Yet another week is passing by with yet another interesting monster to play with! In this week’s competition we are looking forward to play with the Death Splinter card Dhampir Stalker. Frist up we will discuss the card itself. Afterwards we will talk about the additional cards that we will use in the upcoming battle and last but not least we will take a look at yet another victory with one of the highlighted cards! With that being said, let’s jump straight into it!

Dhampir Stalker

First things first, what do we know about this card? Well, for starters it is costing quite a bunch of mana! 7 mana is not a small amount, so let’s discover what we will be getting for this. 3 ranged attack paired with 2 speed and 5 health. Not the best distribution of stats but if played correctly, the 3 ranged damage can be quite a lot! Additionally, this card comes with the true aim Ability which means that it will never miss its shot. This also means that if you want a safe amount of damage dealt every turn, this card is the one for you!

Furthermore, this card has great potential in higher levels! It can get up to 5 damage and 7 health. Additionally, it can get up to 4 speed which is also quite good for a card of this caliber. In general this card is best used if you can have additional damage dealt with this card. An example is the explosion ruleset that allows you to deal damage to the monster next to your target as well. Furthermore, this card thrives in rulesets with Close Range and where the abilities of either summoners or other monsters are turned off.

On the other side, this card has not the most health. This means that I would not recommend playing this card in Earthquake or Poison scenarios. On top of that, I would avoid battles that focusing on melee monsters as they will always have an advantage against the Ranged attackers. All in all, there are quite a few use cases for this card but also some situations where it will not help you at all.

Tank Options

Now, every team needs a great tank and the death Splinter has exactly what we are looking for! We can chose from either Harklaw or the Cursed Windeku. Both are excellent tanks with their whole unique use-case. While Harklaw is more the damage eater, the Windeku is more of a damage dealer. The first one is especially effective against melee and ranged attackers with low amount of damage as the Shield Ability will help it to reduce the damage severely. With two attack 9 health and 3 armor, the legendary card has all what it takes to be a great tank.

On the other hand we have a absolute goat of a card. The Windeku has 9 health and 2 attack with 3 speed. What makes this card special is its Thorns Ability. This means that every card that hits it with Melee monsters will get a two damage punishment. This ability is one of the best ones in the game and I personally recommend using this card before the Shield card. To be honest, it all depends on the current situation but if we are low on mana, a 6 mana cost card with this ability is unbeatable!

More Damage!

What is missing to our team? Right! Some more damage dealers! Because we are playing the Death Splinter we can rest assured that the opponent will have on health less due to our summoner. Nevertheless, we need to deal some more damage and what other way than with these two cards. We are having a low mana version and a version for a high mana battle.

First up is Soul Strangler who is just an absolute star of a card! For just 3 mana we are getting 2 ranged attack! This is unbeatable. Yes the card has only 2 health but if we protect it correctly we should not have any issues. With two speed it is not the fastest one but can definitely outpace a good amount of other cards.

If we have a bit more mana to our hands, I always like to use Magi Necrosi. For six mana we are getting a 2 magic attack monster that can not be attacked by any monster unless its in the first position. Not only that but with its Snipe Ability we are able to target monsters in the backline of our opponents which is also absolutely amazing. With 4 speed it is also securing us some early attacks which can destroy the whole strategy of our opponent.

Example Battle

Now that we discussed our potential team, let’s take a look at what we were able to create here. Unfortunately, we only had 20 mana to spend so I chose the cheaper versions of the previously mentioned cards. Nevertheless, they did exactly what we discussed prior. Due to the Stalker we were able to deal quite a bit of damage and were very quickly in our execution. In the end we were able to take victory home because we were able to deal more damage with a very similar Death squad as our opponent!

A card with a big potential on high mana battles.
