This week’s “Share Your Battle” is all about the Mycelic Infantry. I think this card is on the popular side at the moment and definitely worth trying out! With that being said, we will discuss the attributes of this card today. Furthermore, we will talk about the strategy and cards that we will use to accompany this card in battle and last but not least we will discuss the battle that we fought with our strategy. Without further ado, let’s get started!

Mycelic Infantry

First things first, let’s talk about the Mycelic Infantry. It is an Earth Card that is best used as a tank. Why? Well, it has pretty convenient stats to do so! First up it has 3 armor and 7 health which is pretty good for a card that costs 8 mana. On top of that it brings 3 Melee attack but only one speed which is not the end for this card as it will shine in reverse speed rulesets as well. As you can see, this card is pretty strong on the base level. But it gets stronger the higher level you get with it! It’s potential lays with 5 melee attack and 10 health which can be pretty strong!

The cherry on top is it’s ability. The Shield Ability makes this card a perfect tank and very strong against any kind of other melee or Ranged attackers as their attack gets basically cut in half. On top of that this card gets the Giant Killer Ability with level 5 and the Enrage ability on level 8! With all of these attributes, this card is suitable to use as a tank in almost any kind of situation. Like previously mentioned, the reverse Speed ruleset would be one that is very easy to use. On top of that, there are the Melee only and Earth quake rulesets that might be advantageous for this card.

Distraction & Support

Now that we talked about the star of this article, let’s talk about the units that we will use to take the win home. Because we are using the Earth Summoner Obsidian, it is generally pretty helpful to use Magic attackers as they are the ones getting the most benefit from her. In order to cause some distraction to our tank and not to overload him with to many attacks, we chose to use an additional Taunt Card.

The Mycelic Slipspawn is the perfect card to draw some attention from the opponent attackers to. It has 10 health and can attack himself from any position you want. Because it is a Magic attacker it is getting an additional buff from Obsidian and can actually damage for 3 damage himself. Yes, this card is costing us 9 mana but is definitely worth it to distribute some damage!

Another support card that we need to use here in order to keep our tank a float is Goblin Psychic. It is one of my favorite cards in the complete game as it is a Magic attacker and heals the tank throughout the battle. While used in Reversed Speed Ruleset, this card can actually attack early on. On top of that it is costing us only 6 mana which can be a lot in small mana cap games but is in general always worth it to spend.

Some Damage

Now to the fun part. We also need some severe damage dealers in order to outcompete our opponents. Because we are using the Earth Splinter, it is highly advised to use some Magic attackers here. The first one, I would always recommend is Regal Peryton. Not only does this card have the flying ability, but it also has 6 speed and 5 health on the third level. On top of that it has 2 magic attack which is getting bumped up to 3 with Obsidian. For only 5 mana, this card is an absolute must-have if you want to deal some good amount of damage!

The other card is a Neutral card, so you can use it whenever you want.. Magi of Chaos is very similar to Regal Peryton. The only difference is that Magi of Chaos is costing us one mana more and has a bit less speed. It is still a very valid card to play in order to deal an extra 3 magic damage each turn. In my opinion it definitely pays out to paly this card if you have it.

Example Battle

Going into the battle, our strategy is pretty obvious. Deal more damage than you opponent and make our tank last as long as possible. Well, I think we were very successful with this strategy. We were able to hold our tank in place for almost the entirety of the battle and we were able to deal some good amount of damage. In the end our strategy and choice of cards definitely paid off and we were able to secure the win very comfortably! 😊
