To Know of Not the Real Name of Project Blank

in LeoFinance2 years ago

I've read a post of @taskmaster4450 earlier today.

It Is Time For Leofinance To Reveal The True Name Of #ProjectBlank

My gut reaction was to agree with Task. That we need a name of the microblogging app Leofinance builds to build SEO for it.

Then, thinking about it for a bit, I thought maybe the strategy is to wear off this Project Blank name so when the prelaunch / launch marketing comes the new name will be shining new.

Which reflects in my comment on his post:

Khal should tell us if there is a reason why the name of the app is kept secret. At this point, launching the app would require a 'rebranding' of something inexistent and yet very well positioned for SEM (search engine marketing).

EDIT: ... unless this is the idea. If the project is talked to death for a couple of months, by the the time it's released it becomes old news and nobody will care or react to the launch announcements and marketing.

In his reply Task argued that if that was the case, companies wouldn't do premarketing campaigns:

Khal should tell us if there is a reason why the name of the app is kept secret.

That might be the case. There might be a valid reason for it. However, my sense is that is not the case judging by his comment in this article. He obviously saw it. If there was a legit reason, he could simply leave it as a comment.

unless this is the idea. If the project is talked to death for a couple of months, by the the time it's released it becomes old news and nobody will care or react to the launch announcements and marketing

If that was true, companies would never pre-pave or premarket things. Yet we see it all the time.

And the idea is to get optimization, not get a thousand articles per day talking about it. The reality is we have very little info about the application since it is being development. So the writings will be general in nature.

I agree, if that wouldn't work, companies wouldn't bother doing any premarketing.

What I would argue to some extent is that generally this type of marketing is made by established companies and usually towards their loyal customers, to create excitement and desire to have/try a new product from the brand you are loyal to.

What Leofinance will do is try to reach to the outside and pull in someone who has no sentiments towards the platform, the team behind it, the brand or crypto, or maybe even start with disbelief.

Which is much harder.

Will some degree of premarketing from the Leofinance community help them make up their minds when the product is launched?

I don't know.

For example, I was under the impression "our" Project Blank ranks up much higher in the search engines. I was wrong. At a quick search, I found its first occurrence:

I should include this one for a clearer picture:

So, it's not the 3rd on the first page, it's on the 3rd page of the results. Which is almost similar to inexistent, because most people don't go beyond the first page of results, maybe the 2nd.

This isn't a fair fight, if the search terms are found in the domain name, those results automatically gain massive points. And several "projectblank" domains are taken.

Which means, when the microblogging app will have its domain, it will absolutely rank better by the domain name search keyword.

There is another thing. You can't build links to an unknown domain name or before the website is operational.

So, I'm not sure if the premarketing of the microblogging app with its real name would have an impact or not, but for SEM (search engine marketing) it wouldn't be very helpful, unless after launch everyone starts editing their old posts on the topic and adding the link to the operational microblogging app.

Other than the desire to know the real name, which is understandable and I have it too, what do you think, knowing it and using it as such instead of a placeholder would

  • help
  • not matter
  • hurt
  • I don't know

in preparation for the launch of the microblogging app which we now refer to as Project Blank?

You baited me here haha, I thought I would get to know the real name.
Another great evidence of choosisng the topic of your mail is important :)

Hahaha! Sorry for that!

I think it will be called the Awesome1 and I would be the one behind the entire project. But, that's just my theory.

That would be awesome! :P

it doesn't matter, it's a meme at this point :)))

project meme again? lol!

at least you know what to expect from me :P

I know! And you are consistently bringing smiles on people's faces with your comments. :)

I have no idea but nothing is really going to matter unless we know the real name. I do think Project Blank is probably overused so it would be hard to rank.

It's definitely not going to be Project Blank its real name. Maybe it would help to know the true name in advance or not. Of that, I am not sure either.

How do we know Project Blank isn't the real name. It certainly has created a buzz. Thanks for sharing.

Just search by "project blank". You'll see at least a few projectblank dot something domain names taken. Even if someone would take this seriously, it would be a losing idea.
