Strong Ideas Are More Powerful Than Strong Opinions: Michael Saylor vs Peter Schiff

Peter Schiff who has been wanting to debate Michael Saylor for a while took it to a Twitter to get Michael Saylor attention this month. If you haven't seen that yet the twitter exchange between the two ended up showing not only why no debate is necessary, but ended up being a short twitter debate.

The screenshot above shows the full exchange. If you would like to read the tweets on Twitter, feel free to read the thread here.

Michael brilliantly puts an end to the discussion with his last response:

There is no point debating a cynic that stands for nothing, believes in nothing, and offers nothing but fear, uncertainty, doubt, & vitriol. The world needs strong money, and since by your own admission you have no faith in #gold, equity, bonds, & fiat, #Bitcoin wins by default.

In the times of price declines for Bitcoin and other crypto assets, I was genuinely interested in some substantial arguments against investing Bitcoin and other coins. Peter Schiff had a great opportunity to address that, but completely failed only to prove Michael's last point.

That tells me regardless how strong one's opinions are about certain things they don't rise to a level of ideas that one would encourage actions. In Michael's case we all know he not only has strong opinions about Bitcoin, but only embraces the technology as an idea that will change the world. To prove that he is not hesitant to put his career long reputation and financial stakes in line for this simple and revolutionary idea.

Such action and sharing ideas in public are refreshing for me and others who are also enchanted by the idea of bitcoin even in these times of temporary decline in prices.

Of course people shouldn't make financial decisions based on twitter discussions regardless how known people involved in these discussions are. The beauty of Bitcoin is it requires people to take personal responsibility to their finances.

Regardless what criticism people may have about Michael Saylor, I do sincerely appreciate his contributions in education about Bitcoin from which I did take benefit of and being a loud voice for the rest of us who also support this brilliant idea of bitcoin as a better alternative to traditional financial systems.

Full disclosure, I am invested in bitcoin and will gain profits as bitcoin continues being adopted globally and appreciate in value.

I don’t see the point in paying attention to a guy who is only interested in shilling his funds as a solution! His hating Bitcoin because it makes investing obsolete they going the way of the dodo

Yes, it is still entertaining. :)

I honestly think its better to follow Michael Saylor because he is showing facts more than just spouting stuff. The numbers themselves don't lie and Peter Schiff earns just by managing the money coming in.

Sigh, much as I think that there is potential in cryptocurrencies... I'm not really a fan of either of those two guys.

Michael Saylor is very good at explaining things in manner that they make sense. I have learned a lot from his talks.

I've heard him a couple of times, the one I remember is on Unchained. To me, he is idealistic (good) but comes across a little aggressive and not very open to other opinions (bad). Still, good to have someone like him in the crypto corner... but I do prefer more measured commentators!

I stopped been a fan of peter schiff during that time when he was always condemining bitcoin.

Wow! Powerful stuff!
Well said and we’ll written.
Mic drop 😉

Nice post @geekgirl , I'm not sure what I think about these crypto politics, I just know I've been personally involved with it for a while and feel very confident that it will change the world for the better.
It's helped many of us already :)

Have a great day.

I've been listening to Peter Schiff for years and who is left listening? An aging clientele of wealthy Baby Boomers who understand gold but haven't been educated on Crypto, Schiff could be a generational bridge for crypto, instead Schiff is a Centralized Establishment Gate Keeper.

These people are ones who have missed the train to invest in Bitcoin and wants it to come down to $10000 so that they can invest in it heavily.
