October came fast and like every first of each month, we do our Hive ritual, you know, the HPUD or Hive Power Up Day.
I have been staking (powering up) HIVE every single day since January 1st this year and also been participating in the HPUD initiative where we stake more HIVE. You could say that consistently participating in the PUM (Power Up Month) initiative by staking at least 1 HIVE daily and doing the HPUD every first of the month both helped in making me grow from a wee RedFish to a Dolphin in a span of 8 months (1st January to 1st September) from since I got really active onchain.
Anyway, here was my Hive Power on September 1st which also culminated my turning into a Dolphin.
And this is today prior to doing my 10th Power Up. Glad to have grown it by 374HP in the whole month of September. A pretty decent growth but I know I can do better.
I keep buying $HIVE using my HBD rewards pretty much everyday, just that I don't stake them all like I used to do in the previous months. I want to keep some liquid $HIVE on my wallet.
And here is the new HP total after staking 100 $HIVE this morning which got me a little closer to my year-end goal of 7k Hive Power.
Consistency, showing up everyday, and just doing what I love to do around the Hive blockchain all help in making this journey a lot more fun and fulfilling.
If you are new and reading this, you might be wondering what is Hive PUD. It is an initiative started some years ago by those who came before us and they have carried through month after month up until this time. The event encourages us to keep growing our stakes for reasons indicated below:
Staking HIVE (or $LEO for that matter) makes us think long-term while reaping some immediate benefits (curation etc).
