150K Milestone and Queen Charlotte Track

in LeoFinance4 years ago (edited)

Just did my final power down on steem and powered up some hive to crack 150k hivepower. I am fully expecting Steem to pump now that everyone's power downs are done. But regardless of the trading opportunities I just could not hold any steem given what has been going on over there with the censorship and seizure of funds. So I have doubled down over here; I am in this for the long run. As a content producer I need a decentralized platform like Hive to succeed as it's critical to having a viable career as a photographer. Web 2 has been clamping down hard on organic reach and shifting all my accounts to requesting paid reach. Hard not to feel a bit giulty being able to sell steem into a market shielded from all the major dumpers after the hard fork 0.23 heist. In a strange way the steem heist where 23 million steem were stolen from the key hive supporters has helped to further decentralize hive and helped the smaller accounts power down their steem for a reasonable price and power it up over on hive. All eyes now on Bittrex and the stolen community32 funds. If Bittrex does a disbursement to the owners on the exchange expect steem to dump hard. If not I expect steem to actually pump now the dumping will be drying up. Time will tell; but I think steem pumping can only be good news for hive regardless for the media attention it will bring and the expectation that Hive will pump in turn will be self forfilling. Like always, time will tell !

This is actually a large version of my profile picture. Its a selfie taken while tramping the Queen Charlotte Track. The track is in the Marlborough Sounds in the South Island, New Zealand.

If you would like to learn a little bit more about my background in photography you can read the interview @photofeed did with me here.

I was thinking the same way about Steem price appreciating once everybody has their powered down Steem sold but couldn't hold it and risk this trade. Unfortunately my bills depend on my blogging activity and I had to sell all my STEEM for cash but I get your long term view. Curious to see how STEEM and HIVE will appreciate once the majority of ex Steem users will stop selling STEEM for HIVE.

Time will tell; there are a few wildcards out there.

i was hoping for more images.

I was hoping for more meaningful comments. Quality over quantity always.

its not about quality quantity. lol. i just commented about my expectation. why so serious?

not overly serious; but more is not always better.

I didn't have to power down too much in Steem but move all that I had laying around to Hive :) You're right about organic reach in Web2 - all I get is people wanting to pay pennies to have their link inserted in a guest post!

Good, luck here man.

Thanks mate. Web 3 will happen eventually. Its just a question of when it takes off.

Congratulations on you amazing number.

I will be there some time in the future with your support.
I need just 100 times my current amount :)

Be well and keep posting great photos :)

100 times does not seem such a big number ;-)

Wow. That's so huge and also a great achievement on Hive. You did well. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and story with us.

Thanks Matt

You welcome. How is the family doing?

I used to mountain bike the length of the QC track sometimes - it was a great ride - but bugger walking it...

Whatever Steem does, up or down, I'm pleased to see the back of it. Long live Hive!

Amen to that!

Yes glad to see the back of it ! Amazing how well the community came out of the whole process.

La verdad amigo todo tiene su tiempo, y este indefectiblemente es el tuyo, me agrado tu post gracias por compartir.

Gracias. Agradezco el amable comentario.

Congrats... that's way cool.

Thanks mate; its been a long road as you know. Steem was about $1.5 when I started; and went up almost to 8, then down to the lows we all know. But I am still here ;-)

Gratz on that Milestone! Let's see where this journey goes!

Thanks. Yes hopefully Hive takes off from here.
