One often hears the mantra "code is king" in the cryto world. The idea is that the code regulates the blockchain and that people should invest according to the algorithms and not external ideals.
I liked that the HIVE blockchain emphasized #POB. The blockchain distributed the inflation on HIVE to authors and curators. I admit. I had great hopes for Hive Engine. For the last several months, I've been transferring most of my HBD rewards into HIVE-Engine with the mistaken belief that they might outperform HIVE.
This last month the witnesses raised the interest on HBD to 20%. HIVE now gives out a higher precent reward to holders of HBD than to people actively creating on the platform. Smart players started powering down their rewards and putting it all in HBD.
I still hold that code is king. My approach will be to transfer all HBD rewards into savings to get the 20% interest. My Hive Engine account collapsed. I will keep what I earn on Hive-Engine.
Monthly Recap
I've been keeping a monthly tabulation of my HIVE account growth. The first table shows a summary of past reports. I had decided to concentrate on building my alt-coings holdings. My various accounts grew from 361,000 coins to 784,220.
This last month was extremely disappointing. When the witnesses raised HBD interest to 20%, a large number of people pulled their funds from Hive-Engine and my HE holdings collapsed. I don't see the alt-coins recovering; so I have to accept that the funds I sent to HE is now lost. So sad.

It does look like carnage on Hive Engine. I wonder if Hive goes much lower it may affect it.
