NFT and the Work of Art

A work of art makes you hold your attention for such time to enjoy it.

Drawing on the Walls

cave1.png
Early "Artists" used to draw on the walls of caves many years ago.
Cavemen may have done it for art's sake, for records, or rituals.
Your guess is as good as mine since only the drawings on the wall remained.

Paintings

Artists started adding colors to their drawings which then evolved into what we call Painting.

Drawing and Painting are part of visual arts that provides an artist to express his or her feelings, imaginations, what he sees around him, a story of some sort. And almost anything under the sun.

For generations Painting as an art has progressed with the various medium and materials to paint with, and the many styles of how Painters paint.

What makes painting unique is that for the past years it became not only used for decorations on the wall and an object to appreciate and enjoy, but rather it evolved as an asset.

With Painters like Pablo Picasso, Rembrandt, Monet, Vincent Van Gogh, and my favorite Leonardo da Vinci.

Leonardo da Vinci may have painted various iconic Paintings and works of Art which when you have one of his originals will surely make you rich.
The Salvator Mundi can be considered the most expensive painting he has done. He also painted the Last Supper. The Vitruvian Man is a drawing of a man with the ideal proportions of the body.

The Mona Lisa is the one I consider an interesting painting. As I stare into her eyes for some time and try to walk away, I feel that she is still gazing at me.
The painting was recorded in the Guinness World of Records in 1962 with the highest known painting insurance valuation at US$100 million.

What makes a painting command such a hefty price especially during the early times of adopting such a work of art piece as an asset.
The painter who made it plays an important role in making the price valuable.
But I believe it is the wealthy community of that time, they embrace the idea that the painting will appreciate in the future. The buyer makes it a good investment.
Therefore you go out there and bid for it if it is available for buying.

Now comes the NFT and the digital arts

beep1.png
Digital arts are enjoying an unprecedented boom.
Within the span of 5000 days or about 14 years a U$69 Million work of art emerges.
Done by Michael Joseph Winkelmann, popularly known as Beeple.

Well, what did this art have,
it is an NFT
an asset powered by blockchain technology
it is digital art that is unique
the Artist is popularly known in the industry
there is a community that embraces and supports his work
the owner is certain he is certified with a smart contract

The buyer will be lucky if the price of this asset will grow in time.
Which is what we in this generation want to happen.

I may not be able to buy such an asset as of this time but I did have one to post as my own.

I bought it at https://nftshowroom.com a part of the Hive ecosystem.

thank you
hope you have a wonderful day

The truth is that they don't make much sense to me, there are even very bad arts that have unbelievable prices.
I Tokenize some arts but I don't know why they would have value, I managed to sell 1 and then I didn't upload anything else because I don't really see the joke.

That's nice.
I believe beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.
Maybe in due time beauty will be seen when the price goes up. (joke)
