TRIPLE ORCA
You might not know this, but because I am a sneaky bastard, and my gramps told me not to put all my eggs in one basket, I have multiple HIVE accounts. The three most significant of which are now all Orcas, meaning they have about 52k Hive Power Each. On the aggregate, this puts me near the top 100 Hive Power holders. On the current dip in HIVE price, I picked up a bit more which pushed me into this TRIPLE ORCA territory. Am I showing off and trying to rub your nose in it? I guess I am a little bit, but there are plenty of bigger fish who will have a good laugh at my expense. That being said...
I Am 100% Manual Curation
The majority of my HP is used for manual curation. I do not autovote with this account. I hate autovoting almost as much as I hate bid bots. That being said, my ROI for curation is shitty, but who cares. I support articles I at least skim through first. This isn't my day job. I do delegate and follow some trails with alts though, but with the goal of spreading more love, not gaming the system. I am here to support authors and help be the tide that lifts all boats. I'm not here to game the system or practice short-term thinking. I want HIVE to achieve the sort of sustained growth, that short-term thinking will seem stupid and petty in retrospect. You know who you are... wink... wink...
71 Rep, Who Cares?
Nary a bidbot was used to gain this rep, so I guess that's good. Lots of you sporting high reps can't make that claim. You know who you are as well!
What's Next?
I guess my next milestone will be a third of a whale (~171,600). It will be fun making an image for that one. It will take a while to get there, since I have MANY interests in this space. More interests than money! So unless my male supermodel career takes off PDQ, I'll be resting on my laurels as far as Hive is concerned in the medium term.

Must be a nice feeling reaching this goal @joshman! For what it may be worth to you, the impressions you have made on me, on my own journey in this virtual world, have been a positive influence on why I am still here. While I don't go around "blowing trumpets" about it, I have not been shy either about issues "in here" which leave me cold. However, I am pretty settled on a simple explanation. Any endeavor of man, if there are people involved? There are problems. "The good, the bad, and the ugly" we just take it as it comes ... 😉
For my small part in adding value to our Hive blockchain, I have surprised myself over these last couple of months. Learning about the so-called "second layer" opportunities in Hive, I have resumed some investing. While not even a "single orca," I can see the possibility drawing closer of being a "hybrid Orca." 🙃
What is that? My total of my actual Hive plus Hive equivalents (expressed that way in Hive Engine) of "second layer" tokens is getting to the place where I could see them getting over 50,000. I might even write a post about it someday ... 😉

It's too bad it seems others (not you) view this differently. Maybe after HF24, the "big boys" will decide to revisit the EIP and think about this a little harder. Their last big play took this vital part of the whole experience in this "virtual world" in the wrong direction IMHO ...
Dear collector friend, your story is fascinating, I think three orcas are better than one, even three beautiful models are better than one.

But particularly congratulations on the fact that you manage your "operation" manually, rather than just automate the whole thing. I think that in order for the whole Hive ecosystem to go anywhere in the long term, we need more people who are actually out there manually telling people that "Hey, I read your stuff and thought it was pretty good! (or not)"
If the social end of this is going to work... users have to felt seen.

You're a decent hiver or hivian, I do 50/50 for my own curation and sometimes it can be stressful to manually curate but then it's great, congratulations on your triple milestone.
