” Blackbirds tend to like shiny objects” ~ The Bloody Raven

We all or most of us are familiar with the historical town of Tombstone Arizona, not just about some famous wild-west feud and conflict between the Earps and the Clantons but also the amazing economic boom that silver mining bought about.
There are various estimates on the amount of the extracted silver and gold as actual quantities are difficult to verify. One estimate put Silver production alone as 32 million ounces in Tombstone’s history.

There are plans to continue mining for silver and gold in the region but not until a price rise is sufficient to make the fallow mines economically feasible.
Back in 1881 Tombstone was a place brimming in excitement and adventure, who knows what other famous and infamous characters stopped by to pick up a souvenir or two, which brings us to this delightful bar.
Scottsdale Mint sourced its very silver from Tombstone Arizona.

Tombstone, Arizona, September 3rd, 1881 8 PM

Allen Street was crowded with prospectors, miners, revelers, businessmen and hucksters mostly seeking a means to spend their day’s hard earned wealth. There were plenty of distractions that lined the lamp lit street as with every evening. A traveler decides step out of the Stage Coach office rather than wait another four hours for her next available stage coach.

1

At a nearby cross street a particular building stood out, and Schieffelin Hall seemed a nice place to spend a few hours considering its ambience and clientele. The woman stepped in through the doors in an elegant manner and set down her bag. She was clad in Victorian black lace with a black feathered boa, matching her small black feathered fascinator hat and a black lacquered walking cane.
After removing her gloves she lifted one finger.
The maître d' recognized her need of a table and led her through the crowded room to a small table by the window.

1

“The name’s Thomas, Thomas McLaury ma’am.” The man was confident in his candor as he straightened and put his hand around her waist but yet to pull her to his side. He just politely waited for her reaction before proceeding. “You look as if you needed something like some company?”

A few years ago Tombstone was a Prospector’s Camp now a growing township that sprung up on the discovery of Silver ore in these hills of Cochise County. The town was thriving on the Goodenough silver mine sitting on top of the mesa as well as the other local mines and many have flocked here to find their fortune in one form or another. There was a multitude of saloons, gambling houses, brothels, hotels, restaurants, theater and even this newly built Schieffelin Hall Opera house. This town bustled with activity, business, and commerce, legal and illegal. And since she arrived there were already three incidences of gunfire, a wild town indeed.

“Allow me to help with your bag.” With his free hand Tom lifted her bag finding it much heavier than it appeared.

She didn’t complain nor indicated any refusal but smiled at his offer of company to a lone woman just traveling through. She thanked the maître d' and declined the table. “My name is Tracey Maloney. I am just on my way out of California. I sold my business to pursuit a new venture out east.” She felt the tug of his hand towards a table of his friends.

1

“Tricia Maloney, Let me introduce to you my brother Frank McLaury…” Thomas motioned to a nearby seated gentleman.
A well-dressed man sporting a tidy mustache and beard removed his hat and stood up, “Howdy Ma’am.”
Thomas’ hand shifted to the other gentleman, “And my long-time friend Willian Clanton.”
The younger clean shaven man also took off his hat and stood “Much obliged ma’am and welcome to Tombstone.”
“Just call me Tom.” In the same courtesy he helped seat their guest at the table. “Tracy is from California,”

Frank nodded, “They must have run out of gold by now in Caly. What was your business my we ask?”
“An establishment called The Gambler’s House. It was more a restaurant and community house of fine reputation. Everything was legal and remarkably profitable when I sold it to a group of investors to see to investing in new ideals and projects to occupy my time.”
Billy leaned forward pushing his glass of bourbon aside, “We do business here too, we’re lookin fer Investors in local Cattle trade.”
Frank laughed at Billy’s feeble pitch, “I don’t think this fine woman intends to get into our Cattle business, I kin tell she’s into bigger business as you seem to have a Victorian sophistication of business.”

1

Tom signals for the waiter, “Drink Ma’am, my treat?”
“Why thank you Sir, I will have a fine Rum please.”
Tom grinned in surprise, “Rum huh?” He turned to the waiter, “Bring a bottle of your finest Rum!”
Frank queries with a smile, “What else interests our guest? Did you have a profession prior to California? Such a beautiful woman must have more a history than a restaurant business? There are plenty enough restaurants here in Tombstone.”
The waiter returns and pours the rum into a Shot glass and placed the bottle with the Rye and Whiskey.

Tricia lifted her shot glass, “I was a Nun in Mexico.”
The table becomes eerily quiet as she kicks back half the drink in a measured gulp, “Ahh, and a damned good one too!” Tracy looked at the unbelieving eyes of her present company. “Okay, I was a Pirate!”

The three men looked at each other for a moment before bursting into laughter.
Tom lifted his glass, “Sure, that’s a new one… to a fine lady pirate like you.”
Frank and Billy chuckled as they raised their glasses too, “Here here!”

It's been the same Character since the 16th century, just different aliases.
It's the transition for T Maloney and The Gambler's House and T McMillian and the Sky Pirates story arcs.

Tombstone is so iconic, i cant help but think there was some ladies doing the CanCan on those lamp lit streets

Entertainment seemed to be in big demand especially from those of the fairer sex.
There are stories of towns and camp devoid of women and enterprising folks imported women to 'Entertain' with big profits made.
BC's gold rush needed women too, there was a story of an enterprising wife of a former prospector who charged a fee to let men see her laundered bloomers hanging on the clothesline.
In a more civilized setting like an upscale saloon, to escort a lady or have a lady come your table made big money. Tip not included.
If the Client has the cash an accommodation can be made and the establishment cared not were the money came from.

Sweet hat and interesting tale up there, she fallin in with the Rustlers?

I'm not really a Bad Girl, just look that way in this little Prequel with only a tiny part of the whole story.
The Bloody Raven is just passing through just to pick up a souvenir, have a little attention, and some fun.
Otherwise, there'd be six fresh graves instead of three.

Very Nice @kerrislravenhill I really enjoyed PirateSunday, I may have to warm up to it again. I just have to ease back in since I walked away for a little while...........

I'm being a Landlubber as of late, but the spirit of freedom loving pirates still ring true. Arrh!
Then git yer sea legs @stokjockey ,so to speak.

Let ‘er R.I.P.

Will there be three fresh graves or six?
The place Ain't called Tombstone for nothin.

Maybe she was a Pirate Nun! Sailing the seas far and wide to spread the good word, whether they wanted it or not!

the "steemleo" tag is for posts that is related to "investing" or "investments"...this is an abuse of tag...

Posted via Steemleo

I 100% disagree. Just because @kerrislravehill is creative enough to add some fiction to her post does not disqualify it from being investment related so just calm down @kaduni.

Muted.
That explains my underwhelming performance with LeoFinance.

No warning of muting, No opportunity for a review, No RECOURSE, summarily muted. And you wonder why I have yet since posted through the Leo portal. 34 posts since beginning with The Scottsdale Bar post debacle The alleged offending post.

While my colleges of the #silvergoldstackers community are the Showcasers, I make PM stacking Sexy, Historical, Fun, and give it the sizzle. As you look into my entire posting history I don’t spam or shit post, winning at least 10 Curie Wand taps in that time.

Now #teloskanda tribe wants me to be on board and recently gave me a wad of Tokens to drop a tag and use theirs. I lost a lot of ground since, 34 posts worth and feeling bitter about it but it will pass.

Make it worthwhile for me to come back, the name of my accuser, judge, jury and executioner is Kaduni

Thank you for looking into this @khaleelkazi and have a Good day

Fcuking kaduni is not even here any longer and I see no reason for you to be muted on LeoFinance @kerrislravenhill. Hopefully they look into it and fix the problem. :)
