Cant afford it or have jobs which means they cannot leave.
Thus those who have the lower end type jobs, which cannot be relocated or work from home are stuck.
Of course, their economies are crashing.
NYC will go bust very quick once they lose that Wall Street money. That is a huge tax basis for them.
With real estate values collapsing, that will hurt that tax base.

The biggest issue I see is that people can't stand the fact that their living environment and safety has dropped. It has become unbearable to the people that they have left.
The biggest problem for the remaining people is that there are static costs and this is divided equally among those who are left. So the costs of basic necessities continue to increase. At the same time, wage inflation in the US is horrible so people are likely not making more money.

Put it this way, less than half of Americans pay any income tax at all. In fact, many get "refunds" and they didn't pay any tax to begin with. This is not a "fair and equitable" tax. This is a blatant attempt to redistribute the wealth. But more than that, it is really nothing more than the left attempting to "buy" peoples votes. Period.

The American tax system seems broken, ours is too but I think America might be on another level. We upgraded our tax system too recently. There is an issue where tax brackets remain despite inflation which means you will reach a higher tax bracket earning the same amount of cash. So you get taxed more on less.
We did a little bit of work there but my income tax is around 35%. Quite alot and businesses pay alot less and wealthier here get to reduce taxable income. Still needs work

I think you misperceive what is taking place. The system you clamor for was implemented many times around the world and was always known to end up increasing poverty.

I don't know the system in the US but from what others are writing it seems broken and too complex with everyone's hand in someone's pocket.
Australia's isn't perfect and we recently addressed some issues and lowered the tax rates. But in Australia it flows onto people as we have the highest wages in the world and highest quality of life.
Sounds like America still has a long way to go to figure out how to tax, how to spend it and how to run a country.

The US tax code is intentionally written in a complex way.
There are a lot of loopholes that the wealthy can jump through but the average person cannot.
So we are stuck with the complexity of something that doesnt work for most.
But that is like most things with government.

Thats because the wealthy have time which they use their money to buy. Pay people to do the things me and you need to do. This allows them to pursue government and engage.
The thing I find about local politics is that many of the people I speak to on local issues feel the same way but they are unable to engage and make the change. Quite often they delegate this voice to others. But unless you have the numbers you can't effectively create change.
The richer you are the more time you have (I do hold privileg in this space and I am concious that many of my friends and community members do not have the same ability)
This is why I will take calls at 1 - 2 am from a shift worker working night shift and that's their lunch break, it is why I go out to peoples homes when the call me so they don't have to tackle getting child care or working their life around things.
It is why people in leadership positions MUST do what people tell them, it is the most important thing. But often I have seen people come up and get overwhelmed, swamped and some even maybe turn completely.
People in positions of power need to respect it and listen. Otherwise we end up with a complex and confusing system. Maybe commenced with good intentions to repair but became worse in the long run.

That's the STATE tax. The federal tax is 35% if you make over $209k and 37% if you're over $500k and change.. This tax is ON TOP of that. Throw in a 9% sales tax in NYC and now someone making $210,000 a year is paying close to 60% in taxes. Of course that doesn't count any taxes you pay on capital gains (15%) license and registration taxes on a vehicle, parking taxes, gas taxes, etc....do you see where I'm going here? America was founded BECAUSE of taxes that weren't even close to as usurious as this.
New York takes all that money and can't balance a budget under liberal leadership. Florida doesn't have a state income tax and has lower overall taxes and yet they run a surplus. Hmmmm....
All this, and do you know what I haven't even mentioned yet? Property taxes. Hahahaha! Criminals.

I don't know, sounds complex. We have similar taxes but I don't meet all those categories to pay it. My partner and I earn a good total combined income. But we also don't qualify for tax deductions on many things.
Cities can't make taxes here, income tax is purely only able to be implemented by fed. Although our federal government is pressuring states to implement an income tax but we are rejecting that idea.
Australia got a tax cut recently because we were being taxed too much.
I have to admit though, depending on what municipality you live in some councils spend rates better than others. Ours is a lil pricey but I have prestine nature, parks and amenities.
I left my previous municipality because like you said, they couldn't balance the books and weren't providing for what they were charging. So I left.

Totally agree. And crypto could actually be the means to do it. The Age of Abundance could be real. As you so often point out, the technological advances are such that we could feed, clothe, shelter, and educate every single person in this country for literally billions of dollars less than our government spends every year.
Maybe someone can create a "Freedom" token. We'll airdrop every person with a valid US ID an amount equal to the amount of taxes they pay. lol Those will be the governance tokens. There will also be airdrops for small business owners and private sector employees not taking money from government contracts.

I've heard of people who've died, but not anyone I know personally. Someone started coughing in the terminal and people scattered as if she were Typhoid Mary. It will help getting some exchanges to list it, that's where the big bucks are. Last month's DEX report saw a decline in DEX use. Although it was reported that way I don't think it was a decline just more people entering the market through centralised exchanges.

Yeah it's also a confidence thing, I never used a DEX until CUB and it was because I trusted the team otherwise I'd just sit on my expensive Aussie exchange that charges a bucket. But easy, setting up metamask and all that was challenging and I ended up burning a few hundred dollars with no idea where it went lol
But now I know how to use it I'm pretty comfortable and happy with it. I'd definitely be using it in the future and enter through binance.

If that's all they picked up, CUB'S a winner. I was expecting alot more errors to be honest.
Cub has a great team. There was a point picked up that masterchef still has control, which in its current state I wouldn't anticipate it being fully decentralised until all the issues are rolled out and addressed.
The team however does mention that it is only for a limited time and control will end soon.

Yup, I'm not complaining at current prices. Allows me to buy in with a constant split between fiat, earned rewards, trying to manage growth on all 3 is a little challenging but we will get there. Ends up being more fiat but I won't be complaining once CUB hits $10.
Fingers crossed we see a fee hundred within 5 years.
Plus I like the low CUB prices, I've noticed the lower the price the more it mints. Gives me time and a chance to accumulate.

I've been slowly buying in each week, so I'm not too fussed on the slow uptake at this stage. I'm sure there will be a moment where it will get pricey and I won't be able to buy or earn multiple a day but rather fractions.
I'm hoping to be in a decent position before it gets to that stage.
Since I am new to DeFi I don't really know what factors are taken into consideration but task told me that TVL , age and other factors matters .

His first mention of Uniswap "vibes" was in "Going Long" 15-20 days ago. Then he had two "Told ya so" posts. The first one he again mentions the "vibe" and then in the second one he goes into more detail. None of them are "in depth" analysis. Basically, he just says that UNI had pretty much the identical pattern that Cub had in the beginning. Early spike then down to $1.80, then recover to $3-$4 dollars.
As I've said in a couple of my posts, Uniswap sat at $3-$4 for three entire months. Like Sept 28th to Dec 26th or something, and then it took off. The chart is in my post here. We're now almost a month into Cub at these levels. I'm just accumulating what I can and farming the den. I probably should have a little more in the BNB/Cub pool but I don't really want to lose any Cub if BNB goes up. On the flip-side, the Cub you get from farming that pool could easily make up for any "losses" of Cub due to the price of BNB rising.

Here is something I do agree with Biden on.
Part of the infrastructure plan, a bill that is filled with a ton of bullshit, is to provide money for building out internet in rural areas. Of course, the usually suspects along with the Republicans oppose it. Anything that AT&T and Comcast oppose probably should be supported.
The fact that the US is so far behind in high speed Internet is completely pathetic. It just shows how we suffer when we allow monopolies take place.
Of course, this all stems from the Telecommunications Act of 1996 that Gingrich got passed and Clinton signed.

I do agree that we are lacking in those fields but I fully expected it to be the case after the high speed rail failed in California. They took millions of dollars and have nothing to show for it. It will take a while. There are an estimated 2 billion ICE on the roads around the world.
Last year, EVs sales were maybe 2 million.
So it is going to take a while especially since it is hard to ramp up battery production without the natural resources.

Exactly, electric vehicles use 3 times more copper than a gasoline vehicle. Copper extraction is not enough for so much demand for electric cars, so it will take decades to be able to change vehicles worldwide.

They will have to alter what batteries are made of. That research is probably the more important thing going today.
Hopefully they determine a way to make batteries that can scale a great deal more than what we have now.
It will be a process but with all the attention I believe they will get it figured out.

They'll probably figure it out. I'm sure they'll figure out a way to make them without using so much copper, and even find a way to make the batteries last longer. In fact, a few days ago we talked about a company that created a battery that lasts 9 times longer. With one charge you can drive across the U.S., it's impressive.

That is true but it is the old workbench solution. It is hard to go from a prototype to mass production. A lot of barriers exist.
They are looking at ways to remove some of the natural resources from batteries. Hell some are even playing with salt water to see what that does.

When we look at different research being done, billions is the norm.

Well I can foresee a shift to a truly monetary based policy where debt is not issued. Hell the EU is getting close to that.

I think the main problem is that foot traffic in physical stores is down. Walmart is now offering free delivery on food shopping if a certain amount is ordered.

I really think that shopping will end up going completely VR when the time comes. We will see "stores" in VR that mirror what we see in the physical, yet do it from our couches.

However, the idea is that autonomous trucking is, to a degree, much easier. They are looking at having the long haul runs autonomous ie on highways. Localized runs will be done by humans for a while.

Very interesting article about a company bringing out a photonic super computer. This is supposedly 10x faster than NVIDIA's AI chips. Compared to other supercomputers, it also uses 90% less energy.
This is not general purpose but it is suited to run neural networks, something that is vital for cloud computer centers.
The article states that it might have either kickstarted Moore's Law or obliterated it.

It depends on the use case but I don't think it is sustainable. If you spend $1,000 and get $100 for each match. Assuming you do 1 match a day, its pretty much at 3650% APR per year. Time will tell but I don't think I would play.

The 4% rule is another lie told by the financial services industry. People seem to believe that they can survive on 4% of their savings. Sadly, for most, it is not true.
Of course, things will be changing in the future. We are going to see a pushing down of prices over the next 15 years which will put those who are in the older people in a better position.
