Decentralized Internet - Scaling Censorship

The last blow against Decentralized Internet - Censorship

In the entire crypto space, only a tiny fraction of people who claim to be a proponent of decentralization actually have an Hive account and sometimes I struggle to understand this, I know decentralization might mean different things to different people but at the core of it is a movement for freedom,......

......that’s why Bitcoin is so big today, yet still not big enough, because it is a movement at its core, movement for freedom, firstly aimed at disrupting the legacy monetary system, a movement for "freedom to access" of financial services without third parties, I could go on, but obviously that's only one piece of the puzzle and that's only one aspect of freedom.

Everyone will agree that freedom of speech is quite as important and today, our freedom of speech has never been more threatened, the social mediums we have come to rely on have proven to be inefficient in handling it.

Just a few days ago, James O’Keefe, founder of Project Veritas, was permanently suspended from Twitter for violating “Twitter” rules on platform manipulation and spam.

They added:

As outlined in our policy on platform manipulation and spam, “You can’t mislead others on Twitter by operating fake accounts,” and “you can’t artificially amplify or disrupt conversations through the use of multiple accounts.”

Apparently the James guy made a video compilation of real time video evidence that exposed the directors at CNN with clips of them and other employees admitting to having influence on the last U.S presidential election and posted it on Twitter

You need to listen to the words spoken by Charlie Chester, the CNN’s technical director, he outrightly called CNN a propaganda and said many other revealing things.

In CNN’s defense they claimed that the workers were targeted and denied every other thing, for the benefit of doubt, there are always two sides to a story, but we know the possibilities of these type of things happening is highly likely, so ultimately you don’t need a soothe sayer to tell you which side is right or wrong.

So Twitter took down the video and went ahead to permanently ban James account. In my opinion, Twitter crossed the line, James did not operate fake accounts in attempt to mislead people, at least there’s no evidence of it, Twitter outrightly silenced the voice of a user. How long will this go on?

The media really is a terrible thing in the wrong hands, it doesn’t matter if the intentions of who in charge is good or bad, if the media can be manipulated it will be manipulated, no one person should wield all that power/control on behalf of the masses.

This is where Hive plays a vital role, it is the only protocol that has proven to be capable of being censorship resistant and upholds every proponent of decentralization as far as free speech is concerned, no one entity can determine what the users should or should not see, build or not build, contrary to what we have today...

Everyone who truly stands decentralization and freedom should own a Hive account and build a reputation for themselves within its community, first, before the rest of the world catches on, they should usher in the masses, regardless of the monetary aspects, every crypto project should have their accounts on Hive and publish all their updates through Hive. I mean what if Twitter decides to start shadow banning crypto projects for whatever reason...oh they have! How about Youtube? Oh , they have!

Every crypto community should have their accounts on Hive where they also use hives distribution mechanism to distribute tokens to their users, creating avenues for everybody to be a part of the network as they are rewarded for actively contributing value to the community.

This way, the network can influence the type of behaviors that is beneficial to the network itself by incentivizing activities that have the potential to add growth to the network through the networks token.

Most projects we have today post their content on medium, I find it absurd, Medium works as a blogging platform perfectly but we are beyond that technologically, or at least so I believe, just like anyone in crypto will be excited to use a decentralized browsing platform, Brave, over Chrome, I mean Chrome works as should, but technologically we are beyond it, we are more privacy aware, we are more web 3 oriented, we are more censorship resistant and we need the best tools to express these growth dimensions.

No shades at medium but it is just what it is, maybe its just me but I wouldn't outrightly go to Medium to search for articles about stuff except I'm being redirected to it from some other platform or search engine suggestion, maybe its just me tho, on Hive, I can streamline my search easily to the content I want to see, they easily exist in the communities, I do it everyday.

Ultimately the shift is inevitable, a few days ago Micheal Saylor posted this on Twitter and I could relate a lot to it from Hives perspective..."I hated bitcoin before I loved it"

Perhaps Hive is also in the hate it phase, the fact that I even have to write this only shows how early we are into this thing, but you know what they always say about early birds, I wish I was aware of Bitcoin when it was few cents. I've heard that statement one too many times.

A Hive account is one of the easiest accounts to create on a Blockchain, your account name can be anything you want, it will also serve as your wallet address so you don't have to go memorizing long string of alphanumerics.

I prefer to do this through Leofinance.io one of the many interfaces of Hive. Its so easy that one could sign up with a twitter account.

Before we can attain the soveriegnty we all clamour for in our individual crypto communities, we will have one last battle to fight, that is, when crypto gets to the brink of totally overtaking the legacy system, it will be an all out war on crypto, the centralized authorities , govts will throw in everything they have, it will be mass censorship and SEC sues.

Hive will be to media what Bitcoin is to money and eventually, everyone will own a Hive account. The last blow against a decentralized internet is censorship and Hive is the best solution.

Hive is the protocol for the foundation for free internet.

Thanks for reading.

I guess a lot of people are saying hive is not adoptable and they'll actually prefer Facebook, I think a lot of people hasn't realised that nothing is guarantees with centerlised medias. I hope people don't realise this before it's too late.

Err well, I think the window will always be open, early birds just eat the fattest worms

We still need the apps built here that people can really use. This isn't the biggest concern for most people in the world as they want money, fame and followers which we can't give them. Over time that will change but only if it gets easier to use the hive system and the apps on it.

Right....more apps.....more uses...I think there's time, so far the infrastructure is solid

i have no doubt that hive will be a force to reckon with within the crypto sphere and the world at large. good things take time. bitcoin is about a decade old or so? it took people this long to recognize it--many are still in doubt. i believe hive will go through a similar pattern.

Its already going through it, and while most are still sitting it out, the early birds have the most to gain
