External income is vital.

Money doesn't spend like it used to.

I don't know about other countries but I know what is happening over here right now.

Money is worth less and less every year. We just had the annual government budget and just like every other year it has hurt me in the wallet.

More tax, less benefits. It just keeps piling on every time. It seems like the only solution that the government can come up with in their limited world view is that tax is the solution to all problems.

The only problem with that is since covid, there are less people working and they have spent more money trying to keep the economy going.

Carbon Tax.

This one kills me and makes me laugh in equal measures. Ireland like all other countries have agreed to cut carbon emissions for environmental reason. No problem with that. It needs to be done.

Problem, the country produces too much carbon.

Government solution. Add more tax to essential items like diesel and heating.

The thinking is that with a higher price, people will use less essential items and cut carbon emissions. The reality being of course that people still need the same amount of these items but have to pay more for them while not having any more money.

The stupidity is beyond me.

Somehow it doesn't seem to register that there are proactive solution to these problems that will help Irish citizens rather than hurt them.

The simple reality of the past year is that with covid there were less cars on the road as people were working from home. They had a better quality of life and lower expenses as well as producing less carbon.

While they could have incentivized more people to work from home, instead they have gone back on even their own promises and have backed the corporations that pushed for their employees to come back into the offices instead of enabling more flexible working options that would have a much larger impact on our emissions that charging us more for the same products.

One example of many.

Since our politicians are not going to gain any sense of perspective in the near (or distant) future. It is essential to have external sources of income.

Money doesn't go as far as it used to and wages don't tend to go up to match the cost of living so the only way to stay ahead of the curve is to have multiple streams of revenue.

Luckily, we have been the early adoptors of cryptocurrency which provides these opportunities. There are so many ways to earn extra funds and we have talked about it on multiple occasions.

Two of my main subjects are turning up consistently and adding up every token.

I feel that it is the way forward and four years into my crypto journey can really see the results coming together now. The first couple of years were slow going but that is why you need to be here every day and keep adding to your portfolio. Over time it will make all the difference and in years to come, the reason that you have better options in life.

Carbon taxes should only be levied on producers of products that cause the carbon in the first place. That will make them rethink what they are doing as it will hit their bottom line unless they are more eco friendly. Hitting the consumer for things they have not much control over is unfair.

Crypto is also becoming my hope for the future with a passive income but won't the government want to tax that too?

Some dumb politicians threw around the idea of a mileage tax since some people are moving to EV vehicles as well. I don't understand why we just keep getting more and more taxes since the government always wants more money.

arg carbon taxes is another scam, Let's not put bans or things in place to actually stop this. like paying more to heat my house makes no sense. we should be encouraging carbon-neutral plans like less importing from china for one. less waste from not reusing things, Animal agerculture,

In crisis there is always opportunity. Covid was such a shock to the entire world i can't believe we didn't sieze the opportunity to shift the way we work, the way we live and focus more on the most important things in life.

I fear the rat race is about to begin again for a lot of people.

Maybe companies are in denial and people will demand change, we will see.
