Hive blockchain and individual freedoms.

While I live in modern, progressive, democratic country I still dream of freedom.

We might have the illusion of freedom but that is not anywhere near to the same thing and having even that little bit is dependent on your situation in life. Even within this progressive country, if you don’t have the right upbringing then that freedom is less than your peers.

At the moment we are in a unique situation here where people are being prevented from running a business, meeting other people or even leaving their jurisdiction. It’s amazing how fast that illusion of freedom can disappear when the people in charge deem it necessary for “the greater good”. The illusion disappears as you lose control over what you have worked for, paid for and have every right in the world to use freely to the best of your ability.

Now it is no longer acceptable to voice an opinion against what is a terrible situation created by a group of incompetent people with no understanding of the situation that they have created for others. To do so is a digital death sentence as those in charge of the new reality cut out dissent faster than it can ferment into action. That is the fear that they live their lives under as they keep strangling the throats of the population with every single second that they exist.

What happens when breaking point is reached?

When the majority realize that the minority is going to ruin everything that they have spent their lives building?

This is happening in real life every day here but the next step for these people will be to come after our digital activities as well as they will not be happy unless everything is under their control and influence.

Revolution.

History repeats itself.

Time and time again we have seen how a group of people when pushed too far and their livelihoods threatened will band together and fight back. They will band together and use their weight of numbers to drive change. Sometimes peacefully, sometimes through drastic actions.

Some will have to sacrifice as there can be no revolution without casualties. When a tyrant or group of people spend long enough pushing their way into a position of power they will not give that up easily. They will fight on regardless of the cost of their actions. At that point it becomes a matter of conviction and how much you are willing to risk for those all important freedoms that you are entitled to in this life.

The majority of people don't need much in this life but freedom is right at the top of that scale.

Freedom:

  • Of choice
  • To speak
  • To live peacefully
  • To earn
  • To educate yourself
  • To enjoy life

When these are taken away from you then people are left with little choice.

Digital Freedom

This might not have been an issue as my people fought for their freedom over 800 years against an occupying force but we are quickly moving our lives into a digital entity.

All of those freedoms above can now be found online but as always happens they are trying to be controlled by others for gain. Other groups will try to strip your digital freedoms for their own benefit and this is where the birth of HIVE comes about.

This next battle won't be fought on the streets with guns but it will still need to be fought. It will be done through development and innovation. People creating tools that can't be manipulated by governments. People creating places for people to speak freely and to drive change. The numbers are always on the side of the little guys as there is a hierarchy to power and riches. At the moment it only flows one way.

HIVE is an experiment in freedom and revolution. Possibly the only example of it's kind. What happens when you threaten everything that people have been working towards for years, their community, their income, their business, their free speech???

To some we as a chain are digital terrorists. Not happy with what we had and only trying to cause trouble and make money. To others we are the brave community that said no to being silenced and fought back.

To me we have embraced our digital freedom over the easy route of submission and silence.

HIVE is a place of opportunity, not our nirvana. It is far from perfect but then again, nothing is. Perfection is another illusion but what we do have and what HIVE means to me is a place of freedom.

A place to build, a place to grow, a place to earn, a place to learn and most importantly a place that we all own as a collective.

We have the freedom here to own our own accounts and to do with them what we decide. There is no one group that will take those freedoms from us. There is no one person that can silence my opinion or my stake. They can challenge it but they can never take it from me.

HIVE is a revolution of the purest kind and now that we have taken that leap, it is up to every single stake holder. Large or small to ensure that we can grow it and nurture these freedoms for when other people try to take them from us.

We do this by growing our community. By strengthening ties and by developing new and more exciting ways for people to explore this digital land free from restriction and with the opportunity to follow their own set of beliefs.

These are the individual freedoms that HIVE can empower and that are so important for living a full and happy life.

It's only been one year since the formation of HIVE but I am proud to be here and proud of what has been achieved in just 12 short months. If we as a community can stick together and keep going in this direction then I am certain that we will succeed in building something special and bringing a lot more people along with us. Their is power in numbers so it is better to grow as a group than try to to get ahead by yourself.

Yes, Hive/blockchain is a technological revolution. We desperately need a revolution a revolution in the physical world, across the globe.

Outpost-of-freedom.com/plan.htm - The plan for restoration of constitutional government.
&
Committee.org - Committees of Safety

It'd be nice if people were interested in implementing decentralized community consensus off the internet, so that we could implement and live true freedom in the physical world.

They can challenge it but they can never take it from me.

you think?
History and blockchain (steem) tells it differently.
