Adding BEP20 Tokens to Komodo's Atomic DEX

in LeoFinance3 years ago (edited)

Easy as pie

Using the latest beta desktop version 0.4.3.

Let's add CUB

The Komodo {KMD} blockchain has been innovating silently during the last couple of years. And I had not been giving it much attention until recently. Thanks to the DogeDEX for mobile devices. After installing that App on my Xiaomi smartphone I was pleasantly surprised. The Graphical User Interface {GUI} just blew me away, this is what User eXperience {UX} is all about! The software is all about doing Atomic Swaps and does so in a very user friendly way. Lots of Assets available to add to the build in Wallet. UTXO {Unspend TransXion Output} kinds like Dogecoin {DOGE} and Litecoin {LTC}. And also Komodo's own Smartchain ones. Plus a whole bunch of Ethereum ERC20 Tokens.

Ethereum is pretty useless to me though, because of the crazy Gas prices. But then I read about some updates to the Komodo blockchain and its Atomic DEX. One being the addition of Binance {BNB} BEP20 based Tokens. DogeDex was a fork of AtomicDex, so I used the same seed to restore my Wallet in that App. And I also installed the AtomicDex that way on my laptop. Noticed that with the Desktop version 0.4.3 a lot of new Coins and Tokens were added. Plus the possibility to add custom BEP20 Tokens! The choice was easy, I would try and add the CUB BEP20 Token. And again I was blown away by the easy of use that this App excelles at. Enjoying the beautiful interface on my Laptop. Not some slow horrible Javascript / Node based App, but a QT made one, another cheer for the Komodo team. Now that is how it is being done the right way!

After getting the Desktop version from https://atomicdex.io/ it is time to add the CUB BEP20 Token. (And also bLEO can be added that way.) Make sure you add the Binance {BNB} Asset to the DEX first. And also send a bit of BNB to the receive address, as Swapping BEP20's does need Gas. But it is way cheaper than the GWEI of Ethereum. And when you are ready to Swap make sure that your device stays online during the Atomic Swaps(s). As this all happens Peer To Peer style. Remember to store and print your seed words, just like your Private Key(s) of the Asset(s) you are using. And before I use a couple of images to save me from typing thousands of words, a reminder. Only invest what you are willing, and can effort, to lose. Have fun Atomic Swapping them CUBS!

Make it so!

On the AtomiDEX Dashboard click ( + Add asset )

After clicking 'PREVIEW' and confirming the JSON data restart the AtomicDEX app.

Add the new Asset by selecting it

Whoop there it is!

And then maybe be the first to Atomic Swap it

If you get the UX right everything else just falls into place!! Looks quite cool. Might look at the mobile one!

Absolutely, it is very slick, feels almost natural to use. And to get the hang of it there are two testcoins to have a go at: Rick 'n Morty. Both have a faucet build in. Sometimes you can even Swap them for a Coin / Token with market value.

I remember reading about the Rick and Morty ones from one of your previous posts!!! Will defo have a look
