Haha, here we say "you can call me anything, but not working" - I don't know if that makes any sense in English 😉

Cheers and !BEER

I think it will make sense in English to use the double"not".
As in, "you can call me anything but, not, not working" lol.
That will mean that you are not lazy hahaha.

What does it mean in German?

Cheers and thanks!

But with the double "not" it would mean the opposite 😉

German is complicated, we said this before, but it can get even more complicated with the word "heißen" ...

Ich heiße Johann = I am Johann, my name is Johann
Ich heiße dich willkommen = I welcome you
Ich heiße dich deine Arbeit zu machen = I tell you to do your Work

So...

Du kannst mich alles heißen, aber nicht arbeiten = you can call me anything, but not working

I told you I'm no teacher and please forget the above and don't call a doctor, I'm fine 🤪

Looks a bit like a madhouse that the word "heiben" with the fancy "B". So many different meanings.

But I know that some English words also have multiple meanings.

Crane: the bird is a Crane; they had to get a Crane to lift the object; she had to Crane her neck.
Break: I will break a leg, means physical; or I will take a tea break (Non physical)

These are only two of many that I can think of right now!

The closest that I can come to a meaning here is that "You can call me anything, it does not matter"???

By the way, I think that we have a few German doctors here hahaha.

Cheers and thanks!

OK, I suggest you to forget it 🤣
Your German Doctor's might not understand it neither, because I think it's an Austrian saying 😉

The fancy B is a "sharp S" and it's not used so much anymore. Many words have now "ss" instead.

Shocking to read this, as my intials are "SS".
So now the Austrian's have stolen my initials "ss" for the meaning of a word.
I think that this a case for copyright infringement and plagiarism hahaha.

Seriously though, you guys certainly have an interesting language.

Cheers and thanks!

Haha, I thought you would reply something different when you read "SS" 😉
Well it seems you have your own letter in German 🙃

Compared to Chinese or even northern European languages we have only a few different letters from English 😎
