The Fear Of Getting Banned: But Not On Hive

in LeoFinance2 years ago

It’s been over a year since I have been on the Hive blockchain, and while contemplating on platforms I have been on before I found Hive, I can’t help but really feel liberated and be grateful I am on the Hive blockchain. Because, Hive is absolutely the best Web 3.0 platform to be in right now. They might be others in the future but, right now, this is the right place to be. If you are obviously doing the right thing on the blockchain, like not plagiarizing or spreading hateful post and comments, you are good to go. You will totally enjoy the experience here.

Writing on Hive has been very therapeutic for me, and has been moments of learning, most importantly, the financial knowledge(it’s research and acquisition) all because I want to update my blog and keep up with my daily consistent blogging. But then, while blogging I have never had the fear of getting banned. Whenever I see successful people who make a living off Web 2.0 social media platforms like Twitter, Instagram or TikTok I can’t help but think of how close they are to losing their account and all their works if the platform decides that they have violated one rule or the other. This is the reason most of them have multiple backup accounts just so they can have them as backup, should incase any of their accounts get banned.

That is how you identify pure Web 2.0, they have access to your account and can ban anytime they want to, that is why I laugh when I see a platform pose as Web 3.0 but won’t hesitate to ban you. It’s like they didn’t even do their own research about what Web 3.0 is and what the full meaning of decentralization is while creating the platform. All they had to do was plaster Web 3.0 on the name and they think they are sleek. But won’t waste any second banning you the slightest chance they get.

In as much as Hive is decentralized, there still need to be some sense of orderliness so we don’t get people abusing the decentralized opportunity. That is why we have the downvote button, but it can be used as a weapon when having downvote wars. This is the only disadvantage I see on the blockchain.

I am too quick to start preaching Hive, aside the fact that you get rewarded for your post, it’s just how you have control over your own contents and don’t have to bother about approval or waking up one morning to receive a disappointing email from Hive saying your account have been banned. You can only lose the community’s trust and they will voluntarily downvote you, this doesn’t stop you from creating contents but they might not been seen because they have been rated as low quality due to downvotes.

All those so-called "Web 3.0" Twittards who claim to be "building on Web3 blah blah blah" while being on a Web 2.0 platform need to have this shoved down their throats. 😆 😁

😂 I hope they read my post and gain some wisdom.

Yay! 🤗
