The number of cryptocurrency holders in Serbia is on the rise, thanks to an increase interest from people who want access into crypto markets and growing awareness about digital assets. This year's decision by law makers have also contributed greatly towards this trend as they officially recognized cryptocurrencies for what they are - a legitimate form meant only one thing: buy them while you can!
Serbia, a nation of 7 million located in Southeast Europe is now among countries that view cryptocurrency as more than just something from the past. There are an estimated 200 thousand Serbs who own coins or tokens valued at $1 billion dollars!
Cryptocurrencies are becoming more popular in Serbia thanks to new legislation that recognizes them as virtual assets. Cryptos can be purchased and sold, transferred between parties or exchanged for other currencies on platforms like LocalBitcoins- the business news portal Ekapija reported this week.
A law was passed last month recognizing cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin from June 30th through July 1st . The Serbian legal system now officially recognizes these digital records of value with many people flocking towards cryptocurrency trading due its legalization.
Every month this year, we've seen a serious growth in the purchase and sale of cryptocurrencies. The market is definitely growing here in Serbia too--and we're not lagging behind some developed world markets!
The crypto trading platform is expecting to obtain permanent authorization from the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) in January 2021. Once fully licensed, it will also be able process payments with cryptocurrencies for goods and services on their site!
