As the card values and Market Cap shows its been an amazing journey for the Splinterlands game and its players/investors. The game itself has seen some major growth not just in card prices but in its player base as well. To all the players who just recently joined I'm here to tell you that you are not too late. You are still early to the party.

Yes the game has been around for three years. Yes we are going on our fourth edition of cards. None of that matters for you as an investor/player and here is why. Land was just introduced and has not been implemented in game yet. SPS (governance token) was just introduced and its use cases have not been fully implemented yet. The fourth edition of cards is coming just around the corner but has not been introduced yet.

You, YES YOU, the player who just joined this amazing game that is Splinterlands. As you can see you are still way ahead of the gamers that have yet to come. Come this time next year there will be players/investors just like you wishing they got in during the SPS airdrop. Wishing they got in at the beginning of the fourth edition of cards that is going to be known as Chaos Legion. Wishing they got in before the Land was implemented. So hang on to your Panties because the ride has just begun (Welcome to the party).

Wow! And I say again, Wow! It's a lot of fun to take a peek back in time and see how things have changed. Funny how all the Gold Foil Legendaries from 2019 show that they are level 1, but the current cards show level 2.

Good eye, I completely forgot about the Level display error for GFL cards.

Looking back is fun.

This is amazing! I have a question. This is not the first time I heard that Chaos Legion is coming soon, probably next month, probably by the end of the year... Is it better to buy the coming pack edition or better buy the Asmaré Dice edition? Thank you!

Dice edition USD price is very costly at the moment. The Splinterlands game always accepted 1000 DEC as $1 USD when making a payment directly to them (Purchasing Booster Packs). This is true even if the market value of DEC drops below $1/1000 DEC. Currently the USD marketvalue of DEC is very high which means the USD price of DICE is very high. There are players still buying the Dice packs but I'm not one of them.

I understand, I think it makes sense to wait then. Thank you so much!

Cards prices are going up so fast. This example is completely out of the normal way of things.

Up up and away they go.

Its been an insane journey for Splinterlands and its players/investors.

😍😂😂😂😂😂 you are right about it.

That is a very nice price increase. Do you think the prices will continue to go up at that rate or stabilize until the next packs are released?

I honestly have no clue where the ceiling is for these cards.

Alright so what's your position on gold cards below your regular foil's level? Rent and hope to level up one day or sell? Do you change your opinion if they are an older edition and thus going into a separate competition pool with the release of the new edition coming up?

I'm not positive what you are asking. Do you mean gold cards that aren't leveled to their summoners max stats? If so maxing cards to their summoners max level allowed doesn't guarantee a win. There's many different battle rule sets and in some of those rule sets placing a lower leveled card is more beneficial to placing one that is leveled up. I have got my Splinterlands butt handed to me a few times by a low level team that I should of stomped due to my opponents great team selection in our battles specific rule set.

Additional Combining Thoughts:

Each edition introduced will eventually run into the same issue of not enough cards left on market to max/level up cards. This is by design and is one of the many things that brings value to the cards and the game itself.

I was referring more to the situation in which your GF card doesn't get played because your RF is of a higher level. So basically, in the event that a GF is never played due to it not being the more powerful version.

Sorry, I didn't have my coffee today. I understand your question now.

There's gold foil tournaments in which only allow gold cards to be played. For tournament players this means there will always be a use for a gold foil that isn't as far leveled as your main leveled card. As you noted you could also rent it for some passive income. I hold many cards of different levels. I delegate some to random players / offer some for delegation in contest and giveaways / have others playing my alt accounts. There's many ways to utilize extra cards / cards that don't get used because you have a higher level of it in your account.

Okay so you would mainly advocate for finding a use for them rather than selling them on the market by the sound of it.

Its hard to put a direct answer to that. If you need the funds, sell the card. If the USD value of the card you hold is something you are satisfied for selling it for then go for it. If you think you can sell it and purchase some other needed cards or cards that you think might be a better investment then that would be a good move as well. Holding because they are shiny might also work out.

Feedback from the August 1st Hive Power Up Day

I'm just trying to take this all in as a newbie. I'm learning more from reading than playing so far but I was frustrating when the game started because I couldn't figure out how to even do daily quests. I'm the kind of guy who would have done them daily. I've been on Hive/Steem for over 4 years. I do that kind of stuff so I feel like I lost out. I appreciate your knowledge and hope to pick up some tips from you along the way.

hey mate there is definetely a direct correlation between the reward value of the SPS recieved and the value of the GFL themselves. I have been checking regularly and it doesnt appear to matter in a lot of cases how good or bad the card is necessarily there is a minimum value now of around $400 for any GFL good times!

I agree, prices of all things Splinterlands are now linked to SPS USD value.

Very Good Game
