HIVE / Leo on Coinswitch can provide living to many in India
This morning, my daughter was watching TV in my room, and I was busy with my work. Something sounded like Bitcoin to me, and my attention instantly shifted towards the TV. For the first time, I heard about Bitcoin on TV and when I asked her, she said she was watching some Youtube in which this ad came. I asked her to show me the ad again and it was very funny and promising. The ad was from Coinswitch and I did not know about them, so I did some further investigation and saw this new ad has been premiered by Coinswitch a day back. Digging further down, it is a start up by three people in 2020 with a goal of investing in crypto as easy as ordering food (You can read more here). And interestingly, they gained 250K users in the first 100 days of launch, with an investment of more than Rs 300 crore. Their focus is specifically on retail users.
Looking at their portfolio, they are being backed by quite a few big names in Crypto. They have recently partnershiped with Disney+ Hotstar for the next T20 season, and India being the biggest cricketing country in the world, I can foresee where they are heading.
CoinSwitch Kuber, cryptocurrency investment platform with over 3.5 million users, today announced a partnership with Disney+ Hotstar. CoinSwitch Kuber will be the associate sponsor on Disney+ Hotstar for the upcoming T20 season. The category exclusive partnership will offer the company widespread visibility amongst cricket fans, millions of whom are young, tech-savvy Indians who are expected to watch the matches online this season. The company will also debut a new ad campaign on Disney+ Hotstar as a part of the partnership. CoinSwitch Kuber’s logo is also being placed across all the promotional activities initiated by Disney+ Hotstar across print and digital mediums.
With this collaboration, CoinSwitch Kuber aims to create awareness among millions of cricket fans across the country about cryptocurrencies as an asset class they should consider while making investments.
So at one end, while there is fear about the regulators planning a harsh law, at the other end, these start-ups are spreading the awareness about crypto currencies to masses. And sometimes, it feels like the purpose of Covid 19 was to empower decentralization 🤓 When people are online most of the time, they will definitely explore better investment opportunities that can be done by themselves seamlessly. And Covid 19 made people learn the digital way. The success story of these start ups clearly reflect that.
The regulators have no valid reason to make a law banning crypto currencies, because nothing is illegal. People are definitely putting their KYC, to start so any time the Government wants, they can get details of all the transactions. And if more and more people are involved, the campaign to appeal the govt to regulate crypto will become stronger and the Government will have to rethink about their strategy, because everything in this country is driven by votes in the name of democracy.
If you are actively following me on twitter, then you know, I have been appealing to WazirXIndia and NischalShetty since long time to allow full listing of HIVE. But I think, since they have been now taken over by Binance, they probably have bigger interest not to fully list HIVE. So Coinswitch can use this as an opportunity, because people of India can start earning crypto without any investment. And once they are familiar, they will be more comfortable to even invest. There is already a strong representation from India on HIVE / LEO, so we just need an exchange which could benefit by partnering with us. It will be a WIN-WIN situation for both. And what could be a great time than this just before the @threespeak tokenization. Because many from India try to monetize their content on Youtube, once they know about @threespeak and have a mechanism to cash out the rewards instantly, we will see lot more traffic here.

Crypto is making its way to Indian users. In CNBC Awaz I see Crypto update from WazirX before every ad. And then we have CoinDCX which is again a good exchange in my opinion. I have to check if they have listed Hive or not.

Thank you for letting me know about CoinDCX - I think, we are about to head to a time, where exchanges would compete to enlist Hive / Leo.
I have seen a lot of Indians with huge followership on YouTube especially those tech ones. I believe 3speak and hive is another option for them. Meanwhile a lot of people are looking for means to earn passive income and ROI, what we have here on hive Should be good for them.

This is a nice ad for bitcoin and I am glad to see this type of innovation by Indian exchange.
I have seen your tweets about Hive wallet but as you said that it seems Nischal and his team is busy on some other things. I have an account with CoinDCX exchange and they have wallet enables for Hive and so far my experience with coinDCX is great.
This is right and I agree with your words. I have seen the number of users growing on leo and Hive from India I find it a good move.
Covid has contributed well for crypto in India and these days exchanges are getting hug number of new registration which is certainly a good. As of now not even 1% indians are in crypto so just imagine if in coming years we will be able to have 5% then things will move to the next level.

Never heard of CoinSwitch will check it out. But I agree HIVE/LEO will definitely change the Lives of many and not only in India but many other developing and developed countries as well. I strongly believe that HIVE is the future :-) Let's see how far can #HIVE go. cheers
