There's been quite a big noise with all DeFI projects lately. Most of them in Ethereum blockchain. Little by little EOS Blockchain is starting to emulate and just a few days ago Defibox was launched.
One of the biggest advantages of EOS against Ethereum is its free transactions and scalability. Several Uniswap tutorials have shown the potential of the protocol but they all show how fees are reaching values unacceptable.
Defibox is launched by the Defibox Foundation and is also invested and supported by Newdex the biggest EOS Decentralized Exchange as an investor. Defibox has launched two protocols, Swap and USN stable coin, more protocols will come soon such as decentralized lending and synthetic assets.
The swap protocol is very similar to Uniswap, but here EOS tokens are offered instead of ERC20 ones. The USN stablecoin protocol can be found in Danchor site. You can find direct links to both services on the Newdex webpage where BOX/EOS pair is already trading.
And the token information in MarketCap One
It will be interesting to see how DeFI platforms evolve in EOS in such a way they are doing in Ethereum, the free transaction may be key as more and more services join the party.
Despite I think EOS is getting late to the DeFi party, I think its protocol is more suitable for this kind of products.
I agree is kind of late, but fees in Ethereum hurt right now and that can be a problem for growth. It would be nice to get some interoperability between DeFI protocols in both blockchains.
