Well, after nine straight positive trading days the market was bound to trade lower at least once. It happening on the brink of clocking new all time highs was a bit of a suprise.
Sell off just shy of the euphoria?
Though we got a bearish engulfing candle on higher volume, I still find myself struggle to believe we see a sell off here wit the highs so close in sight. Doesn't mean we won't, lord knows the market is due for a sell off based on fundamentals, but we all know that can be moot for much longer than anyone would expect.
Today's sell off was all in the last hour or so, which leaves me a skeptic on there being follow through the rest of the week. We shall see.

I think it was just the announcement of Kamala as Biden's running mate, strong bounce back in overnight trading.
