The Long-Term Benefit of Onboarding People to Leofinance.io (and CubDefi)

in LeoFinance3 years ago (edited)

Over the past few months I have been consistently onboarding friends and associates to the platform leofinance suite of products.

This was further amplified with the launch of CubDefi. The majority of these were by request, the universe is bringing them to me essentially.

Much Time, Much Effort...

Being nearly all these people I consider friends I have helped get them setup on LEO and then with Cub.

Now for anyone that has been in crypto, you know that onboarding someone that has no crypto experience directly into leofinance and then CubDefi really isn't the natural route of progression.

The majority of us here we're into crypto for a bit before leofinance and especially cub finance existed.

Even for the crypto veteran, you can still get a little confused starting out on these platforms.

Needless to say these onboards take some time and are usually one on one or one on a few at most.

The follow up questions last for weeks as well.

So you might wonder, if this is taking that much effort and time, why am I doing it?

The growth of the community is the dividend

That is the beauty of all this. I'm not being paid to spend several hours with each of these people. Atleast right now I am not, but that is where the beauty of leofinance is.

As I onboard people it leads to more people for me to curate. It also leads to more people that can vote my posts as well.

Now granted, I do not expect anyone I onboard to vote me, but odds are most of them will because my account in a way is their "genesis block." It is the first account they see when learning about how to function and operate on LEO since it is being used as the example when teaching about LEO.

Rising tide lifts all boats

Additionally, the more this community grows, the more demand that comes, the more investment that is made - the more growth for everyone. And that includes me!

Thus, each person I can onboard is one little piece in the grand scheme of this communities growth.

In the long run, all that time and effort will be compensated. Which is a beautiful thing because I can help out friends and associates and theoretically get compensated without it really costing them anything.

Now that sounds like a Win-Win. And those scenarios are awesome!

Here's to the growth of leofinance and all its offshoots!

I think you got a point! I found it nearly impossible to do without help and I think the leo finance community is hard to crack into especially blogging like a newb which is generally ignored....! big up though to @crystalhuman who helpped me alot on discord! I hope I can help people in the future as the gwoth of all the communities will be a strength and rising tides raise all boats....

As I always say holding LEO means your an investor in the platform. It's your best interest to support, promote and build the platform as every action will increase the value of your LEO you hold.

Everyone has their own specialties so put them to good use.
Writing great articles
Training
Helping each other in the discord
Leaving valuable comments
Promoting your articles across as many channels as possible
Marketing and Onboarding
DeFi and so much more.

Find out what you're good at and enjoy doing and put it to work here at LEO!

Hell yeah man! That's the ticket! Personally, the issue is I'm doing all of those! hahaha.

lol, I feel that I've been trying to balance it out better myself because I was seriously getting burned out last week. Feeling good after taking a bit of a break over the weekend though. Keep crushing it but remember to take some time for yourself.

So appreciative for all your help Mitch! You spent a lot of time on boarding me and answering my follow up noob questions. You are an example of how great the leofinance community is and why I continue to invest here. Thanks again!

Leo to the moon my friend!

I think onboarding will be a lot easier once Project Blank arrives. Everyone can tweet. Not everyone can blog. Even fewer people can blog about crypto/finance.

For someone who hasn't been in crypto and gets directly to Leofinance it's gonna be a bit of a overwhelming experience. There's a lot of new stuff and terms in here that are hard to digest for such a new user. As for onboarding friends I have only done that with one back in the Steemit age. He only posted twice 😄

Yes, straight throwing people in the deep end! Here ya go learn how to swim LOL

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Sometimes that works 😁

Stake and stake some more. Seems like a lot of people that have been here a while mixed with some new people keen to make a community happen.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

True indeed!

I was able to get a couple of people joined up about a month ago. The one has been doing some regular posting, but I don't think the other one has yet. I know it can be intimidating. I work with the one guy, so I have been able to have some really good conversations with him a couple times a week and help guide him on the platform.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Yeah, only an couple of posting the rest have been straight investors and put a decent chunk of capital into grabbing up LEO and Cub to stake.

Wow, that is crazy. I guess good for us no matter what anyway.

JI love this because you highlighted most of what I do as well, thanks to the publicity crypto is getting now, more people want to listen to me, more people refer others to me,....after so long of my shouting. And funny enough its not even like I know so much, but I know what I know....and most of that are stuff I've learnt being active on Hive, even now I only know so much, but I know better than a lot.
Super cool

Funny how that works, isn't it? ;-)

This is the most beautiful symbiosis, this is totally real and spam-free engagement

Growth of the Community benefits us lol through more people reading, more people voting and more people buying and potentially powering up Leo...
I see my ten 20% upvoted of Newbies every morning as an investment in my investment, along with being good for the community. But I have shifted to focusing on ten votes of one Leo, so it is meaningful.!

for me, this is extremely difficult. I have tried it a lot of times but people come and go. The main reason is that they don't want to put the effort into learning and stuff. I then suggest delegation but even this was tough for them given the unstake time limit.

Thus, it's easier for them and they prefer to simply hold a coin and that's it :P I don't have to tell you cause you already know the time it takes to help someone out regarding cryptos :p

I appreciate your onboarding efforts. It is indeed a win for those you onboard, the LEO Finance ecosystem, yourself, and the HIVE Blockchain Network as a whole. Kudos!

Keep doing what you're doing mate.

The community appreciates your work :)

Thanks mate!

Great work.

I did a lot of that at the time of Steemit. Between 2018/2019, I was still teaching computer classes to beginner classes, most of them young people. When I got to internet classes I would present Steemit to them, the whole idea, how it worked, and a brief explanation about blockchain. I even wrote a post about this project at the time. Unfortunately no one went on for long, most people just want something easy or the distractions that other social networks give us. Among all the people I helped, commented and introduced, at least one colleague had a good income. She no longer writes, she is no longer active and works in another business today, but she was very happy to be able to withdraw practically half a minimum wage here than she had in her old accounts, especially in a month where she had to spend on medicine . And that made me very happy, very much with any other financial reward I have ever had. Having helped, impacted someone's life, no matter how small, we already make a huge difference. And even if many give up, we must continue to do ours, which is to speak, and demonstrate. Because at one time or another, we hit someone and help them in a better life.

Exactly, that is why FB and Twitter are popular. The more seamless we can make leo the more people we can attract.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Thanks for onboarding.

New user on-boarding is a challenge in itself. It will be easy if the new user is familiar with blockchain, but if user don't understand blockchain and crypto, it will take a long time to explain..

As I onboard people it leads to more people for me to curate. It also leads to more people that can vote my posts as well.

I agree, this is a form of our responsibility in fostering and supporting them, the problem is if we as people who invite others to join in the crypto world are still small, in terms of leo power or hive power.
