STEEM Power Down done: powering up HIVE + stacking Satoshi's

Yesterday my last STEEM Power Down finished - a last transfer to @huobi-pro, a last time thinking about what to do with that 'extra' money I held - having worked for it for quite a long time, as well as buying small bits regularly, it felt weird to see STEEM as 'extra' money but over the past 13 weeks I got used to it. And now, when it's finally 'done', I almost feel sad I won't have this weekly dose of dopamine of seeing liquid money that I can use as I please.

The brain works in mysterious ways.

HIVE Power Up

Of course part of the STEEM I sold went into HIVE. I bought at several price points but was able to buy HIVE for max 2 STEEM. I still hold a small bit of STEEM and HIVE on Huobi for trading purposes, I'm not really an aggressive trading but it's nice to snatch a few wins every now and then when opportunities arise :-) I hope to power up a little more HIVE in the future but I'm currently sitting nicely at 31000 HIVE after the last Power Up - it used to feel impossible to get to 5K, then 10K, then 20K... But here I am. I have no real ambitious growth goals as I'm quite happy where I am. Everything extra is a bonus.

Buying Satoshi's

Part of the STEEM Power Down went into stacking some Satoshi's. Diversifying is always a great idea and having some of that 'digital Gold' available in a wallet feels nice - a bit of a no-brainer even. Bitcoin will always hold some appeal even if for sentimental reasons, and I am joining in the fun by holding a small amount of BTC myself as well. I've been selling STEEM for BTC and buying HIVE from there - but because buying HIVE is such an easy thing to do I 'helped' myself quite early by sending some of that BTC to a wallet - can't sell that BTC now, Rosa, can you?

Play money - automated BTC-USDT/C trading

I also decided to put some of that BTC in Ember, an app that set up a fund for automated trading between BTC and USDT/C. It needs a 400$/BTC equivalent to work, as they will need a certain minimum for the exchanges to accept the trades, so that's what I started with. The idea is to have a long-term trading advantage where you take less losses than wins, in the end ending up with more BTC/USDT/C then you started with. Every time BTC takes a big jump up or down you either hedge in USDT/C or take some BTC winnings. I felt like I could only win by putting some BTC in the fund and look back at it in a few months to see what I ended up with. No financial advice, and I'm only doing this as I wrote a part of my STEEM Power Down off as 'playing money', but here's some reference material and if you like the idea you can sign up via my referral link - we'll both earn 1% of every portfolio investment you make up to 100$ - received in BTC of course, so another Satoshi Stacking Strategy!

Slow and steady is the way to go

Nothing I do is aggressive or meant to grow fast - but by slowly adding Hive to my Hive Power, adding BTC to my wallet but also to a nice automated trading fund, I can see my holdings grow over time. The STEEM Power Down certainly helped me get hold of some money that I didn't need to pay off bills but could spend in ways that I felt would grow my portfolio over time - especially BTC had always been 'a means of trading' so far, while now I can see myself HODL a bit for future spending when the time is right.

How about you? What did you spend your STEEM Power Down on? Is yours done to or are you still powered up completely/partly?

Nice!!!

Mine is done on Friday. It'll suck not having that 'free bank' to play with every week, but I've found other ways to keep the new HIVE rolling in 😀

Congrats on being rid of 'you know what' lol

@jongolson - Wh00p! Congratz on the final Power Down this Friday :D Yeah, the free bank was nice for a while, I felt spoiled knowing that I had everything I had before plus bonus money. What's your main way of keeping the Hive rolling in at the moment?

I brought my business to HIVE. So my platform is fully integrated with HIVE training. Which in turn sends people to the CTP Tribe on Hive Engine, miner sales etc...

Plus our payment integration script accepts CTP Tokens on about 50 different websites and growing every day :)

Yes, so I didn't miss anything, you're still going strong on CTP - super happy for you as it's pretty amazing you were able to bring your business to Hive :D Congratz on your success and growth Jon! <3

Working hard :)

Dragging them to HIVE even if it kills me lolol

I am still powering down even though I had a small account on STEEM. However, the hardfork of HIVE has been great for me in that all I am doing is swapping STEEM for HIVE and then powering up on HIVE. By the time it is all over I hope to have at least 2000 HP.

Congratz on the (almost) 2000 HP @handofzara! This has absolutely been an opportunity to grow your stake in the platform and I'm glad you did :-) It will pay off in time. Cheers on your growth <3

I think it's a relief that finally we're rid of steem and well concentrating on hive. Cheers on your power up really.

Yes, it's a relief, the platform feels empty and as unfamiliar despite having spend so much time there. I can now close steempeak.com and don't have to look back as much anymore :-) Cheers to you too @josediccus!

I'm doing some little power ups too and I think with time I'll change my password for hive and well focus fully on hive as well.

I almost feel sad I won't have this weekly dose of dopamine of seeing liquid money that I can use as I please.

Its been quite a ride, some of us can thank Justin, some got robbed. Now were are free from tyranny, we can say what we like.

Yes, this ride has had a few very extreme outcomes. I guess overall this has been a win for most people: they now have Hive or others feel happier on Steem. But some people were robbed and a few core members have completely left both Steem/Hive. A huge gamble it was!

I can count on one hand the people I did interact with who have shunned HIVE and kept on STEEM. Even those ones, I have wished well and told them to move over when they realize what a farce it all is.

Yes, from the people I interacted with I also only know a handful still on Steem. There were other groups active that also considered themselves 'the'/'a' community and they're still happy on Steem - and not missing us downvoting bitches at all from what I see :D

It looks like a lot of people started their power-downs on exactly the same day :)
Welcome to the club of steemless people ;)

Haha, yes! The day they announced the 4-week powerdown lots of people started a 'fresh' one, so we're all done this week I guess :D And thanks!

I have transferred almost all steem to Hive ; Only some1800 steem left in 2 accounts. A dip in Hive can be expected when all steem transferers are done... On steem trending is now mostly an Asian affair I noticed.

Ha, yes, price might plummet a little for sure! We'll see - There's also still a small chance that Sun pumps STEEM, or, opposite, makes STEEM a token on Tron. Nothing is certain :D Cheers!

My last “big” powerdown (2186 SP) is just over five hours away. I’ll then have 63 left in my main account and 66 in an alt account that I’ve rarely used. Almost all of the Steem I’ve gotten out is now powered-up Hive with a bit having been used for donations and Hive-Engine tokens. I’ve pretty much written off Steem but since the occasional Actifit post I do for Hive also post to the Steem blockchain (but not to Steemit itself where I’m now an Unperson) I guess I might still have a tiny trickle of earnings from there until Justin burns the place to the ground.

Wh00p! 5 hours is over so you'll be done powering down by now. I still hold 70+ and 20+ SP in my two accounts on Steem, so I can still transact whenever that would be necessary :-) And indeed, autovoting is on still so I guess that means some curation rewards, although small, will still trickle in. Never a bad thing :-) Curious to see what Sun's move will be, he's not talking about Steem so far, but that might change once his enemies are gone :-)

That's really nice. Honestly, I think am probably going on the same road. My PD on Steem will take another few weeks and already made some use of the ones that I got.
While I was not aware of EMBER but it sounds like a nice project to dive into (Will look into it).
Besides, I am altering some of my time into trading nowadays and so far it's going great. Diversifying and stacking up some Satoshi and few alt's with those profits. Let's see how all goes but the priority is HIVE & BTC at all times.

Diversifying is always a good idea @rehan12! If you're interested in more or less passive trading Ember is interesting, next to the BTC-USDT/C fund they also have portfolios of professional traders you can follow - the app will give you a notification and it will do the trading for you. Anyway, lots of opportunities, even for those that don't want to spend too much time figuring out charts :-)

Nice! My final steem power down should be next Friday. Once its done it's all being converted to hive! Let's do this!

Wh00p! Congratz :D

Expensive percent at EMBER. You can use PROBIT if you want but still, as you preferred... I admire you. You are so good in tradings.

Yes, EMBER isn't really for active trading, it's more passive trading for those that don't like charts so much :-)

My dopamine :( :(

But I do have a new bicycle, a small slice of BTC, and a fair amount of HIVE 😁

Wh00p! A new bicycle even! :D Seems like you diversified towards tangible products as well, good for you :D

Sounds like a solid plan @soyrosa. I'm also stacking some Satoshis and man it feels good to own some!
Hive is the best crypto to put your money in right now! You can earn so much more Hive even if you don't blog. Just upvoting and delegating to services does the trick! A no-brainer investement if you ask me plus I like to put my money (Powered Down Steem) where my mouth is!

Have a great day and much love from sunny Greece!

Hive and BTC it is @knowhow92! HIVE of course being way more exciting because we can earn from it even more by using it! Wow, what kind of goldmine are we sitting on :D

Cheers back to sunny Greece!

So happy to be reading your post dear.

Slow and steady is the way to go

Thank you for reminding me this. My hive journey will slow and steady unlike steem.

Looking forward to thriving on Hive together :)

I think a lot of people are just about out of Steem now. I am one of those too. Last big power down is today. I spent most of it on Hive, but took some out and spent some on Splinterlands cards. I may even get to be a Hive orca this year.

We are also done today my friend,
Didn't have much, but put it all in Hive!

Happy to hear it. Steem was good for a while, but it shows nothing is forever. Time to move on.

Yes you are right my friend.
Everything has a season and when it's over, it is time to go!

I was intrigued by your mention of @huobi-pro

I went to his page and even checked his wallet. Lots of action, but no explanation. How do you arrange to give him the Steem for Hive?

Hey arthur.grafo13, that's the Hive account of huobi.com, so if you withdraw HIVE on Huobi.com it will be sent to your wallet via @huobi-pro :-)

If you want to trade STEEM for HIVE you would need to send STEEM to Huobi, then trade for HIVE, and send it over here :-)

Mine will be complete in a few hours :) A decent chunk has gone into my Hive Power, the rest used for covering my real life expenses :D Happy to see you being over 30k HP now but that means you are beating me again, damn! :D

Hurray! Glad you were able to add to your Hive Power but also spend some IRL :D Makes it feel like real money eh?

And sorry for beating you AGAIN :P

Hehe it does feel like real money :D

No need to apologize for beating me again :D I think you will be always beating me actually as you buy Hive too here and there while I only grow through what I earn here ;)

Collecting satoshis too :D

YES! They're nice and shiney :D (at least in my mind they look like gold :D)

Congrats, we also finished today.
Not much but put it all in Hive!

Congratz @papilloncharity! :D I think we underestimate what is 'a lot', if prices rise it will feel completely different :-)

Well, we have struggled on for 3 years, and we will contnue, as we are not quitters my friend.
Once again, well done and take care!

Huobi is doing a great job, but I was much more confident in the blocktrades.us exchange of steem. The future of hive is 100 times sure now than steem

@soyrosa, I saw this few minutes ago and I will like to contribute too. My own power down will definitely come to an end next week Thursday but it seems it has a very big space it is filling up though. I spent little of it with my completed wooden poultry cage with I spent alot on it and also stocking it up too was a little bit fair for me. Morealso, I used part of it too for Powering up on Hive using @swap.app for a quick exchange for ease.
