I went to a casino this week, had some good luck playing blackjack, won a few grand.
I took a picture of my chips and had a random thought.
These chips in my hand are completely useless. But, in this specific casino, these chips are cash.
When you go to the bar, you can pay with chips. When you go to the restaurant, you can pay with chips. When you go to the gift shop, you can pay with chips.
And of course, in order to play, you must exchange money for these chips, and at any time, you can exchange these chips for currency.
This made me think of all the different places that have their own unique currencies.

Popfestivals work with similar chips. And in German roadhouses the 70 cent vouchers you get when you pay for the toilet are accepted in whole of Germany as cash in the roadrestaurants. I still have some laying around here ;)
