Crypto Future Depends on you.
It's not that simple of course. There are many levels to a blockchain and what it can do. Currently though, as of this moment even bitcoin is nothing more than an I O U. To say otherwise is only to fool yourself. Exactly like the US Dollar, it is nothing more than an I O U slip.
Crypto depends on people, but!, can the people depend on any crypto? As a currency right now things are too unstable on markets for a currency to come about.
After all what is the point of Crypto if not to remove the stranglehold held over finance. If that ambition has been forgotten and Crypto has become merely a pump and dump profiting scheme. I will tell you now Crypto has failed and will only replace current systems with a new controlled system with greater success of controlling everything about your life.
All that has been done so far with Crypto is a mirror image of wall street. Just different actors playing the parts.
Crypto is only one part of a broken system tat is in need of repair. The foundations built now. Need to be built strong enough to support what will be built over the next 50 years. If consideration for the future of 50 years time is not there. Then already we are starting to fall behind.
There might never be a perfect time to begin something, One thing is for sure though. There is constantly a wrong time not to do something. Each day not doing something is the wrong time.
I am not forgetting improvements that have been made to the code. I am also not forgetting other dapps that have been developed. Games that have sprung up on the chain through group or community discussion. The different front ends that have populated the chain. There are many things that have taken place to improve on what Hive can be. There is no disputing that.
Is it any more secure of a coin though? Yes there are a few outlets that accept HIVE or HBD as a payment system. Encouragement to use HBD as a currency should be in place.
Currently playing about with the purchase and sale of HBD and HIVE to keep the HBD at a 1 dollar peg is a joke. Creating a false strength of an economy is never a good thing. The ability to spend at 1 dollar value is what is needed. An assurance that when you exchange HBD for another currency or item it will be done so with agreement that the receiver of the token will get that same value back when they exchange the HBD. We can make that happen.
Redeemable value has to hold some security
This wish of an Angel investor. The hope that someone will come along and have enough to push Hive into the mainstream flow. The thing is when if something like that happens, People will disagree with what this new entity will want to do. With so much investment how secure is the chain? Is that not the same reason the chain forked. Now wait for another billionaire to come along and invest. Does that mean another fork?
Another fork for the same reason would kill the chain all together I think.
What needs to be built next is the support for the chain going forward. We need to bring about the end user. We need to make the end user us, Hive as a blockchain.

I think the end user is pretty foremost in a lot of the developers minds eyes, and in the improvements being made to the foundation layer. When users can make request to the developers of any application on Hive and get results that is good. When the end user can voice opinions and get real feed back as to why something can or can not be done at the foundational levels that is good. I personally fell the base layer developers do listen and do a pretty good job at explaining the why when people bother to take the time to ask.
One thing I wish for Hive is that there was a place for people to ask, but no one it seems want to have a centralized place for those questions, I guess they feel it goes against the 100% de-centralized mind set.
The end user right now still needs to convert the HBD to fiat to carry on. There are things that work on the Hive blockchain and you can use HBD or HIVE on them, But ultimately, the end user converts to FIAT to carry on and support their way of life.
