Interesting idea, but the stabilizer is quite important. Maybe a new proposal? Also it would have to be rather a lot to make some sort of impact as Hives volume and supply is in the millions.
On the other hand I am not sure if burning makes much of an impact - one could also argue that inflation, when put it in the right hands, could be just as beneficial as that could ignite more demand when it's usage increases
