In the last few weeks since the mention of microblogging dapp in build by the LeoFinance team and the consequent pseudo identification as #ProjectBlanks, so much has been written about this development and every LeoFinance user is already in high preparation for the launch even when we are yet to get the actual announcement for the launch of the dapp. I chose to call it the Twitter Killer based on the eveal information that it would serve contents like tweets and it would allow for all content types unlike leofinance.io which is dedicated for crypro and finance contents.
With #ProjectBlank already bringing some Hive users who never used leofinance.io to buy up LEO and power them up in wait for the promised BLANK airdrop to LEO, LEOM, and LEOMM stakeholders. The eyes of everyone are all up to see an official update from the @LeoFinance or Khal's blog. Whilw brainstorming on why everyone is getting interested on #ProjectBlank amid the suspense it leaves with us, I decided to check on whether there exists a word like "suspense marketing". Amazingly, there is and its the first time I ever read about it. I know Techno-economists like @Taskmaster4450 could tell more about it.
According to Brand Poets, suspense marketing is about getting the attention of and energizing the people who will ultimately become your customers (and hopefully your lifelong fans). This marketing strategy Keeps your consumers at the forefront of your mind.
From the research I've made, it's evident that Suspense marketing is a marketing strategy that helps a product manufacturer to create a buzz about the product on build. It is more relevant in online marketing campaigns and sometimes it involves setting up of dedicated hashtags, making frequent updates and getting the message out to see who and who is interested in the product.
Suspense marketing, otherwise called "Anticipation marketing" is important to create an up-front excitement like we already have about #ProjectBlank. Today @hykss called noted that Leomarkettalk is a sandbox for ProjectBlank. Users who are frequent with the leomarkettalk would agree that there's no day passing without a mention of microblogging in that chat. With this buzz set here on Hive and on Twitter, we already have "customers queuing up" for BLANKS.
Building online buzz takes work, but it’s well worth it. Think about how companies like Apple get huge coverage before they launch a product. Rumors swirl, excitement builds and then—bang! Apple announces the product (which still isn’t going to be available for another six months), and hysteria breaks out. When Apple finally does ship the product, they sell millions of units in the first few days. In fact, when Apple released the iPhone 6, they sold 10 million units in the first weekend alone. - source
The hit point of suspense marketing is to keep an element of mystery of the product to be launched while hinting at great things soon to come. Other ways could be by sharing sneak previews without giving away too much. We see Khal and hos team do a lot of these about the much anticipated #ProjectBlank.
The essence is to spur our innate interest in the unclear, unexplained or unknown aspect of the "big project". The dramatic tension so far created around the product is what makes everyone want to be a part of it and perhaps be the first to say some "public" things about the new product in the crypto and socialmedia space.
Suspense marketing is gonna help your team make a huge sale of your new product. I am personally anticipating a big sale for BLANKS in the coming weeks. It's the next big thing to happen on Hive. How much LEO, LEOM, LEOMM do you have on stake? BLANKS would be airdroped to stakeholders.
