Africa has witnessed a spike in the demand for cryptocurrencies and particularly bitcoin in recent years as a hedge against its failing economies. Quartz Africa berates that Nigeria is now the No.2 bitcoin market on this fast-growing global marketplace source. That would be true owing to the fact that a once African giant in terms of education, economy and security has been so upturned to the rear. Everything gets messy by the day as the Naira continues to lose value against dollar. Cryptocurrency has come to be a way out of the economic downturn and many unemployed persons can get gainfully employed with a platform like Hive.

It's on record that during the last year's police brutality protests protest, prying eyes of the government were on the bank accounts of those on the fore of the protest and some of their accounts were shut. The young, tech-savvy protesters had to rely on Bitcoin as option to receive sponsorship to around 40% of the nearly $400,000 raised. That was a show of how crypto can reduce the censorship ability of government when it comes to finance.

Today, another heavy line dropped on Instagram as Davido, one of Africa's finest music stars hinted his interest in Bitcoin trading.

With 8.8 million followers, Davido made this "cryptic" tweetyesterday on Twitter. As at the time of submitting this post, his tweet has already generated massive engagement on Twitter and has earned over 5.6k comments, 68.1k likes and 8.5k retweeets. He is regarded as one of the top artists in Nigeria and has shown key interest in bitcoin in recently and could contagiously be the thoughts of his followers and colleagues in the entertainment industry.

One can say that he could be motivated by Elon Musk's tweet which had the whole Twitter bullish for Bitcoin.

According to Bitcoin Street Journal, Cryptocurrency is gaining Steam in the music industry and that several global artists have expressed their interest in holding crypto-assets. One of such is the Grammy award winner Akon, who is a major proponent of the adoption of cryptocurrencies.

With the afore, Davido’s endorsement and consequent sorjourn into the crypto industry will be a huge one for the adoption of bitcoin in Africa. This is imminent as the Nigerian singer is the most followed African artist on all social media platforms and this coming from him could trigger mainstream adoption of Bitcoin across Africa.

All they know is Bitcoin

Hive, like I've been saying is already operating in the capacity of Bitcoin and even beyond in terms of usecase. With the many and more to come tokens hinged on the Hive blockchain, we'll soon see them gather up to give Hive a huge market value beyond what top alt tokens have. LEO for instance is under 2 years but is worth over $3 m and SPORTS over $6m. Put all tokens together, we'll have a market cap. over $100m while we're yet at the very beginning. As @Rondras would often say that Hive is a movement

With a fast, scalable and powerful blockchain like Hive, the music lovers can create their choice niche and token to power their projects and even fan tokens for their supporters. I hope he sees the comment by Belemo which is on top of the tweet's comment section.

We are in the very beginning of things. let's see the entrance of the entertainment sector and sports into the cryptosphere and its mass adoption reshape things to passionate highs.

It is a good thing that most people in the entertainment industry are buying into the crypto world which will also help them create awareness and help the industry grow faster.

We have very dedicated fans there. I presume it could be Davido's tweet about BTC that made CBN to hurry to announce the ban.

Hmmmmm, We really don't know but I guess there could be some truth in that.

I love the fact that Davido has said this. I'm sure he's tapping in on the hype to actually buy in. He's got a massive follower base, and imagine him tweeting about hive or so. Nigeria is actually crypto friendly but then banks and cooperate entities needs to entirely adopt crypto.

It's getting interesting that crypto is getting appealing to everyone now. The future looks merrier and I think $500k BTC is possible.
