Dazu kommt kälteres Wetter (mehr Heizen) und für Wiener Verhältnisse ist es im Moment ungewöhnlich windstill (mehr Feinstaub).
Normalerweise sorgt der starke Wind in Wien den Feinstaub zu zerstreuen.
Was sagt ihr dazu? Was könnte man tun, um die Feinstaub-Belastung in Großstädten zu reduzieren?
Mögliche Ideen: Vor dem Erreichen eines ungesunden Levels, Einschränkung von Verbrennungen (Verbrenner-Autos, Holz/Pallet-Heizungen und Fernwärme, Müllverbrennung) an Reifen forschen, die weniger Feinstaub erzeugen, Feinstaub-Filter bei Industrieanlagen bzw. Feinstaub-Capture-Anlagen errichten, die idealerweise mit grünem Strom betrieben werden?

Fine dust warning in Vienna, according to the weather app, unhealthy concentrations of PM2.5 (56 micrograms/m^3) were reached in Vienna today, which is fine dust that is mainly caused by traffic, heating (also wood and pallets, district heating) and the abrasion of tires and brakes (also from electric cars).
In addition, the weather is colder (more heating) and the wind is unusually calm for Vienna at the moment (more particulate matter).
Normally, the strong wind in Vienna disperses the particulate matter.
What do you think? What could be done to reduce particulate matter pollution in large cities?
Possible ideas: Before (!) reaching an unhealthy level, restricting combustion (combustion cars, wood/pallet heating and district heating, waste incineration) research on tires that produce less particulate matter, build particulate matter filters at industrial plants or build particulate matter capture plants that ideally run on green electricity?

Well, green energy, obviously (green energy is also from nuclear plants, but it were Austrians who used to block the border trying to make us shut down Temelín Nuclear Power Plant 😜).
Agree, was stupid to not embrace nuclear power, considering we need 10x electricity if we want to transition heating and mobility to clean energy.
The solution is for humanity to be a little more intelligent, but I'm afraid that's not possible.
We have to live like our grandparents and the problem is solved. Oops, I think I said that out loud.
Is there actually any solution to this?
Yes, longterm transitioning to electric heating, mobility and industry with 100% green/renewable/nuclear power.
