Gestern fand wieder ein Bitcoin Meetup in Wien statt. Thema war "Bitcoin in El Salvador" und als Special-Gast war die mega sympathische Botschafterin der Republik El Salvador, Julia Villatoro, zu Besuch.
Das Interesse war sehr groß und das Panel, das vor Kurzem das "Bitcoin-Land" besucht hat, wurde regelrecht mit Fragen durchlöchert.
Wie funktioniert die Chivo-Wallet, wann wird Bitcoin auch als Unit-Of-Account verwendet, kann man die Steuern auch in Bitcoin zahlen, wie viele Chivo-User gibt es, etc.
Leider gibt es noch keine offiziellen Zahlen zur Bitcoin-Nutzung in El Salvador, aber ich denke, dass das Interesse zunehmen wird und der Bärenmarkt könnte auch eine Chance sein, in Bitcoin günstig einzusteigen.
Was wirklich zählt ist, dass El Salvador als erstes Land der Erde den mutigen und innovativen Schritt gesetzt hat, neben dem US-Dollar auch Bitcoin als Zahlungsmittel zu akzeptieren. Das ist einfach unglaublich 💖
Nayib Bukele konnte dieses Jahr leider nicht bei der Bitcoin-Konferenz in Miami teilnehmen, da das Land derzeit wieder verstärkt mit der Gang-Kriminalität zu kämpfen hat.
Aber es wurde eine Bitcoin-Konferenz in El Salvador angekündigt, "Adopting Bitcoin" am 15-17. November 2022 in San Salvador.
Füge "El Salvador besuchen, in El Salvador Urlaub machen" in meine To-do-Liste hinzu :)

Yesterday another "in-person" Bitcoin Meetup took place in Vienna. The topic was "Bitcoin in El Salvador" and as a special guest the super friendly ambassador of the Republic of El Salvador, Julia Villatoro, was visiting us.
The interest was very high and the panel, who recently visited the "Bitcoin country", was literally riddled with questions.
How does the Chivo wallet work, when is Bitcoin also used as a unit-of-account, can taxes also be paid in Bitcoin, how many Chivo users are there, etc.?
Unfortunately, there are no official figures on Bitcoin usage in El Salvador yet, but I think interest will only increase and the bear market could also be an opportunity to get into Bitcoin cheaply.
What really matters is that El Salvador was the first country in the world to take the bold and innovative step of accepting Bitcoin as legal tender alongside the US dollar. This is simply amazing 💖
Nayib Bukele unfortunately could not attend the Miami Bitcoin conference this year, as the country is currently struggling again with gang crime.
But a Bitcoin conference has been announced in El Salvador, "Adopting Bitcoin" on November 15-17, 2022 in San Salvador.
I will add "visit El Salvador, vacation in El Salvador" to my to do list :)

For el salvador mining or cheap energy, selling would be 100x smarter than buying bitcoin.
In worst case they need to sell at the bottom at some point because the government needs to raise $$$.
