Noch ist die Karte ziemlich grau, aber mit El Salvador ist das erste Land orange geworden, was schon eine kleine Sensation ist und noch viele Auswirkungen haben wird.
Bitcoin als digitales Gold hat sich die letzten Jahre als Asset-Klasse etabliert, aber dass Bitcoin auch als blitzschnelles und ultragünstiges Zahlungsmittel eingesetzt werden kann, daran haben die Wenigsten geglaubt.
Möglich wird dies mit dem Bitcoin Lightning-Netzwerk und benutzerfreundlichen Custodial-Wallets.
Die Idee ist, dass nicht jeder User einen eigenen Lightning-Node betreiben muss, sondern dass man sich einen Anbieter wie Strike aussucht, der das für einen übernimmt.
Damit entfällt das komplizierte Setup und auf die Art könnte Lightning tatsächlich funktionieren. Wer hätte das gedacht? Nachteil ist, dass man dadurch ein Stück an Dezentralität verliert und dutzende Hubs auf der Welt die Aufgabe von traditionellen Zahlungsanbietern übernehmen könnten. Zu einem Bruchteil (!) der bisherigen Kosten.
Die Sensation ist auch, dass ein kleines Startup (Strike) den Zahlungsverkehr von einem ganzen Land abwickeln könnte. Etwas, das die EZB bis jetzt nicht auf die Reihe gekriegt hat oder dafür Jahre oder Jahrzehnte brauchen würde. Das ist schon heftig.
Was sagt ihr dazu? Denkt ihr, dass noch weitere Länder dem Beispiel folgen werden oder dass die US-Regierung und der IWF die Ambitionen, unabhängiger vom Dollar zu werden, mit Sanktionen stoppen werden?

The map is still quite gray, but with El Salvador the first country has turned orange, which is already a small sensation and will have many more implications in the future.
Bitcoin as digital gold has established itself as an asset class in recent years, but few people believed that Bitcoin could also be used as a lightning-fast and ultra-cheap payment system.
This is made possible with the Bitcoin Lightning network and user-friendly custodial wallets.
The idea is that not every user has to operate their own Lightning node, but that you choose a provider like Strike that does the heavy lifting for you.
This eliminates the complicated setup and in this way Lightning could actually work. Who would have thought that? The downside is that you lose a bit of decentralization and dozens of hubs around the world could take over the role of traditional payment providers. At a fraction (!) of the cost.
The sensation is also that a small startup (Strike) could handle the payments of an entire nation. Something that the ECB hasn't managed to do yet or would take years or decades to implement. That's quite remarkable.

Ja, einige Länder mit ähnlicher Situation sollen bereits darüber nachdenken. Ist nur eine Frage der Zeit!
Das denke ich auch, bin schon gespannt, welches Land als nächstes folgt, in Europa würde sich vielleicht die Schweiz oder San Marino anbieten, beide nicht in der EU, daher wäre es zumindest theoretisch denkbar.

Irgendwie ist die Webseite nicht auf dem neuesten Stand? In Österreich und Deutschland ist Bitcoin auch als Zahlungsmittel reguliert.
