@hatoto hat mich dazu mit einem Posting inspiriert, der seinen ersten Tweet für $1 (ETH 0.0006) verkauft hat. Der Käufer hat $10 an Gas-Fees bezahlt, mehr als für den Tweet selbst.
Das Ganze läuft über die Valuables DApp von Cent, bezahlt wird mit Ethereum, die Metadaten werden auf der Matic Blockchain gespeichert, da es sonst mit den Gas-Fees noch absurder wäre.
Auch der Twitter-CEO Jack Dorsey versteigert gerade seinen aller ersten Tweet auf Valuables. Das höchste Gebot beläuft sich derzeit auf unglaubliche 2,5 Millionen Dollar. Da fallen die Gas-Fees dann nicht mehr ins Gewicht.
Ist das jetzt total verrückt oder nützlich?
Total verrückt, weil Ethereum nicht für Microtransaktionen gemacht ist und man mit den gekauften Tweets eigentlich nicht viel anfangen kann, da an die NFTs keine (!) Nutzungslizenz gekoppelt ist. Dazu kommt das Risiko, dass der Autor oder Twitter selbst jeden Tweet ohne Vorwarnung jeder Zeit löschen kann.
Nützlich wäre es, wenn man die Bezahlmöglichkeit mit Kryptos als Spende sehen würde, wenn einem ein Tweet besonders gut gefällt und man den Autor damit unterstützen möchte. Aber dafür ist Ethereum in der derzeitigen Form völlig ungeeignet. Auch Brave und Hive arbeiten übrigens an Möglichkeiten, Twitter-Nutzern direkt BAT oder HIVE zu spenden.
Was haltet ihr von dem Verkauf von Tweets als NFT? Nützlich oder total absurd?

@hatoto inspired me with a recent post, reporting that he just sold his first tweet for $1 (ETH 0.0006). The buyer paid $10 in gas fees, more than for the tweet itself.
The whole thing runs on the Valuables DApp by Cent, and uses Ethereum as the payment method, the NFT metadata is stored on the Matic Blockchain, because otherwise gas fees would be even more ridiculous.
Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey is also currently auctioning his very first tweet on Valuables. The highest bid at the moment is a whopping 2.5 million dollars. So at least the gas fees are neglectable then.
Is this totally crazy or useful?
Totally crazy, because Ethereum does not handle microtransactions at the moment and you can't actually do much with the purchased tweets, since there is no (!) usage license attached to the NFTs whatsoever. In addition, there is the risk that Twitter or the author itself could delete the tweet at any time without notice.
It would be useful to see the crypto payment method on Twitter as a tipping service if you particularly like a tweet and want to support the author. But Ethereum in its current form is completely unsuitable for that. By the way, Brave and Hive are also working on ways to tip BAT or HIVE directly to Twitter users.

Selling Tweets is ridiculous, but buying them is a whole other level (even more ridiculous, especially the case above).
But this is just/only my opinion.
Useful for anyone able to actually see their tweets but seems crazy to me to buy one. Nowadays though, value is perceived differently than it was in the past and there might be a historic cultural value to it so who knows where this will go.
I would see more value in NFTs if they had a commercial usage license attached to it. Otherwise I see it as a tipping service for tweets.

habe Twitter lange Zeit nicht verstanden, aber finde es mittlerweile ganz witzig, da es mehr Content bezogen ist, aber es ist letztendlich auch eine zentralisierte Plattform mit einer intrasparenten Filterung / Zensurpolitik.
Trotz Zensur,... finde ich auf Twitter oft zuerst Dinge, die in keiner gängigen Zeitung stehen. Daher ist Twitter insg. doch eher nützlich.
Aber Tweets zu verkaufen ist absolut lächerlich.
Als Kunstform von mir aus, wenn es Leute gibt, die dafür zahlen, sollen sie doch. Manche zahlen ja auch für eine fotografierte Banane. Die moderne Kunst ist ja sowieso ins Extreme inflationiert und damit entwertet.
Aber in der breiten Masse - "not sustainable".
