Investors bet on Revolving Games to Develop ‘AAA Quality’ Web3 Games!

If you have been following this blog, you know that GameFi and Web3 are 2 sectors where I see amazing opportunities for users and companies!

Revolving Games is a mobile free-to-play publisher. They announced on Friday that they raised $13.2mn from investors (including Panter Capital, Animoca Brands, Dapper...)

Their vision?

“Our vision is clear: to build AAA quality games that turn heads amongst the best launches at the top gaming forums like Gamescom and E3!”

Quite simple and straight to the point! Let's see if they can deliver

What games are they working on?

Their first game should be “Battlestar Galactica” 4X strategy MMO blockchain game. This onw is produced in partnership with Gala Games and NBC Universal.

Their second potential hit is "Skyborne Legacy", a cooperative RPG on Polygon.

Interesting that they decided to clearly state that this game is going to be on Polygon. If fees gets very low on ETH and Layer 2 get the most adoption, I wonder if they would change their minds.

I also like their CEO's statement that:

“Not every game will or should implement NFTs,”

“Moreover, if you build NFTs into your game, it needs to do so in a way that compliments the user experience rather than simply serving the benefit of monetization.”

I am excited to see what is happening and which chains will benefit the most. Some other players have bigger funding and many live titles as well as their own "gaming" blockchain. Yes, I am referring to ImmutableX!

We can also see an oligopoly in the Web3/Blockchain gaming space (Animoca Brands, Dappers, Panter Capital...). Interesting to see if these will become behemots in a few years.
