I enjoy nothing better than getting dressed up for Mrs W...... ok, thats a completely different story!! Today im going to talk about Halloween and the SPOOK- tacular coins available to buy and collect here in the UK
Starting off with one the most collected coin available to buy from the Royal Mint: the FRANKENSTEIN coin
Mary Shelley anonymously published her novel entitled Frankenstein, or The Modern Prometheus on 1 January 1818. Declared as the beginning of the science fiction genre by many, the story has sparked countless adaptations. For over 200 years, the story of Frankenstein's monster has captured the imaginations of millions. Frankenstein is more than just a story about the creation of a ‘monster’, it is a story that can be interpreted in many ways.
Im going to use a bit of artistic licence for this one! 🕷 to 🕸 = spooky??? Whilst this coin was not designed as a spooky coin, the spiders web does tie in nicely with the theme. Its actually a representation of the "world wide web"

The World Wide Web now connects the entire world with just the click of a button. Its the reason you lucky few get to read this absolute drivel!! From the first web browser page in 1990, to steemit and now #hive, it’s impossible to imagine life without it.
From modern computing, to literary works of art.... One of the most famous authors and writers is William Shakespeare, and thats where we head to now.
The Skull (or tragedies), £2 coin, was part of a three coin series, commemorating 400yrs since the death of WS.
Everyone love a skull at Halloween, so i feel this coin rounds off the few spook-tacular coins avaliable here in the UK.
The FRANKENSTEIN coin is the only one of the three coins not to have entered circulation. It was only available for a short time direct from the RM website. The other 2 were eventually released in to general circulation, but are incredibly hard to come by.
