Calling all code breakers: an impossible coin code?? PART 1

in LeoFinancelast year

Can you crack this unique puzzle?? This Australian coin was released back in September, and its now got my stumped!! I love keeping the grey matter active, and i love puzzles, ciphers and all this logical.... Ive managed to work my way through some of it, but ive hit a brick wall now, and its got me beat.

This limited-edition commemorative coin was released to mark the 75th anniversary of Australias foreign intelligence cybersecurity agency, the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD). The coin was not intended for circulation, and only a very limited number of 50,000 specialty coins will be available to purchase from the Royal Australian Mint. These have now since SOLD OUT.

Each coin features four levels of coded messages to crack, and its killing me!! Ive managed to decipher what i believe to be 3 of the 4 hidden messages, but the 4th still illudes me....

Let me take you through my thouggt process and limited codebreaking skills to see if the power of the blockchain can solve the fourth puzzle on this ingenious coin design.

START AT THE BEGINNING

At first looking at the pictures of this coin had me feeling quite intimidated. Whilst I dont physically own this coin, i did my best to download any high quality images i could find, in an effort to give me the best chance on jow to crack the codes.

Rule number 1 for code breaking - start with the obvious!! So thats exactly what i did. I can hear you all say "the obvious??".... but yes, the obvious and probably the easiest to work out wwre the arrangement of "dots" on the heads-side of the coin..

It didnt take me too long to work out that the dots represented braille digits. Using the numbers 1 through 6, you asign the corresponding letters with those numbers and you get the word ATBASH.

A simple google search shows:

A = Z, B = Y, C = X..... etc - a simple reverse alphabet cipher.

Flip back to the tail side and applying this to the letters on the outer rim. Using the little spot mark as a starting point you go :

DV ZIV ZIV
WE ARE AUD

Ill save you the trouble. It says

SPOT We are audacious in concept and meticulous in execution SPOT Find clarity in 7 width x 5 depth

The first part is clearly the first code broken. You then use the "find clarity in 7 width X 5 depth" to help crack the second part of the code. But ill save that for another post(i promise)

If you can work out the next part then please feel free to leave a hint below, but do NOT spoil it for aeveryone else!!

If theres an interest in this little series of blogs, then ill post the following broken code in part 2 later on this week. Who wouod have thought so much detail could be put on such a small coin.

It’s only impossible because you are Welsh….🖕🏻

It looks very hard to break

The silver coin looks really nice and shinning.

This is really looking stunning and amazing

A brilliant coin. It's so unique, with codes like some zodiac !

woah that is amazeballs, you go Sherlock homeboy !PIZZA

For some, the code may be simple. But I'm a humanities person... However, I appreciate that it's a great idea to create a "coin-IQ test"...

the puzzle is really unique in coins. Nice to see Queen Elizabeth on Australian coins

That's a pretty interesting concept,I don't care to sole the puzzle but I would non the less would not mind owning something unique like this in my collection
