The news that Elon Musk has made an official offer to buy out Twitter has everyone buzzing and it certainly is entertaining. If you haven't been following along, last week Elon bought roughly 9 percent of Twitter's shares and made a lot of "Free Speech" tweets and other criticisms on the platform.

After buying the largest private stake in the company, Elon was offered a board seat and seemed to accept it. Twitter employees and the Extreme Progressives were freaking out and by their own reporting were so stressed they needed mental health breaks. (lol) After a couple of days, Elon and Twitter's CEO, Parag Agrawal announced that Elon would not be joining the board after all. Many correctly speculated Elon wouldn't have enough power to change Twitter if he were bound by the stake limitations of being on the board.
In today's episode of Social Media Wars, Elon has made a $43 Billion offer to buy out Twitter entirely and take it private. He’s offering $54.20 per share in cash. The proposal was delivered in a letter to Twitter on April 13th, Musk stated that the company must go private to make necessary changes.
His letter also included a bit of a threat or what I would call a carrot and a stick..
He suggests he would sell his current holding if the offer is not accepted.
Who knows if this is all a PR Stunt or if the offer will be accepted, but if it is I can only imagine Elon will have a plan to incorporate DOGE into Twitter somehow, while trying to restore Free Speech.

Whether or not the deal happens, the speculation process will send money flying around and to attempt to take advantage of the attention this is getting I bought some DOGE this morning and have my popcorn ready to watch this play out.
On a personal note, I think rational debate of any topic is a better and more intelligent path than trying to suppress opinions and unpopular views, so I am hoping to see that conversation take a front seat on Twitter and also on Hive. Please don't give me any bs about unpopular posts being in the blockchain, that is the most obtuse line I've ever heard. The point of communication is to debate and both sides come to a better understanding and you don't get there from "hiding" information in a blockchain.

I understand the idea that if you combine a popular app like Twitter and a popular cryptocurrency like Doge the end result should be something that benefits both but how do you bring a dog to a birdhouse and make the new brand work in practice. All the Twitter design and language is around that bird theme. What is that new dog thing doing in there in the birdhouse?

Maybe someone could convince him to dump his doggies into the bee (HIVE) and the cat (LEO) and fund Project Blank getting off the ground. We would not treat him like twitter did and the end product would actually be decentralize and uncensored! What say you @khaleelkazi ?
Ha! Normally I would never tag Khal, but I am sure he needs some more engagement points to meet his engagement goals. It is a very long shot, but you never know :-)

Yeah. That guy is kind of like a cannon rolling around loose on a ship deck in rough seas. The last whale that came in here was sent packing :-) Never know though :-)
Ha! If I were Khal, I would always be annoyed, but he did publicize his engagement plans -- heck even bragged about how great he was gonna do ;-). So I only feel a little bad. Plus, if something did come from an attempt to woo Elon, I would accept a small LEO compensation. HAHA!!!

Ever the instigator, Elon never disappoints. For that alone, I adore him lol. The carrot and stick was a great tactic. Can't wait to see how it ends. Publicity stunt or not, it brings to the forefront the free speech aspect of social media. The scramble to jump on the coat tails is well underway lol

Absolutely much more than a profitable business at stake and blackrock will not let go of control easily. I expect to see a lot of smearing of Elon.. Time will tell.

I think, either way, it will be a fun show and all the shareholders will probably benefit from this. Anything can happen but Twitter now has to prove its valuation and it makes people have to back up why they think so. They are underperforming the numbers and Goldman says it's worth more but zerohedge showed the fact that Twitter is on a sell rating and they valued it at $30.

If anone want free speech (or an alternative to Twitter), then feel free to use the Hive blockchain. There is no censorship at all. It is not even possible on the technical level. Everything we post will remain on the blockchain as long as the blockchain exist.
The free speech is an already possible option, even if it is not on Twitter.
One thing is sure if Elon is buying up Twitter and incorporating Doge, then it would moon.
No one can say for now, what's gonna be the outcome.
