Polygon Offering To Provide Financial Support To Onboard Luna Projects

in LeoFinance2 years ago

Hello Everyone,

Imagine for a minute being an App Developer that has been building or running a project on Luna for the past few years. Just 2 weeks ago, you are building on a top 10 Blockchain and the future is bright, when suddenly everything falls apart.

As the Luna Team pumps out proposals and idea on how to restore Luna other blockchain are wisely stepping up to offer financial support, development support and even Marketing to these now nearly homeless apps. I think it is a highly intelligent move as Devs are scarce and all of the Blockchain need and want quality apps and users.

Sandeep Nailwal the Polygon founder has invited any Application Devs to contact him about making a migration with support basically across all areas of operation, and if there were ever a time to want to pick up some developers with financial incentives this is it. I really can't wait to hear if some App Owners go for it.

I know there is a still a lot of speculation on whether or not there will be any way to get Luna up and running again, but I think people forget to look at the heart of a community. I can only guess, but it's my opinion that if something catastrophic happened on Hive that this community would also support the blockchain and the community and want to rebuild vs. moving. I imagine Luna will live on in some form even if it is never completely restored. 2 proposals I've seen one to hard fork and another to burn a lot of surplus Luna, will be interesting to see.

After the first offers for other chains to adopt some projects, other blockchains are also offering support and to r-home app developers.

The Fantom Foundation also, tweeted an invite and support.

While crypto users can be flippant and rude at times, I think we also have a general respect for other projects and want to see successful projects and I certainly know every chain would like to find some talented developers with projects migrate. It's really turning a loss into a win!

What do you think? Will other blockchains gain some Applications and Devs in the rebuilding process?

Sort:

What kind of stuff were they building on that chain? Any displaced reputable business in this industry stands to have a good shot at that DHF thingmajig we got there, plus inject their product directly into a community/social setting.

We don't seem to have as much reach as other chains though. Most folks don't know about this hidden gold mine. Sitting here talking to ourselves all the time. Someone should do something about that.

Agreed, not sure whether we would need to be able to offer smart contracts, I know they had a lot of defi and nft projects, not exactly sure what else.

I think for some reason our top whales, like to lay a little low, I've never been sure why.

Not sure if a whale is what's needed for that. Those are just humans with various skillsets, interests. Need someone on payroll or small team pounding pavement, lining up opportunities. I know some folks get involved, but I think something a little more structured, open, and official, would help. But I won't even attempt to suggest getting that off the ground. Can't even convince folks consumers buying millions of tokens on a regular basis is a good idea.

And we don't really need more of the same here. It's like everyone and their dog runs some sort of NFT platform for instance, which was something I predicted would happen, before it happened. I think the line was something like, "what the hell do you need consumers for? Simply set up the platfrom and these artists thinking they'll get rich will flock to it and pay you." That happened. More art stores than there are art buyers it seems.

I'm just rambling.

I hear you about the over supply of NFTs at this point, typical top of the bullrun behavior, but I guess if we truly are in bear season, things get back to more realistic for a while, good projects start to pull ahead I think.

Who knows, I just know Hive seems to be pretty comfortable, quietly chugging along.

Yeah. Shops will close. Be left with one or two. Walmart and Target...

I stayed away! Can't stand the business models. Might have to make my own platform...

And yeah us crypto dinosaurs can see the slow but steady pace through the red. The world's ending for the noobs and naïve though. Oh cool. That 'i' has two dots!

Certainly can't complain about the progress. At least it's there. That's our new motto.

I like the new motto!

I agree that the space is going to shrink down to a few winners in each category over time. Fortunately Hive does have unique strengths.

Maybe the seclusion stems from being too good, and the outsiders are too proud to admit it, so they just do the thing where you say it's shit, but deep down they're just mad they didn't think of it.

Hive: At least it's there.

I have a feeling they will move to one of the other top 10 chains because there is already a large userbase there but I hope some of them will move over to Hive. We all know that they want to make the most of their money and Hive might be a bit too small for them.

We have the HDF which could also provide incentives, but I'm not sure how well the technology matches up, without smart contracts.

Hmm giving support is cool but I'm not sure why I think the different app devs trying to give support are in it for their own gain but somehow helping Luna back up even if it may fail.

Hive would always be different if such should happen, I only hope it doesn't happen 😊

Sure they want to attract devs and apps to their chain. right now the number of chains out numbers the number of apps and devs and hence users.

Oh that makes sense now
All the best to them 😅

Congratulations @whatsup! You have completed the following achievement on the Hive blockchain and have been rewarded with new badge(s):

You received more than 36000 HP as payout for your posts, comments and curation.
Your next payout target is 37000 HP.
The unit is Hive Power equivalent because post and comment rewards can be split into HP and HBD

You can view your badges on your board and compare yourself to others in the Ranking

Business is ruthless and other blockchains are pouncing on the opportunity to gobble up the spoils from the Luna fiasco. On the positive side they’re helping devs and projects get back on their feet but at the end of the day what matters is to be better than your competition.
That’s the nature of the beast… weak businesses / projects / blockchains fade away to make room for better ones. Evolution

Very well said, and I totally agree.

But it's also very smart.

I think it is a highly intelligent move as Devs are scarce and all of the Blockchain need and want quality apps and users.

Seeing this really means they really want to maintain that stay in the crypto world and if looking for quality apps and users is the solution then they should give it a trial.

Yeah, they should

Sneaky blockchains! It will interesting to see how many projects will transition to new chains.

It's hard to picture, but I don't know their culture so maybe many of them.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

We have already HAF built their projects and they don’t even know it.

Shhh, Hive is a secret! lol :)

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

This is an intelligent move from those projects, it a win-win for both parties For rending support and if the project becomes successful it will be massive add

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

Agreed, it's potential win/win. Will be interesting to watch.

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

if something catastrophic happened on Hive that this community would also support the blockchain and the community and want to rebuild vs. moving.

Interesting - of course depending on the circumstance, you'd get a bit of both, as per what happened last time?

yeah, I think you would.

Luna projects should look at HIVE instead of all other sh!ts ;)

Cheers~

Yeah, I don't know enough to know if they are "compatible".
