Yeah... 'MORE' Cat and Kitten Tales... SO WHAT...?!?!?!?!?!?

in FreeSpeech3 years ago

So... Yeah...!!! Another cat/kitten post... Wha'cha gonna do about it...?!?!?!?

Most of my old, regular followers know I have his soft spot in my heart for stray, lost or abandoned animals that appear along my path. In recent years, they have been mostly of the feline variety that (for whatever reason) keep showing up in my backyard or back porch.

Here's a shot of that little grey girl who still hangs out with her adopted daddy Speedy. She's like his shadow.. He doesn't seem to mind her constant presence though; as a matter of fact, he seems to enjoy her attention.

As you can see from the blurry photo, the little girl has grown quite a bit since she appeared, sleeping on top of Speedy a couple of months ago.

The pictures are blurry mostly because I had to shoot them through the dirty glass on my back door, so don't curse me out for posting them. If I opened the door, she would have darted off in fear.

I've not named her yet, but maybe something like Shy-Girl would do, because even after all these months of feeding her and giving her a place of safety, she's still very timid of me. She'll poke her little head through the pet door even when I'm in the back room though and come in to eat from her bowl, but if I make to quick of a move, she runs back out through the door.

I'm making some progress with her... especially when she sees Speedy close to me and un-afraid. It really seems to baffle her when she sees Speedy rubbing against my legs as I'm getting their food ready.

By now, I thought I would have been able to get her trusting enough to hold and pet her, like past new kittens. How I'm going to get her in a pet carrier and to the Vet and Shelter, remains a mystery.

ANYWAYzzzzzzzzzzzz.......

Besides my cat-tales, there isn't much more for me to report on, except, maybe, that I'm still working out on a regular basis and keeping fit... Maybe you don't care about that either??? But, for those that do... here's a recent picture of me all pumped up at the gym.

Till next time... stay well my friends, or get that way. Be happy too; life's too short for worrying about all that small stuff, like dying from a nuclear attack...!!!

Ciao

Damn man looking ripped, but a bit green around the edges. Color must be wrong on my phone.

Shy Girl seems like a good name for the little one.

No... your phone is probably fine. The reason I'm green is probably from consuming too many leafy vegetables...?!?!?!?

😏

Pumped up with roids? by the looks of that pic mate🤣 glad you are making progress with the cat.

Yeah... those roids are great, but I wish they would turn my skin purple instead of green, so I'm not always mistaken for 'The Hulk'...!!!

Now why did Hive take you off my following list?
I would make a plan to trap her so that she can be spayed before she brings home a litter. You could use a drop-trap on her, which is easy and cheap to make, you can use plumber's pvc piping to construct a box and cover it with nylon netting which will be able to contain her without causing injury and can be operated from a distance with a string. Once that's done, you could either work on getting her tamer by keeping her in a room for a couple of weeks or leave her to do her thing and Speedy show the way. I have a feral cat that I tamed enough to be handled after she lived in my mother's house for 5 years but remained untouchable. It is always possible.
Keep eating those greens :)

Hi @nikv... Maybe your follow list was hacked by one of the many enemies I've managed to accumulate here on the chain...?!?!?!? 😎 They can be sneaky little devils at times.

Thank you for the advice regarding my new visiting, feral kitten. The drop-trap is a good idea, but due to adverse transportation issues presently, I might enlist the aid of a volunteer trapper.

We have a 'Trap, Neuter & Release' program locally with active members who offer help. They trap, then return the cat to same area after treatment and clipping the tip of an ear as a marking.

Yes, those greens are such a healthy dietary choice, but I think I need to add some reds to look tanned...??? In that way, I might get fewer long, hard and fearful stares from the mortals while out and about😏

I don't think I've been hacked yet...

Yes, get a TNR person involved as soon as you can. If she becomes pregnant now, the kittens and mom will struggle tremendously through winter.

Reds are good too 😎

Looking all pumped and shit! Good to see ya ol'timer, keep on saving the world one kitty at a time! Whatever pussy action you can get 😄

Thanks for stopping by and commenting Ed... You're unique philosophical views are often of great value, in some way, shape or form...😎

I am happy someone can recognize the value I bring, by cursing a lot and making disrespectful jokes. 🤣

Nice to see some photos of the cats you are helping.

In the past year or so lizards have multiplied like crazy in my yard. I even found a baby lizard in my bedroom. I had to get it into a cup so I could take it outside. It ended up being harder than I thought to get the little guy into the cup as he was super quick.

Perhaps the lizards have had a reduction of natural predators in your area or yard alone, or their favored food source is in abundance?

Thanks for stopping by @ninjamike. Always nice to hear from you.

I've seen lizards in my neighbors yard as well. I think the abundance of lizards is due to the reduction of predators as a result of the drought.

Even though I have eleven cats and had more, I am an amateur when it come to taming cats. Catlady @nikv should be able to help you. Thanks 4 the follow @angryman 😉

Thanks for the input @manorvillemike. Yes, I've interacted with @nikv quite a few times in the past knowing of her feline love and expertise. Your pinging her brought a helpful response below...😎

This kitten is the first having showed up here, that was so slow to trust in me. I suspect she has had some bad experiences with other humans, leading her to be rightfully fearful of our breed. If she remains feral, this caution will serve her well though in future times.

Good and good luck with your new feline friend. 😺
