Have a Dream, Make a Wish part III - Weekend Engagement 105

Guilty Pleasure.jpg

"It's easy to be a naive idealist. It's easy to be a cynical realist. It's quite another thing to have no illusions and still hold the inner flame.“

— Marie-Louise von Franz Swiss psychologist and scholar 1915 - 1998

Guilty pleasures? What an oxymoron that is when you think about it.

Well what would a gal like me consider a guilty pleasure? I'm not the type of person to let people into my world very easily, but if there is one thing that I would count as a guilty pleasure, it would be "idealistic daydreaming".

The pleasure of simply switching off of what is current reality and delving into a completely different world, envision what it would consist of, how an average day could feel sublime. How having hair brushed from your eyes is comforting. Where linking arms is fun and embraces feel warm and welcoming. Normal activities would be vibrant and exciting adventures. Life would feel a little less dull and mundane. Where laughter would erupt at my silliness and late night snacks with hot chocolate in pyjamas on cold winter nights would be shared infront of the fireplace.

Some days I don't allow myself the scope to get caught up in it, but on occassion I lie in bed with my fingertips running over my soft, fluffy blanket and I close my eyes.

I'm instantly in a different place. The air feels different on my skin and the midday light is fading. There is soft music playing. An average day to most, but my heart is full and my skin tingles as the breeze wafts past and swirls back round me.

"Come on, we're going for a drive"
"Where to?"
"Let's go get a coffee and see where we end up"
"As if I'd ever say no" Smiling eyes.

Bookshops and coffee shops and a walk down the city avenue. Watching the sun go down and repainting the blue sky with tones of gold, orange, vermillion bursting to pink. The same skies I have watched a million times but they've never seemed quite so bright before.

I fade off to sleep. Warm, comfortable, feeling lighter and content.

I daydream of normal, every day kind of days because I've lived through some of the hardest ones already. I find beauty in my day now and will find magic in the days still to come. My guilty pleasure - I allow myself to daydream of the future.

This is so me @andrastia! Daydreaming helps me escape from daily stress and anxiety. Sometimes I find myself there for so long that I get interrupted by anxious kids wondering where their mother has left to. 😂

Your daydream put me at ease, especially the coffee shop and sunset part. ☺️

Thanks for sharing your daydreaming getaway with us ~

Hi Crosheille

Thanks for stopping by. I'm glad it's not just me. Your kids also have to break you out of your reverie sometimes? Lol it happens to the best of us.

I'm not a complicated person and I appreciate simple pleasures more than grand gestures. It's the collecting of every day moments that I love.

Have a super weekend 🌼

For sure ;)

Lol yes, it's not just you. It's easy to stay long in that dreamy place.

I hear ya on the simple pleasures, those can be the best.

Thanks so much, I hope your weekend is going superb ~ 🌸

When ever I buy a lottery ticket I don't check the results because i daydream that I won it. It's worth the price of the ticket.

That's rad, although knowing how lucky you've been in the past, you should probably check, who knows right?

This is somehow comforting knowing that I'm not alone in the dreamland, a lot of times I found myself daydreaming about the future.

Daydreaming has helped me through some really tough times. I'm glad that it resonated with you. Us dreamers are rare these days.

I daydream too much everyday too and imagined having the best future ever especially staying and living in one of my dream house in another country especially having to get a home around nature and viewing the lovely sea mere opening the window, being welcomed by the soft breeze etc
I love to daydream into the future.

We build our lives on our dreams and often they can give us that little push that we need to move towards our goals. I'm glad that people still envision better things ahead especially when reality can be the opposite.

Yes, it feels good when we do that and with a little hope that things would be great if only we keep working hard to make it a reality, but sometimes, life doesn´t go well with our expectations.

hi Andrastia, I really like this , this feels so comforting. hey andrastia I want to ask you something outside of this topic (its about payout) , u mind ?

Hi @marioikada

You're welcome to ask. If I don't know the answer I'll try find out for you.

You mind If I use chat on you ?

I don't use chat on Hive, you can ask me here. If it's about payout I doubt it will be anything that I can't answer openly.

i just got little bit confused here. it is written 50/50% for the payout hbd and hivepower. From the post I made name The story of finding a name(32.66) I only receive (8.269hbd ) and (14.69 hp) , I dont understand why its not 16 hp and 16 hbd.. please I dont know who to ask , nobody replies my messages.. could u lend a hand ?

I don't mind your question, it's something that often confuses people new to joining Hive. The way that Hive works is that the rewards that you get on your post come from what is known as the reward pool, a vote is not out of your personal Hive wallet. Payouts are divided into two. 50% of your payout is yours and 50% goes to curation (the people that upvoted your post). In that particular post, the main curator was OCD. You can check this by clicking on your vote number below your post which will bring up the list of votes and their values.

In the 7 day payout period, the rewards on your post are technically not yours as they are not in your wallet yet and only become yours when payout occurs after the 7 day period. If you want to check what your rewards will be, you can generally halve what the Hive amount is at the bottom of your post and that amount will be split between HBD and HP.

Self voting is heavily frowned apon so my advice is to not do it, it will only be detrimental to your account and your reputation.

I hope this helps to outline it a little bit.

If you want a full breakdown of how Hive works, here's a FAQ post which will help you understand the platform better

https://hive.blog/faq.html

If you have other questions, please feel free to ask, I'm always happy to help where I can.

I think there's a misscommunication here. I understand 50 to hive and 50 to me, It worked exactly like that at the first and second on my post, but right now it seems little bit diffrent I guess

I just lost with this math..

"idealistic daydreaming"

It is a new concept for me, and by the way you put it, it sounds like a very interesting concept. I might try it one of these days. Thank you for sharing such an interesting concept miss @andrastia 😁

Hi Pinkhub

Sorry for the late reply, only saw your comment now. It's actually quite therapeutic to just let your mind wonder off and go where it wants to take you. It's like lying down and watching the clouds make formations and seeing what shapes you can find. I enjoy it and it brings me hope and a feeling of comfort.

Hope your weekend was awesome. Have a good week ahead :)
