Strolling Saturday - Mountain Spring Walk

We took a nice stroll today with our new neighbors in our mountain town here in Panama. We loaded up the cars with our 12 kids and four adults and headed out for an adventure.

We had found this natural spring swimming hole a few years ago, but we've only been there twice. Today we decided to show it to our friends who just moved here.

When we got there, some local kids were wrestling in the mud and then jumping in the swimming hole. It was funny to watch them for a few minutes.

We walked over to where the spring is and the water was crystal clear. It was pretty cold feeling, but our friends are from Canada, so they said it was warmer than where they used to swim in the ocean. Ha!

We headed up the path that leads to a look out over the town. It was a slippery, muddy mess, but we all made it up ok! I had told the kids it might rain (it didn't), so everyone had a rain jacket. Guess who ended up getting to carry all of the jackets?? 🙋‍♀️

At the top, we had a little snack and enjoyed the views of the town. Some of the older kids enjoyed rolling some rocks down the hill (we made sure no one was below). It was great that it wasn't raining! The kids, of course, beat all the adults to the top!

When we made our way back to the bottom of the hill, the kids all really wanted to swim. Most of them jumped in with their clothes on! They said it felt good, but you could tell it was chilly when they first got in!

You can see the bridge that is now under water that used to be the only way to get across. So glad they built another, better bridge. Looks like we'll be visiting this spot more often with our new friends!

That looks like a lot of fun! So nice to see kids playing like that.

This day was phenomenal, you can see how much they enjoyed it
