Books, the enjoyment of reading what interests me most, even if it is unusual. (Week 295)

A book contains a world to discover, whatever genre we like, whether novels, stories, technical books, or self-help books. Whatever the subject, opening and starting to read a book we like will always be a path to follow and enjoy.

I don't think I've read as many books in my life as other people, but I've read quite a few. When I was young and in school, and later on, I couldn't afford to buy books, but I would go to the library and request whatever book I wanted. In fact, I got all the books I used when I was studying there.

When I started to be able to buy books, I did so at a place that sold used books. There was no excuse; if someone liked to read, there was a place to get books, even if they didn't have the resources.

I remember years ago I wanted a book, and in Argentina, imports were closed, so it was impossible to get it. No matter how hard I looked, there was no way. So, I read it online. I found a way to read it because I was very interested in it.

I have read all kinds of books, many of them historical, legal, technical, and much more when I was studying law and then computer science, books on programs. At that time, there was no AI, thank goodness.

But when audiobooks came out, I tried to use that system and couldn't. For some reason, I have to read. I have a very visual memory; it's always been that way, even when I was studying. I learned and memorized what I read, but not so much what I heard. I had to read it. So, if I had to choose, I prefer books, even if I have to read them on the computer because there is no other alternative.

I must also confess that when I try to listen to an audiobook, I fall asleep. I can't handle it.

If I think about what I like to read, I have to say that my tastes have changed over time. I've always liked suspense, intrigue, action, crime, mysteries to be solved, stories with unexpected twists, books with details that make you imagine the circumstances in great detail. I also like science fiction books, but with hidden messages. I have varied tastes.

I like poetry books and those with deep content, the ones that make you think, question things, and for some years now, in my quest to improve and discover things about myself, I love to read books that tend to do that. They are not self-help books, but rather books about self-exploration, emotions, managing them, and even books... we could call them ethereal, that deal with unusual topics. I think they are books as rare as I am.

For example, there is a book that I loved reading called The Divine Matrix, written by Gregg Braden. One of my favorite books is called The Double and How It Works by quantum scientist Jean Pierre Garnier Malet. That book changed my life, I always say that, and that author has more books, many of which are interesting and difficult to understand, talking about quantum physics and Greek terminology.

I don't read what most people read, I know that, I'm aware of it, but what I read fascinates me, I learn and improve inside, and that manifests itself on the outside. I apply it to my life and the results are spectacular.

Books contain a universe within them, and opening them up leads to wonderful things, at least that's how it is for me. This is the topic I chose from among the weekend topics proposed by @galenkp. Thank you for that.

Thank you all very much for joining me today. Have a great weekend. See you soon.

Thank you so much!!!🤗

Good morning @avdesing, there are good books, very good books, and also terrible ones. Then there are those personal books that can change our lives. They're like those good friends who never disappoint by sharing wisdom or experiences that open doors to new possibilities.

I'll tell you that I don't use audiobooks either; I've never had much respect for the paper format... I underline, annotate, and mark the pages that interest me, I do that with literature books too. I can't do that with audiobooks.

The titles you mentioned are interesting; they're not exactly mainstream literature. Thanks for sharing them.

Happy Saturday. 🤗

In my life, I have only underlined the books I used at university because we used a lot of photocopies, most of us couldn't afford to buy them, but I usually have a notebook or notepad and write down the important points from a book if necessary. I can't listen to audiobooks; I fall asleep, ha ha ha, I can't concentrate properly on what I'm listening to. Also, when I read, there has to be absolute silence or I have to be in the middle of a forest... how wonderful! Thank you very much!🤗

You have many forests around you, 😃 Thank you so much, it's a pleasure to read you. 🤗

I read a lot, but a lot every day, and not exactly books, ha ha ha, thank you! Have a great Saturday!🤗👋

not exactly books 😯

Feliz sábado!! 🤗👋

They're not, although they are stories, ha ha ha.

Thanks again!👋

Thank you!!!💞

Good morning, dear friend @avdesing

What I love about this weekend initiative is its variety.

It's as you say: when you love reading, it doesn't matter if you can't buy a book; those who want to always find a way.

It's very interesting what you like to read.

Thank you so much for sharing this experience.

Have a wonderful weekend!

I don't read ordinary things, but rather those from which I learn about myself, human beings, and more. Thank you very much!

Hello, Amonet

It's wonderful that you enjoy reading so much; it's admirable what you did to be able to read the book you liked.

You have excellent taste in what you read.

Have a lovely afternoon.

Thank you so so much @miprimerconcurso 🤗

Yep, I am all about physical books too. You have a very interesting reading taste. Nothing wrong wth it at all. I sometimes wish my brain could stay focused enough to read subjects like physics.

It's a topic that I started to like a few years ago when I was searching for self-knowledge, and I love it! Thank you!

Those are interesting reading topics you like, very varied. I'm not a voracious reader either, more due to a lack of time management than not liking it. As for audiobooks, the same thing happens to me. I've tried listening to some while working in the studio to make better use of my time, but I feel no pleasure; I don't connect with that impersonal voice, devoid of emotion, that babbles without intonation or punctuation... in the end, I wind up thinking about anything except what I'm listening to 🤭. Thanks for sharing your literary tastes with us. A hug 🤗.

I feel exactly the same way!!! Exactly the same!!! Thank you so much for stopping by, thank you!!! Have a wonderful Sunday!💗

Lindo domingo para ti también 🤗.

When I was a child, I also went to the library and, later on, when I had the opportunity, I also bought many used books.

And of course, I also prefer reading a book to listening to an audiobook; they are completely different experiences. Reading allows me to concentrate more on the subject matter.

Exactly, the concentration isn't the same. With an audiobook, I fall asleep! Thank you!

I fall asleep too, but after a while, that same monotonous voice wakes me up, frightened 😄😄

Coincidentally, we agree on this one. Audiobooks are not my thing either. I have a very good visual memory, or photographic memory, whatever you want to call it and I'm also sticking to reading.

When I read, my imagination is much better than when I listen, in the case of books. Besides, I don't know why audiobooks make me sleepy. The art of reading a book, the smell of its pages... how beautiful! Thank you!
