Weekend-engagement topic week 54: Think your drink

in Weekend Experiences3 years ago

I always say great company makes average food better and I think the same goes with drinks; There's people I could name who I'd be happy to drink dishwater with, just to be with them. This week I caught up with a friend of mine and met her new baby over a terrible cup of coffee, but I didn't care. It was the company that provided the value.

Bad coffee is not something I'm usually happy to accept but, for a man who chooses his company carefully, bad company is not something I'm willing to tolerate. Fortunately the good company of my friend made the bad coffee tolerable and her daughter is cute too!

Welcome to the #weekend-engagement topic for week 54, all based on drinks after my bad coffee experience earlier in the week - I'm still getting over it.

Here at the #weekend-engagement topic you respond to the question below in the comments and stay around to engage with others - It's about engagement and building relationships so get involved, engaged and have some fun - But only if you want to.

On Monday 21st June I'll transfer hive to some who engage below, just for your commenting. It's not a competition, just a chance to interact with a few other hivers, get yourself onto their radar, build better relationships and your account along the way.

Weekend-engagement topic week 54

What drink do you love and why

In the comments below tell us about a drink you enjoy and why. It's not necessarily about your favourite drink as that will change with time of day, season, situation or location - Just share a drink you enjoy, any drink, and tell us why you like it so much.

Feel free to drop a photo of your drink and if it's one you prepare yourself then let us know how to make it. Bonus points will be awarded to those who drop a name or two of someone from the hive community you'd like to share that drink with.

Answer below in the comments and make sure you explain your answer.

Read this bit so you know what to do. ⬆️

That's the topic y'all and you have until Sunday night your time to get your response into the comments below. I hope you'll engage and stay around to get friendly with some of the others who participate as it'll be good to see you around over the weekend.

Have a great weekend.

I don't know if you remember that a few rounds ago I showed you the passion fruit flower that is at the beginning of the comment. Well, my uncle has a passion fruit plant at my grandmother's house, so I use to make juice from that fruit.

The preparation is easy, simply cut the fruit and empty the inside in a blender. Add water, sugar and blend it all. Then you must strain it to eliminate all the black seeds and that's it.

It's a refreshing drink and very tasty. I personally love it because it is available almost all year round, and with this passion fruit plant at my uncle's house, well, I have reserves for the whole year hehehe...

As for which HIVE users I would share this drink with, without a doubt with my friends at The Terminal. @brittandjosie , @thekittygirl , @stayten , @wesphilbin , @trippymane and @josueprime, for sure.

Cheers for the mention folks!

I do remember that flower picture and I'd say this would be a very tasty drink! I used to be addicted to orange and passionfruit juice, also orange and mango. Something about it screams SUMMER!

Anyway, thanks for sharing and also some bonus points have been awarded for sharing a few hivers you'd like to drink with.

!ENGAGE 20

Isn't it? hahaha it's a fruit that is quite provocative to take on those hot days! And the not so hot ones too.... Here for example it's rainy season and I still prepare a glass of juice a few times a week!

I sometimes open up a few passionfruit's and empty them on vanilla ice cream - Not a drink of course, but good just the same.

Fruit is very good to combine with other things. For example, there are people who make the juice and mix it with cornstarch, put it on the fire until it becomes a thick mixture and it is like a VERY tasty jelly! There are many recipes.

Outstanding!! We certainly love hanging out with @gaboamc2393 at @theterminal !

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

I like passion fruit! I know of none growing nearby, but I sometimes see the juice combined with tea and other drinks! Quite yummy! 😋 The flowers are so pretty and breathtaking, too! 💗

Oh it is a very versatile fruit. I know people who have them in their homes just to have the flowers. They prune them constantly and because of this care the plant produces the flower but not the fruit. The flowers, by the way, produce a very pleasant fragrance.

I would gladly take a drink of that tasty beverage, my friend. Regards

Man this looks amazing, I would love to drink that especially on a nice warm summer day. I never knew what passionfruit plants looked like, let alone that they make such lovely flowers!

I do remember the photo! It's really cool to see the end of that process. I really like stuff like that.

I have the best grapefruit tree in Yuma. It's 100% in the neighbor's yard so he water's and fertilizes it, but maybe 20% of it hangs in my yard so I get the fruit with none of the effort!

You really remember the picture...how cool! It was like four or five rounds ago. I remember someone commenting "finally a flower photo".

I have the best grapefruit tree in Yuma. It's 100% in the neighbor's yard so he water's and fertilizes it, but maybe 20% of it hangs in my yard so I get the fruit with none of the effort!

HAHAHAHAHA It's great! It's a VERY VERY yummy fruit, I've made jusgos with that fruit and asljalsjdlkajsdlk... it's delicious.

It is one of my favorite drinks, and for dessert it is too rich with gelatin and condensed milk.

I have never eaten it with jelly and condensed milk, but it sure is tasty. In "Manjar" it is also very good! I don't know if you know how it is... you make passion fruit juice and then add "cornstarch", it's a delight!

If I have tried it and you are right, it is delicious.

Coffee, only two cups in the morning to kick-start the day then water! But now the favourite springs to mind Irish Coffee

Irish Coffee light up the burner, no short cuts this is fun. Preparing and Sharing... Coffee with @jaynie and @lizelle

Joe Sheridan
Cream - Rich as an Irish Brogue
Coffee - Strong as a Friendly Hand
Sugar - Sweet as the tongue of a Rogue
Whiskey - Smooth as the Wit of the Land

OK, so here is a great link to read with recipe Irish Coffee

No instructions about the burner, glass warmed by spinning, also able to burn the alcohol out if not desired, the rest speaks for itself.... Just do it right!

Giphy to the rescue...

Ah yes Irish coffee is always a good beverage to enjoy. I've had a few in my day, and will do so again I'm sure. Also, some additional points have been awarded for calling out a couple hivers to share it with.

Thank you for linking the recipe as some may not know what you refer to and, as always, thank you for supporting this engagement concept.

Dining with friends in winter months after a good meal, enjoying an Irish coffee with Whiskey (Scot spelling without the "e" - Irish with an "e") rounding off an evening.

Almost a done thing at one time, hope more come join in the fun, have a great weekend!

Coffee with a glug of whiskey...What's not to like? 😀

Thanks Joan, I hope you also have a good weekend.

Shoooot, three Hive ladies from SA at a table sippin coffee. Don't mind if I do.

Enjoy whilst you are able I say! All welcome 😄

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

I've had coffee by the gallon, but not much Irish Coffee. You see, my people were all German growing up and didn't much trust the English or Irish. Saint Paddy's day was pretty darn quiet in my little town :)

I suppose I should ask my brother about it now that he's Irish. I believe I will!

We so mixed down here..., who knows what blood runs in the veins! Referred to as an Irish stew too 😄

Everything in moderation my Dad always said, till I made him an Irish Coffee ha ha....

Ahahahahaha. My best father-in-law (my best ex wife's dad) liked a little crown royal in his coffee on the weekends. Turns out, so did I :)

I was raised in a German speaking community so, you know. Turns out I am very much North European but my brother turns out to be enough Irish to get a legacy passport if he is so inclined...

Northern cold countries appeared to have that treat in the mornings before going out into the cold to attend church. My Scottish neighbour told me when growing up, a dash of whisky in tea was to warm you for the walk.

My side of the family have been here too long, have a smattering of ancestors from Scotland, England and Dutch, raised English. Husbands father born in UK did get his legacy passport which he never used now expired, his mother born in Holland was unable to get one for herself emmigrating before WW11 at the age of 3 years old.

Hello, Mr. KP! How are you doing? I hope great.
This topic really called my attention because since I'm a little girl I've drank many delicious drinks my aunt Malvina has made up, hehe.
The drink I enjoy the most is a mix between Grenadine, black tea cooled in the fridge, lemon and sugar. It has no name, but I'll call it: "Sweet Malvina"
I first tasted one day when I went to her house after going to a medical appointment, I think. We had breakfast and then she took a Tupperware with black tea from the day before out of the refrigerator, poured some in a glass, took her precious grenadine and poured some in the glass too. I thought she had finished, but then she took a lemon out of the fridge, squeezed it in the drink and, as if the grenadine wasn't sweet enough, she added a generous quantity of sugar.
I'm a huge fan of sugar, and of weird stuff, so I obviously love it!!!
I haven't drunk it anymore, but it was that good that if I close my eyes and imagine it, I can still taste it.
You should try it out 😊

Sweet malvina huh? It sounds...Sweet.

I've never tried grenadine but I know what it is and in the combination above I'd say it would make for a tasty drink indeed. I like to hear about people's special mixes and combinations and this one sounds like one I'll have to try!

Also, I'm not sure where you got that video footage of me mixing a cocktail. 😜

!ENGAGE 20

If you try, let me know! 😁

untitled.gif

Hahaha, yep, that's you.

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

I love the sound of this drink, which is unlike any other drink I have ever heard of! But I am scared for my teeth if I would drink this regularly!

Hehehe... You have to brush your teeth every time you drink it. 😏😀untitled.gif

That does sound tasty indeed...
untitled.gif

I really like the 'family' grade drinks. In the winter time my mom would make hot lemonade that was good beyond all reason. I didn't find out until I was way grown up that it also supported whiskey well :)

I love lemonade, cold and hot
.. Hahaha untitled.gif

Hello everyone. Thanks @doriangel for inviting me,
a great cup of coffee in the morning, afternoon and evening gives you energy and cheers up your soul. It's so much so that when I don't drink coffee I get a headache. for me coffee at breakfast is my great companion.

when I don't drink coffee I get a headache

Coffee withdrawals huh? That's the sign of a true coffee lover! 😀

I can't imagine life without coffee although I drink just as much tea and water is the drink I most consume. I like my coffee though and as you say, it cheers me up.

Thanks for joining in this week, your first time I think.

!ENGAGE 20

Yes, I am a total coffee lover, water of course is the drink that we should consume in greater quantity, water is vitality. But I don't know what it's like to live without coffee either.
I'm just starting on Hive and it's my first time here.

I had a look at your post-feed and realised you're pretty new to hive. Getting involved with a few concepts is a good way to meet people and it's relationships with other users that will help you drive your account forward. 😀

Yes, I am still getting to know all that hive offers and learning every day, I hope to make good friends and improve my content every day to strengthen my account. So far I really like how things work here. Thank you very much for the advice.

I have trouble drinking warm drinks during the warm months of the year. So ice coffee and tea for me please...

untitled.gif

It's 92f (33C) right now as the sun is newly up. I'm trying to decide if I need to make another pot of coffee or if it's time to switch to ice tea...

Let the record show that coffee won. I'm just about to get my first cold tea of the day. It's 1000 and 98f (38 C).

Ya'll Coff-a-holics are nutzz..!

I am thinkin' above 65° is a no go on the hot choco/coff/tea for me...

You juss' crazy...

untitled.gif

I had an iced coffee today bro, and it's winter! 😄

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

When my last ex was pregnant her MD told her she had to quit coffee. She drank coffee like I did, by the gallon. So he allowed her two table spoons per day to prevent the headaches.

Every morning I'd mix a coffee to her specs (I drink mine black) and administer the two tablespoons to her-before I even spoke to her :)

This is what happens to my mother, a day without coffee, a headache day.

Hey friends,

My favorite drink is coffee! I hope it is worth as a beverage: P

Coffee has become a friend throughout my day: in the morning when I wake up is the first thing I want and is essential for the shock that sweeps sleep residues.

IMG_20210605_113340.jpg

At work coffee is also an occasion of aggregation and chatter with my colleagues, it helps us to face the day more serenely

Still after the lunch break a cup of coffee helps me to vanish drowsiness effects from digestion, essential to continue to do my job well.

For all these reasons coffee is the preferred drink: fast, effective and economical. How George Clooney would say: What'else?

Lol...What I love coffee comment would be complete without a George Clooney quote! 😀

Coffee is one of the most popular drinks on the planet and for good reason...Here in Australia it's a massive industry and I know in other countries also. Did you know that it's Scandinavian/Nordic countries that hold the top five or so spots on the list of most coffee consumed per capita? That surprised me. Italy and Australia aren't even in the top ten apparently. 😆

Anyway, I'm not surprised coffee is one of your favourite drinks but I'm assuming you down a Peroni or two now and then also right?

!ENGAGE 20

Yes, I am also amazed that coffee represents such a high percentage of drink consumed per capita! I was in Stockholm a few years ago and I saw that many use it as a very diluted drink, like American coffee.

The Peroni is an excellent beer but in the evening dedicated as a nice barbecue or to accompany a pizza. I am not a great lover of beer personally but here in Italy Peroni is certainly the most drunk: it does not have a high alcohol content and is also ideal for aperitifs 😊

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

I'm with you! Coffee in almost any form is the answer to the question.

Did you know that bad and old coffee make you beautiful 🤩 hahah for this time I choose the new drink I just discovered. I had to salute life on the day @wolfhart left the physical world yesterday and did that with the new Berry Fresco from liquor 43.
Its nice, and white wine based. It’s sparkle and sugary taste is great. I drank it with a straw and lots of ice.

Gonna look at the other drinks in the #weekend now

bad and old coffee make you beautiful

I'd need more than that to do the job. #nohopeforme

Ah yes, I saw that post of yours earlier and wondered if you'd make it over here to drop it. Good to see you using a stainless steel straw too; So environmentally aware.

I'd probably give that drink a try despite not being all that much of a drinker mostly. Enough of those and anything could happen though and I'm as funny as fuck after a few drinks I'm told.

I hope you're well Britt, looking after yourself and all.

!ENGAGE 20

I am funny as fuck aswell, at least I think I am and after two wine max I always get really tired , so when I drink it’s at home and when we go out I am always the designated driver.

Had a rough day remembering a great steemer yesterday but other that’s that what is more important than family and watching the new beckham

253FFEC7-FDFD-49CC-A4F8-D5E695D06CE7.jpeg

So yes all is good hope you have a great weekend too, I am gonna go and reply to the weekenders and see what they are up to in the world

Two is about all I'll ever drink to be honest, I'm not a get drunk sort of guy. Three and I start to get funny. 🤪

Ah yeah, wolfy...I interacted with him a bit actually. It's good to remember him. The beauty of a person now gone is in what's felt and not forgotten. So I believe anyway.

Good to see the lads out there running about rather than on computer games. ✅

Have yourself a good weekend yeah? Take care of yourself.

From one Funny Fucker to another...

Would you like some fries with those three adult beveragesuntitled.gif

Lol...After three alcoholic drinks I tend to let my guard down a little. [A lot.] It doesn't happen often as I rarely drink more than two. [One if I'm honest.]

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

Very cool if you. Haven't seen @wolfhart spelled out on the platform for what? Two years now?

Not quite sure when everything got swapped around, drink whatever you enjoy, you only live once!

Love that pink stuff above never heard of it, would taste since how does one know if you don' try?

Now this Berry 43 looks really tasty. I will be on the lookout for it. I wonder if I can find it over here in the formerly united states of hypocrisy..? lol

untitled.gif

It looks just terrific Britt!

Just Friday I celebrated 31 years sober. One of my very few regrets in life is that I can't try some of the 'new' drinks that are available. I'm glad that I occasionally get a review from a friend.

Thank you.

This one is definitely easier than last week! I'm going to go with quality coffee; just plain, black, and delicious, quality coffee is my most favorite thing in the mornings. We have a good roaster near us, so we are fortunate. Yum...I'm already thinking about sucking down a few mugs tomorrow morning.

Way easier just like I promised mate.

Coffee and tea have been the most popular drinks on the topic and I'm not surprised although I had expected more alcohols to feature...Maybe those people are to fucken drunk to comment though? 😆

I had four coffees yesterday and usually only have one before lunch as a few months ago I decided to limit my intake to help me sleep better. It worked, but last night...Up all night basically. I didn't mind though as I got some chapters read.

Anyway dude, by the time you read this you'll be sucking it down and enjoying that bitter goodness.

Just a hint about next weeks topic...Also easy I think, just get to thinking about what you want. I think I know what you'll answer already, but let's see.

!ENGAGE 20

haha, yeah, Saturday night party night! Lol, these zombie dusts are going down too easy as well :/

Yeah, if I drink coffee in the afternoon, I get super wired and have trouble sleeping. I've noticed that more as I've gotten older too. I'm turning in to that 45 year old cliche guy!

You're 45? I wouldn't have thought that, you only look 44 and 364 days old in your profile picture! 😂

lol, old man Dustin! going to be halfway to 90 in September - can't wait!

Halt way is better than two thirds so I'd say you're doing ok. 😏

I'm coming in at bit under 80%. What can I say?

I'm half way to 140. Lots of trees don't live that long.

Only slightly easier here my friend...

Have you seen the nightmare, that We call a "Fridge?"

Our cold storage has over 20 words to drink in there...

LMAO
untitled.gif

I saw the fridge. Pretty full, loads of drinks.

I wish I liked coffee... it always smells so good! I try occasionally, but I just don't like the taste.

Yeah, I didn't like it until I met Liza. I didn't really start drinking it every day until I was in my mid-30's. Now I can't stop !

I did start doing the occasional bulletproof coffee - you might like that if you are curious.

Thanks for the suggestion but I think since I've made it this long without it, I'll probably stick to tea!

Hmmm. I didn't like it either-until I was about 10. I was maybe 12 when my father made me quit adding cream and sugar. Told me I should drink hot chocolate if I needed sweet :)

I was not allowed to drink coffee as a child. I think I was told it would stunt my growth, or something!

Absolutely! Not really much more to say except "More Coffee!"

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

When I saw this I said "what, is it the weekend again?" hahahaha the week went by quickly.

Hi Galenkp, the topic of this weekend I like (like all the previous ones). If it's about my chosen drink, I must mention black tea. Tea accompanies me almost every day. I can literally have 4 or 5 cups of tea in the day, I really like it. Maybe in the summer I drink a little less because of the heat, but I never completely stopped taking it. When I went to university I would study late into the night with a jug full of tea, it has the same effect on me as coffee.

I want to share this photo that they took of us on summer vacation. Here we are my hivers friends @heypuch, @calisto24 and I, each creating our content to finance our holidays. It was very early in the morning, and I was having my first cup of tea of the day 😅!

184361423_10220003260054933_2027912150143680482_n.jpg

Hmmm..?

Tea...

Sweet and over ice is on my short list.

untitled.gif

Ah, sweet relief of hot days at college. This was the thing you could see everybody was drinking when noon hit us with its merciless fire.

I have never tried iced tea, I should definitely give it a try.

I'm not surprised the first drink mentioned is tea as it's such a widely consumed beverage.

I love tea too, and take it black. My preferences are Earl Grey, English Breakfast and Rooibos and I'd have at least two cups a day usually. Like you I tend not to do so on really hot days though.

Do you have a favourite tea?

!ENGAGE 20

The truth is, I only consume the one I buy in the supermarket that comes in bags. Nothing too fancy, now that you mention it I should try other varieties 😂.

Well, I guess if you're happy with what you're drinking there no reason to change. I like to try new things though so I'm happy to give it a go. Sometimes it works out and sometimes not.

Yes, I also like to try new things. But for example when I go to a coffee shop I don't drink tea 😅, I guess it's just a drink to spend the day at home or while I'm working.

This is what makes you uniquely you; You do what works for you. 😊

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

Haha I wait for the weekend to have fun on @galenkp 's weekend topics I like to know other people from other parts of the world.
Well drinking tea in a summer is something which no one will recommend you to have but being a tea lover I will encourage you if you will have 1 or 2 cup more haha. Same goes with me when it comes to tea in summer I can't leave tea especially when it comes to meet up with friends on hotel with a cup of tea.

The tea is great. I've never had iced tea, maybe that's the solution for the summer.

It sounds good but I guess it is not locally available here. Where is it available locally ? In Africa?

Super super super recomendable con algunas rodajas de limón, un poco de menta y miel para endulzar. Es rico, ligero, hidrata y refresca. ❤

A lot of people tend to love tea very much and it's not surprising either.
It's funny how the three of you are pretty much busy with your mobiles at different angles @lauramica lol

With the mind in the game 😂.

Hahahaha, indeed. Very obvious lol

Green Rooibos, Cinnamon Sticks boiled both refreshing to drink with no caffeine in either.

Sounds great!

its always delightful for me seeing people blog and get active on hive. I never had black tea before. heard they have a lot of health benefits.

My main benefit is that it takes away my sleep, is that healthy 😂?

Tea! I need to buy more black tea. Those are some great quantities you drink, but I bet you like it that much. I would do the same with coffee, but you know it can get me sick.

Yes, coffee seems more powerful than tea-

Indeed, but as far a I know processed tea has caffeine too, so it is also an energy booster!

I'm with you! Tea, all day long! Good hearty black tea. I've recently learned to enjoy Chai, too. No milk, just nice spicy Chai.

It's real hard for me to argue with Tea. I'm a coffee guy in the morning but drink green tea by the gallon later in the day.

Well, the topic came and it is interesting after all.

Hmm... I gotta say there's two things we Latins love to drink. One is coffee, especially in hot weather. You can also take the variations on coffee (with milk, no sugar, with chocolate, decaf, you name it). The other is hot chocolate. And depending on where you take your chocolate in this country it is either thin or thick chocolate. I have good memories of both drinks. I have had countless coffees with friends and family always with something sweet. Hot chocolate is something I love. My grandma use to make a really thick and delicious one. My mom's ok. But mine, well, I learned how to make it and in fact I had some left until yesterday.

However, I have to say that company makes things better and I have had great company drinking water or tea. Hell, even nothing is good if you're drinking from the essence of friendship (cheesy, but it's true)

I like hot chocolate and coffee too. I only like the former when it is made with milk though. Some here have the crazy notion that hot chocolate made with water is acceptable. It's not.

I also like your last comment and agree with it completely.

!ENGAGE 20

Some here have the crazy notion that hot chocolate made with water is acceptable. It's not.

Around here we use some water as milk has become a luxury item so we use half water and half milk, but add more chocolate to compensate flavor. We add corn starch to thicken it. I have seen people using wheat flour for that and it makes me feel weird.

I also like your last comment and agree with it completely.

Company is the MSG of drinks!

Lol msg of drinks. 🤣

Yep, I understand that shortages force one to seek alternatives. I hope one day your hot chocolate can be all milk and that some sense comes back to your country.

We don't actually have shortages anymore. Since people can use foreign currency to buy goods, there's tons of products around, but they are expensive. More than twice minimum wage. I'd like to say sense could come back, but since I know my fair share of history, I know as a fact that this country has never had a drop of sense.

So...A shortage of money then I guess.

It's funny to see people here talk of lack of funds, and there are some who have a genuine reason to. But in the main most are going ok, certainly in comparison to your country. The sad pathetic thing is that here there's jobs, but so many do not want to work. Maybe we could ship them out to your country and swap them over with some of you folks who clearly would relish the opportunity.

The sad pathetic thing is that here there's jobs, but so many do not want to work. Maybe we could ship them out to your country and swap them over with some of you folks who clearly would relish the opportunity.

Well, you said the magic words. I'd love to go to a place were I could work and have the chance to do everything through hard work. I could get many things done and set my workshop in no time. But then again, that's like really difficult. And it's sad, even here people like that are abundant. Some of them have gone to other countries to perpetuate that lifestyle giving us bad reputation. It's a truly astonishing thing.

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

How interesting, hot chocolate year round. Something I wouldn't consider unless it's cold. We got to go on an extensive chocolate tour in Central America, what a treat!

I like Galen's dishwater analogy—sums it up well.

I like Galen's dishwater analogy—sums it up well.

Certainly it does!

An expensive one from Central America, that sounds incredible. Hot or could should taste amazing.

Nice thick hot chocolate topped with marshmallow in winter, thick chocolate milk shake in summer sounds good either way!

Yup, chocolate comes and goes in many forms and it's always a treat!

You making me miss a great big double thick chocolate sundae...

Ha, ha, ha. Well, I think that's a good thing to miss.

Hell, even nothing is good if you're drinking from the essence of friendship (cheesy, but it's true)

100%. I used to love my Mom's Hot Chocolate, but switched to coffee at about 12.

I have a really good friend that drinks coffee only rarely. When he does, he drinks half and half with hot chocolate. Because he found that he could get all the chocolate he wanted in Vietnam. Most of the troops got after the coffee...

That's an interesting fact. When I lived with my ex-girlfriend, we used to make coffee with milk and chocolate because it's way better that way. But I'll always prefer black coffee with no sugar.

I used to love my Mom's Hot Chocolate, but switched to coffee at about 12.

Well, here you are inducted into coffee drinking from early age. I remember my breakfast before school consisted in a cup of coffee with milk and crackers. Then, I would have something better like at 9:30.

preview.jpg

Happy weekend to all of you! Like every morning A coffee to start my day and today coffee and milk , as it is my birthday.!!!!
I have a special connection to coffee as my family are coffee farmers, so I grew up watching the coffee plants bloom and then fill with seeds that go from green, yellow to an amazing red that indicates it's ready to be harvested. I grew up watching the coffee dry on the patio, then be roasted by my mom and ground by my dad. So without hesitation my drink of choice is coffee. But 100% pure coffee. None of those strange combinations they make to make it up and fool the consumers. And the best thing about this drink is the good company and good conversations that come with a cup of coffee. By the way I would love to have a cup of coffee with @mileamjmcv, @surglen, @fragozar01 and share our experiences in the hive.

It's your birthday today? Happy birthday to you! 🎉

I'm not sure but figure coffee would have to be one of the most popular drinks on the planet as so many people drink it. Interestingly Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark are the top four coffee drinking countries per capita. It surprised me.

Anyway, thanks for joining in and telling us a little bit about coffee farming.

If I'm on my birthday today, thank you very much, I suppose that if it is one of the most popular drinks, in Latin America it is very popular, although I see that he is beating you here, in my country tea is also consumed, but it is more focused to natural medicine, for a remedy as they say here, it is much more common for people to have their cup of coffee, at breakfast and also in the middle of the afternoon, with a snack.

I tend not to drink coffee after mid-afternoon as it keeps me up at night but on the weekends I do I guess.

that's true, if you drink coffee too late, you can't sleep, it doesn't work with me...when I need to study I drink coffee and drink coffee, I always feel sleepy.

You always feel sleepy even after coffee? Maybe it's the study that puts you to sleep. 😂

hahaha yeah that's for sure, it's 3am I got up to study by the way, I still don't drink coffee. but I'll make it.

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

I just can't imagine how good the smells must be going through the whole process! Must be heavenly.

Obviously I don't grow my own (though I have thought of a 'patio grade' plant) or even roast it, but I do grind my beans for every pot. Today I am drinking Italian (very dark) roasted beans from Nicaragua.

I had a wonderful roaster in Phoenix as a supplier when I had my coffee shop, and up until a couple of years ago had a good friend with a coffee shop AND roaster. That was good for the 10 years that it lasted!

Right there with you...love the whole beans

If nothing like being part of the process, you enjoy every sip even more, here is a kind of bean they use to make chocolate, is it something similar to what you are drinking?
10 years excellent, it would be good if you could find another toaster...

No, I drink just coffee. And the truth is most of the beans I get are harvested pretty green so they'll last longer. Your nice red beans are finished better than mine, just generally speaking.

Mine is also coffee ... 100% pure, but days ago I tried a white bean drink and it really tastes like chocolate

I've had a bit of that 'white bean' coffee. It is sweeter for sure.

I know a guy that lives in Hawaii who harvests wild coffee and sends some of it to the mainland. That is some tasty stuff. I also have a bag from a coffee plantation in Hawaii hanging on the wall in my living room.

On three, ready

One and two and...

Happy Birthday!

If your device is working properly, three dozen coffee filled balloons just covered your screen

hahaha I think I will have to repair my device, I don't see anything out there, anyway thank you very much. the important thing is the intention.

Happy birthday @doriangel growing up on a coffee farm, drinking freshly roasted, Oh a dream come true!

Thank you very much, yes a great blessing, nothing like the aroma of coffee, especially on those cold mornings.

Only ever been on one coffee plantation and it was great seeing the process all the way through, plus great coffee to drink and beans buy before leaving.

I'm glad you had that experience, it's a long process, there is a lot of work behind a cup of coffee.

En:

Miss... coffee could not be missing here. At my grandmother's house they make three thermoses a day, they drink too much coffee. Surprisingly, I didn't get used to drinking as much coffee as they do, but when they offer me, I definitely drink coffee hahaha.

My parents drink coffee all the time, I only drink it about three times a day, but it is a gratifying beverage.

I've changed as I've gotten older. I used to start and finish my day with coffee. Now I drink tea and water in the afternoon, evenings.

That's true, habits change according to our circumstances. My aunt, for example, had to stop drinking coffee all day! Now she only does it in the morning.

Ah this is an easy one for me! Since it is currently summer and has been super hot in the Netherlands this week my favorite is to go to my neighborhood bar, sit down on a terrace-boat (yes those are in thing in the Netherlands) sit in the shade and order a nice ice cold pint of Cider! It's only just been noon here but even writing this post makes me almost want to head over and have a cold one haha
image.png

Though I like beer a lot as well, on hot days nothing beats Cider in my opinion. I saw a lot of people here respond with tea or coffee, but in the summer I hardly drink it, as the result is just me sweating more. And I don't actually drink any coffee at all, as I don't like the taste... (I am almost scared to say it out loud in this coffee loving community) But in the winter I like a nice cup of tea. Hope you all get to enjoy your favorite drink this weekend!

I don't like the taste of coffee, either. I've only had good Cider a few times, both times while traveling in Europe. I must not hang out in the right places, but I have never had it here in the US.

Ah a fellow non coffee drinker! It can be difficult for us in a coffee oriented world! I have to say now that you mention it, I have never seen cider in the US either. I have seen some really nice local breweries though!

I usually carry teabags in my purse for situations where I need to ask for a cup of hot water.
I have had bottled cider here, but it's not the same as when it is on tap.

You're right on tap is always better!

YOU DON'T LIKE COFFEE?! WHAAAT?!

Lol...Actually it's ok not to like it, no stress. It's all personal choice. 😊

I like the sound of a cider and I'm more into drinking cider than beer by a long way! We have one here called Bulmers and they do an apple or pear version. There's other brands of course.

There's nothing quite like a super-cold glass of the good stuff! I'd join you on a terrace-boat for a coldie for sure.

!ENGAGE 20

Oeh I like Bulmers! Here where I live (Leiden) there is only one bar that serves Cider from the cask and it's Magners, so not that much choice unless I will go with bottles, which is nice too!

People always think it's weird I don't drink coffee especially because I am a teacher and I think the coffee consumption of my colleagues lies far above the national average haha

Oh you have Bulmers too? It's English I think to be honest. Good stuff.

I know a few who don't drink coffee, it's not weird. Just a choice I guess. Probably just a little weird for a teacher though, you're right. 🤣

Wow, a refreshing drink indeed! I had a good laugh about the coffee. As I said in another comment above, at my grandmother's house they make three thermoses of coffee a day, they drink a lot of coffee, too much! But come on, you can live without coffee too haha.

Haha I worked as a cleaner for people in retirement homes when I was in university to make some money for my studies. All these old ladies and gentlemen would all make me coffee when I came to clean. Many of them would just put a cup of coffee in front of you without asking if you wanted coffee, so I have drunk my fair share of coffee, but never liked the taste!

The elderly are like that. My grandmother, for example, if she hasn't had coffee in the morning, then she doesn't start the day well....

And of course, coffee is a drink that most drink, but if I understand you. I'm not a coffee lover either, in fact I don't drink coffee in the morning, I prefer a juice in the morning or a tea, but coffee I don't know... even when I was in college, in order not to fall asleep during study nights I drank coke or things like that....

Yeah I drank lots of coke in college as well to keep me awake. I had an evening class in Brazilian history that always required lots of caffeinated soda to stay awake haha

Yes, in my case, I studied computer science. I had to program until late at night and, well, I had to work miracles to stay awake... now this question comes to my mind: what would passion fruit with cocoa taste like...? It would be an interesting mix...

Hmm I am not too sure. I am not the biggest fan of fruit and chocolate combinations with the exception of bananas and chocolate

I've not had too much 'hard' cider, but I did enjoy it when I've had it.

I don't understand 'don't like the taste of coffee'. Certainly the auto correct did you evil in that line. 😄

Great stuff, I love when I get to spend time with quality people even if it means drinking something heinous!

For this one I’m going to have to go with what we called a coffee royal. In my parents house before things went to shit with our family, we would spend lots of holidays at my uncles house and that meant the winter holidays as well as a few days here and there throughout the year besides that. One of my favorite parts of the day as I got older were the times after the meals were done and we were all hanging out at the table playing games and stuff. We loved to play dominos and would be a cutthroat game for sure! My grandfather got me into drinking the coffee royals. It was coffee mixed with homemade anisette liquor, my grandfathers famous recipe, and Bailey’s Irish cream. I made my own version of it and swapped out the Bailey’s with egg nog! It’s by far one of my favorite drinks to enjoy not only because it tastes great but it reminds me of such wonderful family times and memories. Sadly those days are long gone and won’t have the chance to relive that so it’s good to have those experiences with family and people I valued, and to associate a nice drink with that type of stuff. Some great things to think about from this one, thanks as always man!

Other than that coffee recipe which I would've loved to sample back in my drinking days, we have the whole rest of your story in common. Even the bones.

I should probably stop now.

Bro I'm pretty sure, nay, am confident, you and I would smash down a few coffee royals and have a good time doing so. Of course many lies would ensue, many laughs also. I declare this a legit drink, and not just because of the bullshit session we'd share them over.

We can't pick our family, but can [mostly] pick our memories and to remember the good ones is best.

Thanks for joining in and, as always, adding a personal touch to your comment.

@galenkp good morning to you boss, I hope the bad drink didn't purge you?

I keep telling people make sure you make your choice in all situations around you, don't just jump into train where you're not sure of it's destination.

This is a lesson to all fellows out there, don't order for food in a cafeteria because you see one celeb ordered it, chain fit dog but it doesn't fit goat.

Now for me I enjoyed taking tea alot whether with warm or cold water, i love tea especially with just milk and anything brownish in color , it keeps me alert when i want to concentrate on anything, i take tea at night most especially to keep me awake to do research, reading and writing.

Sometimes i can take small bread with it

I also take green, brown and yellow tea.

See the below

IMG_20210618_091104_338.jpg

IMG_20210618_091023_338.jpg

What is the size of that blue cup? I think I am seeing it extra large size 😅 or you are showing that how much you love tea?

Is not extra size

I see a can of Milo there so thought you were going to say Milo was your favourite drink. I like Milo, not as good as hot chocolate, but close...If made with milk, not water.

chain fit dog but it doesn't fit goat.

Good quote that. ✅

!ENGAGE 20

I love Milo alot no doubt but something must be added to it @galenkp

I normally add hot milk, what do you add?

I add hot milk with honey

Honey would be good in it I'd say.

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

You're living the dream. I honestly thought you'd say Milo was your favorite drink.

@stevenson7 , honestly i love Milo

This is a nice array of things to drink. I like your mug too.

Thank you i appreciate

You're very welcome :D

Greetings @galenkp Hope you're doing well 😊❤️
You were right when you said that great company makes average food better I've experienced it as well.

My most favorite drink is non other than everyone's favorite TEA 😁 my day starts and ends with a cup of tea. It energizes me enough to wake up and face the world Lol😅 I love this more than all other drinks.

IMG_20210321_213958.jpg
As you said that average food is made better with a great company.
My go to friends for tea are not using Hive so can't really mention them but @princewaqar and I have shared a lot of things over cups of tea.😁❤️
Also I would like to have a cup of tea with @abdulwahab4004 and meet him in person as we live in the same city, learn more from him about Hive as this is where I knew him. 🌼😊

Company adds more flavor to everything. Maybe to rip off Uncle Roger, company is the MSG of drinks. Makes every drink taste better.

Chalk up another one for tea...It's going to be a popular choice I think.

It looks like you have your tea white from what I can make out in that cup...What sort of tea do you drink? I prefer English Breakfast or Earl Grey, both black and I like Rooibos too, sometimes chai with a dash of milk...It's all dependent on my mood.

!ENGAGE 20

Yep... tea will probably be the most popular? Not coffee..?

Coffee is also a preferred drink so can't deny it's importance

"My most favorite drink is non other than everyone's favorite TEA" haha I am with you dear.
Yes dear I am also planning to meet you hope we will meet very soon. It would be quality time with you I don't know because of company or tea haha and yes don't forget @nadirali as well.

@Nadirali bhai meets us quite often he is always invited 🌼😊

That's good, lets meet today then in the evening. I have 1 more day here in Larkana on Sunday I will be travelling back to Hyderabad.

ok dear, I would be better today evening we set a get together. What you say? @abrarhussain and @abdulwahab4004

yes IN SHA ALLAH

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

Cheerful lads.

I still wonder if all tea are the same. Like if you're having a particular type and if I am having a particular type.

I almost never drink alcohol. So this is a battle between tea and coffee...This is hard. I drink more tea. I think that tea has greater variety of flavors...But I also love my cup of coffee after dinner. Especially if I eat an orange before that. For some reason I really like that combination.

I'd ne surprised if you drank alcohol, haha. I mean, how do you then do all those great drawing if you always get woozy haha.

Thank you. At times I wonder what I would create if I would be on drugs...Perhaps I am already crazy enough and it would make no difference😜

See, thats crazy talk right there🤣

Eat an orange and then drink coffee...Hmm, now I'm curious. I don't think I've ever done that, but seemingly it's a good combination?

I think let's just call yours an even 50/50 split between tea and coffee. Both have their merits and both are legit! With tea, what's your favourite and with coffee how do you mainly take it?

!ENGAGE 20

Most of the time I drink loyd raspberry and strawberry tea.I don't put any sugar in my tea or coffee and I drink them when they are not too hot.

Yep same here, no sugar and I can't drink it when it's scalding hot. raspberry and strawberry sounds like a nice mix. As fruity as I get usually is a lemon round dropped in...But stranger things have been known to occur. I might give it a try.

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

Well sir I appreciate your choice but being a tea lover I would recommend you tea 😁. Actually coffee is not a bad idea sometimes I do drink but when it comes to replace tea then I shall discourage you haha.

Fair enough. I don't think that I will ever stop drinking either tea or coffee.

Always hot.? Or cold and sweet like mine..?

 3 years ago  Reveal Comment

I also started drinking coffee maybe only a few years ago.

With the continuing issues surrounding covid and wanting to up my vitamin C intake a little bit and try to de-oxidize my aging body a little in the process also, I have for the last 3 months been suffering through a cranberry juice extract and tonic water mix to help with my health. I don't know if it is doing any good or not, but it is a good morning wake-up drink on an empty stomach drink. It is bitter, but it actually kind of taste good. It is certainly not a sipping drink, this is about 4 ounces of chug it in two, three big sip at most.

So a couple of spoons of cranberry extract, and about three ounces of tonic water, and a sharp wake me up drink is born. The after taste is pretty much gone after the first bite of scrambled eggs, or the first sip of water or your morning coffee.

I've always liked cranberry juice although I think you're talking about something quite different. It's high in vitamin C though so despite the taste is probably helping your situation. I generally ingest a vitamin C pill each day although I'm not really sure if it it's having any effect or not...Just habit I guess.

Anyway, I had a cranberry juice and vodka once. Ok, twice. It was quite tasty. Maybe one day I'll have another. Clearly that's not a wake me up drink though as is yours.

!ENGAGE 20

I have been taking two vitamin C chewies every morning, 500mg each, but I thought I needed some of the antioxidant properties of the Cranberry Juice extract. It is just cheaper getting the extract and making my own drink than buying the little 10 oz bottles to drink. (they were getting expensive, 12 dollars for 6 10 ounce bottles)

I'm going to try mixing it with soda water tomorrow morning.

Everything is expensive these days...Prices creep up little by little and as individual items sometimes fly under the radar but when the overall shop is calculated...$50 more every fortnight is a lot of money. Sign of the times...When hyper-inflation arrives I'll have to get a wheel barrow to take my money to the shop for a loaf of bread. [Maybe I should buy the wheel barrow now.]

To late, I hear they are recalling all wheel barrows, for safety reason, they all need to have electric motors attached so that people need to plug them in and then recharge them every 500 feet. The electric company needs to make more money, the wheel barrow makers need to make more money, the plastic or metal workers need more work, the tree people are just itching to get out there and start chopping trees down for the handles, oh what a wicked world the wheel barrow makers have made, to justify their recall.

!ENGAGE 20

Lol...Funny, but not far off reality I'd say considering all the nutbaggery going on around the world.

I prefer a large carafe of lemonade, like the one I enjoyed here. But it has to be a good one, I don't prefer those with mineral water or if they aren't made with natural lemons. I also enjoy those with other flavours, such as strawberry for example. You have to check some places to find that good lemonade. I like the mix between the sweet and sour taste and I think it can go along with many dishes.
56384973_2302251816487888_172457587067846656_n.jpg

Considering my Hive fellows round here, I would be curious to enjoy this lemonade in the company of @julianhorack because I have seen he is vegetarian like me and also has some spiritual interests.

Who doesn't love some ice cold lemonade! Nice choice, and extra points are being awarded for not saying tea as so many have already done so. 😆

I like that sweet and sour combination also and on a hot day love to fill a glass with ice and lemonade...Although I throw in some fresh mint too. :)

Thanks for joining in and well done on announcing a hiver you'd like to share lemonade with.

!ENGAGE 20

Oh, yes, I also love it with fresh mint 🙂 Sometimes I do it at home and I search for mint to put in and sometimes I enjoy it with limes also. Thank You for the points, I appreciate it 🙂

Tea is good in fact but I am not a tea person, I do make home tea very rarely. I usually drink tea when I go out and I feel like warming up. So, try that maté 😅 Tea is good in my opinion when you find that special flavour you like. Otherwise, it's boiled water 😄

Lol, boiled water. 😂

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

This is a great choice. I love critic fruits. I'm also kind of allergic to them, but I enjoy a glass of lemonade every once in a while and then take a pill. 🤣

Haha...that's a good one even if I understand it is not that pleasant considering your allergy 🙂

giphy

It's not a killing allergy, just some annoying sneezes. Ha, ha, ha. That gif is just precious!

Oh you are absolutely right, ice cold lemonade is really good, especially when it's hot and you are thirsty. I find other countries often have way better lemonade than the Netherlands. I only really discovered it when I was in the US and people had lots of it.

That's interesting to taste different lemonades in various countries. I don't really remember seeing it in my menus in the European countries I have visited...🤔

No I fear most Europeans have not discovered the awesomeness of lemonade...

You mentioned good company above, I do agree whatever you say I have heard a lot of quotations regarding good company and bad company one of my favourite is, "your company reflects your character whether good or bad". This quotation is common here, my elders advice me quoting this and they say to chose a company whom I can proudly introduce with everyone.**
Coming on the topic**
Tea is most go to drink for me. I always want a cup of tea just after awaking in morning though I know it is not good to drink before breakfast but it has become my habit.
img_0.7632189788784752.jpg

We could be good fellow tea drinkers 😃.

Oh yes actually a good idea, I have heard people became good fellows because of sports etc but fellows because of "tea" is always welcome I mean you go out alone and drink tea alone would not be a good idea when you have "Tea mates" haha.

I believe the people we surround ourselves with, the influencers, have a huge impact on us. We can choose to make them good ones and soar with the eagles, or bad ones and stay on the ground with the turkeys. #choices

Tea is a good one and I'd say is going to a popular choice this week. I like it, drink it and...Yep, I drink it prior to breakfast too! I'm still alive though, so it can't be too bad.

!ENGAGE 20

Indeed our choice matters a lot. Yes I would recommend you "tea" though I am not doctor but I consider tea as natural medicine, it cures many things like bad moods, tiredness and etc 😁

Tea is a medicine...Let's roll with it because we don't care if it's not, we're still going to drink it! 😆

Haha yes we are going to drink it anyway

Ohhhh great weekend again 😍
It's a hard topic as I like a lot of drinks, just need to have food friend and food then I swing in the air 💃 Summer is good for a pina colada😜
3e29eef9c6d0228e7bc1.jpg

Pina colada?
I think that would be a great drink. What is the color of the content? Looks like pink or is it just the container?

Haha thank you. Do you mean the bottle? Yes pink (rosé) wine which I like a lot as well 🤪

Yea. I see I got the suggestion right. It's pink and I believe it tastes great because anything pink does always taste good.

haha right said. I like to drink with u 😂

Lol I would be most delighted. Thank you!

haha, have a great week ahead.

This looks delicious 😍.

Thank you. It was our last party 😍

It is interesting to know about different drinks, we don't have these here locally available maybe order from your country if it does not cost too much 😛.

Just come over 🤪

Haha hope someday I shall...

Yes you are always welcome when the borders opened 🙌

Hard? Come on, it can't have been that hard? Anyway, pina colada seems a nice choice. I've never had one but it seems one does so when on holidays in the tropics? Anyway, someday I'll try one and I'm sure it'll be good. It's like an orange juice looking thing judging by the picture. I like orange juice so that's a good start.

!ENGAGE 20

Yeah, am a greedy person when talking about eating and drinking 👻Actually we mixed passion fruits with pineapple and a bit acohol 😋

Oh yeah, passionfruit and pineapple and I think rum? Sounds nice...I'll have to give it a try one day. 😀

Yes, one glass for a winner 🤪🍹 now it's season for pineapple and passion fruits here, it's so good drink when all ingredients are fresh

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

Ooh I love a good pina colada! I sometimes make a virgin pina colada smoothie aswell, super tasty!

Yesssss I did so too. Recently I've played a lot with different recipes 😅

Oh, nice drinks for the beach and the pool. Even better on hot weather, but careful these can make you a little tipsy. 🤣

I remember the last one I drank was something someone ordered at a dinner and then it was put on the table and nobody knew whose was it. I didn't had a drink at the moment so I took it. Needless to say it was great. And I'm not a man of sweet alcoholic beverages

haha, yes, I got tipsy if I drink 2 🤣 I know my ability is not good so I put more juice less rum 😝
Sweet alcohol is dangerous, always make me want to drink more and more.

Ha, ha, ha. That's why I like my drinks bitter. It's easier to get things in check.

haha, I bet it's hard for me to take drinks bitter ;))

It's not easy because it isn't a very nice flavor, but it is clearly an underrated one.

I vote it for "men's drink" ;)

Oeh that looks great! Nice and summer like. I also love the piggie wine bottles behind it haha! I always like to look out for bottles of wine or beer with funny designs!

haha yes, cool designs ha.Thank you 😍

My favorite drink is really simple: It's the cup of mint tea I have, first thing in the morning. Wakes me up, hydrates me and it's a nice, relaxing start of the day!

Mint tea to start the day seems like a very legit way to get it done. I like mint and have some growing fresh so often make up a lemon and mint tea. (My own lemons too). I just throw the leaves in and squeeze the lemon, no fancy methods really. It works. :)

!ENGAGE 20

Ooh, I wonder if I could grow my own lemons... not sure our climate here is favorable for them though.

I've got two types of mint growing. I loooove the chocolate mint 😍

I have quite a few different fruit trees including lemon and lime...Love picking my own produce and using it...Feels nice.

Hmm I don't think I've tried chocolate mint, can you tell me how its used? (Now I want to try some.)

Love picking my own produce and using it...Feels nice.

Same. These last few days my strawberries have been doing really well, making for a nice, fruity addition to breakfast.

I use chocolate mint the same way I use regular mint: a few sprigs(?) in hot water for tea.

Hmm, I'm going to have to see if I can find chocolate mint down here. I'm sure I could find it to grow, but doubtful I'd find some to purchase. We'll see. I'm ken to try it now.

The only way to get it here is to grow it aswell, yeah. Grocery stores just have the regular thing.

Ima go with a big fat no. Weird things like sunlight and less rain are required.

I've heard sunlight goes well with a lot of things.

Usually I'd say don't believe everything you hear but in this case it's real. Google said so.

And we all know Google's always right!

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

Indeed mint tea is refreshing drink great choice.

I haven't tried that one. Now that I read this, I reckon we only use mint around the house in soup. Weird. Sounds like a refreshing drink.

It's really tasty indeed, I can definitely recommend it :-)

I'll try it if I have a chance! :D

Our mornings begin slightly different. Hardly even notice.

Hello, happy new week to all of you.
I missed you all, I was lost because I had no computer, I hope this weekend I will resume my posts and the rewards that I am missing these days.

I found this topic here and I want to participate by commenting that my refreshing drink for those hot days and a lot of hustle and bustle under the sun is the CERVESA, a very cold one, that sometimes I can drink it as water.

other times I love to share it with my family, in a reunion telling stories, remembering and laughing.

or among friends, talking about life, dancing and singing...

a beer is a drink, super nice for a moment of recreation to give a stop to everyday life, enjoy it and be happy with good company.

I would have a beer with all of you, even if it's virtual... and I would invite my daughter, my partner @nathiv and my friend and colleague @jamidiamon

![untitled.gif](

another drink that I love and enjoy making at home on those cold days to share with my mom, is a nice cup of hot chocolate.
I have a friend who has a chocolate factory and every time I can I buy a few squares and I always have some at home to enjoy.
I mix it with milk and mmmm to enjoy watching the rain or a movie on TV.

untitled.gif)

Yay, you have a computer this week. Welcome back.

I'm not a huge alcohol drinker, I do of course, but in moderation and rarely when I'm alone. Having said that, there's certain times I'll drink certain things. I don't mind a beer now and then but it has to be cold, I mean cold! I also prefer to drink it with certain food like burgers or Mexican food.

It's a fairly universally accepted beverage I guess and is drunk pretty much all around the world and I'm sure more than a few stories have been swapped over a glass of beer.

Hot chocolate? Oh yeah that's another good one although as a diabetic man I have to be careful with my sugar intake so I limit chocolate...Still have it though! 😆

Thanks for sharing this week.

I opened my gallery to choose one of the hundreds of photos I have drinking my favorite drink, but I just decided to share this one, which is the last one I had today as I started my day! my favorite drink and probably that of the majority of Argentines, Uruguayans and Paraguayans, is mate. A drink that, in addition to warming us, keeps us company, since we carry out most of our activities with our mate in hand. It is also a good reason to meet friends "do you want to come to my house to drink mate?" or simply a message that says "heat the kettle" says it all, a friend comes and a "mate" comes.
It is simply a kind of infusion of yerba mate and water that is drunk from a bowl (also called mate) with sorbet, sugar and hot water. My favorite is to change the sugar for honey, how delicious ... I think I'm going to prepare one now :)

That beautiful mate and the background drawings of Spirited Away are all the works of my friend @calisto24

IMG_20210607_095544_018.jpg

Here mate means friend so if I was there...

I'd invite a mate to come and drink mate from a mate, prepared by their mate.

Makes perfect sense. ✅

Thanks for joining in, it sounds like an interesting drink and one I haven't heard of previously. Now I'd like to try it.

It was very difficult for me to explain that I was talking about an infusion and not about a friend hahaha good play on words. I invite you to try it, I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

If I can find it I'll try it. Mate. 😆

Oh, yes. It tastes good.

''Mate or maté[a] also known as chimarrão or cimarrón,[b] is a traditional South American caffeine-rich infused drink.''source

Lol...Now you're just trying to confuse me! 😂

Well..it's a brown tea a little bitter but still tasty 😅 In fact some people like it, others hate it. Anyway, guys who make tea should know about it...I hope 🙂

Hahahhahaha. I was about to say the same thing @galenkp
I am sure the drink will taste just fine.

Hi mate, I'm pretty sure mate is a good drink to have with a mate and if my mate was to suggest I have some mate I'd tell my mate I'd be happy to have some mate, with him, my mate.

Puns? The G-dog has got them!

One must pun.

No pun, no fun. 😂

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

Is Mate kind of tea? I have never had it I think it is not available here in Pakistan. How it taste?
By the way I like the colours in background and doodles 👌👍

By the way @heypuch I think honey is better than sugar in this case.
I wouldn't mind having this mate drink with you, why only inviting your friend?.

Isn't it a little risky keeping your mate drink close to your PC? And the charger? Or could it be that your laptop is water resistance?

Hey bella amiga! Con menta peperina o coco rallado es increiblemente delicioso!
Deseo volver pronto a verte y compartir muchas mas rondas de mate ❤❤

No podía faltar el mate por aquí. I have never tried but once I was in Brazil and saw a lot of Uruguayans drinking mate. You could tell because they travel with their cups just like that one.

Hello there!
Greetings, it's been a while. I trust you are doing well.
Isn't it funny that you tolerated a bad coffee because of the company of a friend?
By the way, for my drink, I choose Smoov Chapman.
I don't have a photo of it on my mobile so I just decided to grab it online, here it is.

images (1) (1).jpeg

The taste is great especially if served chilled in hot and harsh weather. I love Chapman for reasons I don't know. I just think the taste is great.
Majority of the ladies here love this drink as well.
It's energizing and it tastes a little bit like wine especially during the early days of its production, I can't say the same about it now.

The colour of the drink reminded me of "Sting". It is soft drink available here sometimes I drink when I eat "Biryani". I am not sure if there is similarity in taste, have you ever tried "Sting"?

No. I haven't heard of that before. Why does sting sound like the drink gonna sting?🤣😂

I don't know but they use scorpion symbol on their bottle, see.

Oh, it almost looks the same as Smoov. I am sure it tastes good

Hello there!

Hello.

Greetings, it's been a while. I trust you are doing well.

It has been and I am.

Isn't it funny that you tolerated a bad coffee because of the company of a friend?

Yep, it was difficult though, and 50% of it was left untouched.

Smoov Chapman.

I've never heard of this. I can see it's non-alcoholic so it's like a soda? Looks to be raspberry. Or strawberry. Or cranberry. Or grape. Who knows, could be anything I guess. What does it taste like?

!ENGAGE 20

Yes, it's non-alcoholic, boldly written so you got that right lol.

Somewhat like a soda but it does taste more like wine to me lol

So I came here a little late. I actually had stuff to do this morning early. I read through this and thought to myself "Self. That Galen just finally pitched a shut out. 100 people will give a one word answer and nothing else will happen." You see how much I know?

image.png

Coffee. First last and always. And keep your sissy stuff like cream and sugar away from my coffee. I'll take it black, thank you.

This is a picture of the mug I drank coffee from every day for at least 20 years. I figure I washed the cup 60 times in that 20 years.

Did you ever see John Wayne or any other real cowboy say "How 'bout a nice refreshing cup of tea."? Not ever.

Reliable old mug, sturdy old coffee brewer definitely no bugs just a little grit between the teeth every so often Tom!

I am currently undercover as a non touretter doing some research on the coffee vs. tea debate...

Sweet Tea is Winning Here.!!

untitled.gif

I'm never sure how the topics will go but people always seem to come past and add some value. Coming up with the topics can be a challenge some weeks but invariably something pops into my noggins and I run with it.

Coffee...Yep, black was how I used to have it and still do probably 30% of the time as I drink espresso. The rest of the time it's a flat white or black with a dash of milk. I'm one of those people who change it up now and then.

Having said that, I drink tea also. It's an Aussie thing I guess. There's nothing like a nice cup of billy tea made over a fire in the outback, bushman style. Throw in some eucalyptus leaves for a little more flavour and you're gtg.

Thanks for supporting the topic each week Tom. I wish more people would thank the sponsors but you know you have mine.

So. If the truth be known, I drink more tea by volume than coffee I think. When I moved to Arizona (20 years ago) I decided to drink cold tea (maybe iced) in the afternoons to keep my hydration up. Especially this time of year I drink way more green tea than coffee.

If there was only one there is no doubt for me.

I've been drinking far more tea this year than coffee also. Earlier in the year I was having a lot of trouble sleeping for various reasons and looked at my coffee intake which was three per day minimum. I went to one, and that before mid-day, and it seemed to help. I know tea still has caffeine but not as much methinks.

Either way I'm sleeping better and enjoying drinking more tea.

It's not the sleeping for me. If I have trouble sleeping through the night I often get up at midnight or 0100 and have a cup of coffee before I go back to bed :) Caffeine does not seem to bother me at all...

I do have friends that are bothered by caffeine. One has completely given up on coffee at home (he has lemonade for himself and guests) and the other has decaf in the morning only.

It's really weird for me because on weekdays I have trouble sleeping after drinking coffee late, but on the weekends not so much. Mindset I guess.

Honestly G dawg, I want to mention water, cos that's the one drink I love. Its what I have been taking for a very long time now. heck, I have a bottle just beside me now.

img_20210618_162546_033.jpg

butttt...... I drink quite a lot of water. Here In Nigeria we have sachet waters of 50cl and in my family house we get 2 bags of 20 pieces everyday. This was during the time I was living with them. I had so much water I would hear googuly sounds in my tommy. Now I left them, they tell me they only take a bag of water each day and that I was the major source of their high expenditure. so hilarious.

I'd like to share a cup of water with @dandays. His wits and good sense of humor albeit twisted attimes would make a perfect evening of pleasant conversations of different topics. heck yeah, water is my drink.

Rarely am I speechless. Thumb tied. Coolest thing anyone's said in a long time. Cheers!

Water is a great drink and I'm actually a little surprised it hasn't been mentioned previously. I was going to do a post with my most common drink and water is it. I drink other things but drink at least 3L of water a day.

I'm not a huge fan of the way the world used all those little plastic bottles as they aren't good for the environment and tend to use a reusable water bottle myself but I almost always have water with me.

Thanks for joining in!

!ENGAGE 20

There's only two bottles in the house, one for each of us. Refills.

Yep, that's the way to do it although the amount of plastic in the ocean as it is now is probably enough to ruin it. It's funny, here they have banned plastic straws...But one can buy a single use drink container and drink from it with a straw...As long as the straw isn't plastic. Fucktards.

L to the O to the L. Similar phenomenon...

A joint called Urth Cafe in Downtown LA. When I would report to the station on 5th, Urth was right around the corner on Hewitt, I loved that place! And it was right by USC University too so around lunch time the joint was just fulla bad ass chi..... uhm... college students.

Paper straws. First joint I saw do that, 'these are new.' Now they all do those paper straws but that day at Urth Cafe when they gave me my straw for the first time, the plate still came with plastic eating utensils. 🤔

:emoji birthday cake: Happy 4th year dude.

It's so retarded huh? I mean, of course you kept your cool and didn't spazz out in front of those bad ass chi...college students..But seriously what's with these people right? Total joke.

It's like this pandemic thing. Restrict numbers at a family funeral but 50,000 people in a stadium for the AFL game. Cock knockers.

Like OMG spazz riiiggght?!

I can't explain this whole pandemic thing man, if the objective was to confuse the shit out of me, mission accomplished. Each country addressing things different is understandable I guess but each county or city? Each state, county, or city. There was a time no two entrance doors had the same rules.

And the injections, hole-e shit. It's like the new introduction procedure, "I'm dick, I'm injected" like I give two shits. Such a strange thing. Not sure how I'd react if someone asked me if I'm juiced but I bet it goes something like 'none of your business, are you circumcised?'

Another fun fact I can't help but realize is the same statistic of people who still fall for that Nigerian Prince shit are the same people in line first to get juiced.

You'll understand that I'm a Cougar through and through. As I traveled from childhood to adult hood (and damn near middle age) US fucking C had their way with us in football for a long time. We beat them in 1957 in Pullman (the year I went to my first Cougar game) until 1979, again in Pullman. I hate that fucking song, something awful.

But, give the devil his due. The USC cheerleaders are something to behold. Always.

The Grand Canyon's Corporate Sponsor is Coca Cola. The number of plastic bottles from the sponsor's products in the canyon is legendary. LEGENDARY.

The only possible worse choice for corporate sponsor would be Western Nuclear.

Lol...Ain't that way of it though? Good old corporates, and humans thinking the ground is the right place for litter. Don't get me started though...I have a strong hate for smokers who think it's ok to throw their cigarette butts on the ground when done. I've done post-rants about it too.

Wow you brought water in my mouth my favourite drink is lemon juice 😋 because it is really best for summer so what i like in lemon juice water+lemon juice and some salt it also beneficial for your immune system it just boost up your energy so i would like to suggest you all here in comment box just try once

Lemonade in the summer is go to drink for most of people I can understand. Add something more in answer like why it is your favourite and what is special in it, it will attract people to read your answers and have chat with you.

Lemon juice? Only that? Or with water and sugar 😅?

I was thinking that's very sour! We drink lemon juice, hot water and some sugar or honey in winter sometimes. Watered down enough, I think lemon juice could make for a nice and refreshing summer drink 😃

He meant lemon water or simply lemonade I guess because no one would drink more than 2 or 3 table spoons of lemon juice 😛

warm water with lemon every morning brings many health benefits, it never occurred to me to add salt

I Have Loved Many...

Drinks too...

So I will have to think it over long and hard on this one...

Over a cold adult beverage of course. But just...

ONE. !!

So. In Western Washington there is a town, Tuckwilla. It's mostly famous for being the location of Sea Tac Airport AND the western end of the I-90 Freeway. It was also where the Green River Killer lived. One time in my drinking days I had an obviously drunk guy step up to the bar and order a "Tuckwilla Sunrise". I honest to God thought about mixing him a Tequila Sunrise but use gravel instead of ice. Probably would have reduced my tip, though.

I really tried to find this picture last weekend but was convinced I'd lost the damn thing. Taken by my brother at a 'semi fast food' joint in Kennewick, Wa.

Love it Tom..!

I want that shirt...

Goddammit..Fuck...Shitturds..!!

Basically comes down to all being flavoured water in one way or another, all made with water, so it depends on health next I suppose.

That looks a healthy sipping tea, could be peach or peach schnapps ha ha....

Elk burger and large sweet tea for me bro!

That drink looks refreshing

Very Sweet. Ice cold too...

I think I will open the fridge and see what is in there to drink..?

I will pour a cup full over ice and make a post about it here at...

The Weekend

You know what goes good with what ever you're drinking? Music. Particularly blues music. Since nobody else has put anything up, here is Joe Bonamassa from the "Three Kings Tour." All the songs in the set were originally performed by Albert King, Freddy King or BB King. "Let the Good Times Roll" the BB King version.

That's pretty cool, the three kings concept.
