I believe life is colourful; maybe not always the colour we wish it to be, but a kaleidoscope of colour nonetheless. We take those moments, those little threads of our lives, and weave them into what becomes a tapestry that represents the sum and total of our existence. My intention is always to weave mine with colour, pastels and vibrant both, however there's darker shades too; that's just how life goes.
It's with that thought in mind I figured we'd proceed for the #weekend-engagement topic - That is, with colour! So read on for the topic and I hope to see you get engaged.

My colour
The greens and blues of nature always bring me a sense of peace and serenity; probably because often when I'm looking at them I'm in a place that makes me feel that way.
I love far away places and places with no, or very few, other people and I'm attracted to greens and blues. I love other colours though of course, but greens and blues especially make me feel alive, comforted and at peace. They make me smile and feel settled.
The collage below probably tells the story better than my words could; it's a feel thing.

I like the blue and greens too when I'm out for drone shots... It's a great combo.
But as a favorite I'm going to go with Golden hour...
There is something about the period between 5.30pm and 7.30pm that just appeals to me. It's hot out here during the day but during that window it cools down. Also the light starts to get less and less sharp.. Shadows show up.. There is a breeze...
My energy just picks up. I don't even have to be doing anything, I could be driving a car and smiling...
So to put this into color I would say a soft yellow, the blue from the sky and then orange, pink, purple and dark blue when the sun starts setting...

It's something to do with the way the two colors complement themselves in a natural setting and then the lands and seas complement the sunset.. from blue seas to brown arid deserts to green pature lands every one of them look beautiful with a sunset

Gold is a lot of courage and it simply depicts royalty. In the medieval period, gold is seen as a symbol or attachment to the King in different society. This is a good choice you have made and many thanks to @galenkp for such an initiative.

Music and pictures! Sometimes I take my friend on these walks so we can explore new places. Luckily the weather has been tolerable here so it is manageable.

I currently live in Canada! Caribbean is beautiful. I have been extfenely fortunate to know few people here who are from the Caribbean and they have very big hearts and they are extremely friendly people. One of my favourite Professors from my University is also from the Carribean and he was an extremely impactful person. Glad to meet you @gvkanten! I hope things are going well for you 🙏.

I do call my wife my magnificent, my rising sun.... So, this scene is truly magnificent as it looks awesome.
Colours playing out in the water raise up the dark images of purples, golden orb going down is a favourite time of day. Changes as it drops with brushed orange and tinges of yellow giving a delightful appeal to the eye.

I think that would depend on where I am. If I have the view to enjoy both, it would be great to enjoy 2 golden hours is a day. Otherwise, it's easier for me to watch the sunset.

I love blue colour first without a reason. It's was my first breakthrough. The very first time I appeared confident in any attire, I wore blue, starched blue. At the event, without any assessment, I knew I was cool but smashing. Countless times, I have looked back in awe to measure my reason for having a natural love for the colour, blue.
For me, blue means inspiration. The colour speaks to me and increases my level of confidence. Little wonder the sky and sea remains unshakable. These natural elements carry a measure of boldness and are blue in colour.
At one time, I was making a defence for the colour blue, in research I found that there are many other kinds of blue. My interest was in the Royal Blue which had its origin in Buckingham Palace in the United Kingdom.
However, it may not be wrong to say that blue has it roots in royalty.

Did you know that the colour blue is supposed to convey trust? I read that somewhere and it's one of the reasons I primarily wear a blue suit with a white shirt beneath when I go to work...It looks good and sends the right messages.

Yup, because blue pigment is difficult to come by in nature. So, the oil paint was made with minerals. I think the stone is lapis lazuli. And that stuff is expensive.

Dad used a belt or apple stick poor tree only ever gave 1 fruit, Mom had the wooden spoons although we never got many from her that was dads task... Two older brothers, yup we learned to dance!... Deservedly so 😉
Funnily enough it was my mum that handed out the corporal punishments when I was a kid; never once did my dad hit me. Is that weird? Mum used get enthusiastic though, wasn't very pleasant.

I think part of the reason people like one particular color is because they have been asked what’s your favorite color from they are young. They are also in a way forced to choose one color.

My color is none other than white. Not at all racist.
The reason why I love this color is because this color symbolizes Calmness and peace. And whenever I see white clouds I watch them for quite bit longer because IDK maybe that they're mesmerizing or maybe they're in the color I adore.
I mostly put on white dresses and as my lady @noorkhaskheli says, this color suits me ❤️😄

How sad is it that we live in a society in which people feel the need to add a not racist disclaimer to a few simple words about a colour.
White has long been the colour that symbolises purity and black has been the colour to signify evil or impurity. I don't how long that's been the case, but a long, long time. Black is seen as dark and sinister where white is light and pure...It's all pretty odd really as they are both just colours, or shades to be technically correct.
By the way, colours aren't racist, nor is the mention of aby particular colour racist...People are racist if they're racist and are not, if they are not. It's pretty simple.
I wrote that disclaimer because I didn't want to sound offensive or rude or the intention was not to hurt the sentiments of anyone.
There's no denying it that black and white are just colors and it is we humans who have given the social construction and maligned the colors with the way we've wanted.
In the 1700s the British empire was in control of major parts of Asia . As Asians are majority in brown and black so we had also been a victim of white supremacy. The British used to violate human rights and that's where this relationship between the color and it's background construction came from. This mentality had been infused in us by the British empire (as the history books teach us).

You are right. Humans are the ones who attached names to colours, although, it was in accordance with what they use the different colours for. Some may use it for wealth, while some for evils which normally happened at night. Night is always the time where evils prevails and what the evil men used is black and sometimes red.

I have always been very linked to art and all its expressions so when you ask me what colors identify me, I have no doubt, it would be the primary colors.
Why is that? Because from the three primary colors, yellow, blue and red, you can make the other colors of the rainbow and a lot of other colors, especially if they are mixed with two other colors like black or white.
For example, I make figures with plasticine and other materials. I usually find plasticine of primary colors, so I have been forced to make mixtures to obtain other colors such as brown, purple and even gold.
That's why I love these three colors because they are the base of all the other colors. I would even include a fourth color in these initial three, green. If we go to the light part, if we mix the colors blue, green and red you get white and the rest of the colors. It is a marvel this of colors.
My dad was an artist and one of the strongest memories I have is him mixing the colours he needed on his palette. I'm a bit clueless when it comes to art, I didn't get any of his talent, but I can certainly appreciate it and the use of colour. This is a good answer for sure...And, have you done any posts on your figures? I have not seen any if you have.
Oh yeah? how great that your dad was an artist! That's great! And yes mixing colors and finding the most appropriate ones for what we do is one of the hardest things to do because the right choice of colors will certainly contribute to a good job.

In this Thanos figure and in the one I will show below what I said is evidenced. Normally the plasticine does not bring colors of all the existing palette, so I had to mix some to get the desired colors, in this case a scale of colors derived from blue. The character is called Saturos, from Golden Sun:

These are small figures so it doesn't give rise to too many realistic details, however, I have a couple of photos of other slightly older sculptures I made. They were 30 centimeters each.
Those were more detailed. Unfortunately I haven't been able to do many of those big sculptures lately, only the small ones, like 10 centimeters.

I love the color of sunshine, it is a wake-up call to the senses! There can only be one setting sun and a rising moon. The colors matter not, yellow will always be the color of sunshine!

To be honest, my favorite colors are all over the place. I generally like Blue. But I mostly wear Black. And when I shop, my mind looks for black outfits almost on its own.
And then, when I design stuff, I've noticed I lean towards orange-ish colors quite a lot. This too is a subconscious bias.
Consciously, I love the colors you get from film cameras. Digital photos and videos are lifelike and absolutely detailed with nearly no noise, but film cameras have a certain charm to them, a color palette that is clearly recognizable and while it is possible to create a similar look via editing digital footage, experienced eyes can always tell the differences.
And man I love those blue-orange tilts captured in film cameras—both colors together or separately. Of course, these color tones are often used to convey feelings and emotions of the scenes, blue for misery, pain, and orange-yellowish for hope, good times. Even without considering what the filmmaker intended, some of these frames can be very tasteful. I often pause films just to look at the frames and all the colors lol!

Colour is an important aspect of life as humans are so visually-stimulated most often. I'm not surprised you see things a little differently, or more broadly I should say. I guess the most important thing is that were energised and uplifted by what we see right? Colours help do that.
I do agree. And it doesn't always have to be a pretty impression either. Drowsy sun's lovely orange becomes repulsive on a cockroach's back.
But that's how most things are as I'm sure you're well aware.
This one is kinda of weird for me. I don't reckon I have any favorite colour. They are wonderful in their own and they mean so many things. I love to get my mind blown at nature's tapestry. There are parrots flying around the city, there's incredible flowers, sunsets and daybreak are fantastic, the sea is nearby and its changes from blue to green are relaxing. So many different hues just make me jealous of all those colours we can't perceive.
What I can tell is that I had a girlfriend once explain me a thing about the colours in a painting. After that, my perception of it changed completely. Besides, when I took drawing classes it gave me more depth into this idea of meaning and why we have to look at them carefully.
All colours are good really, it's situational I suppose. One might not like wearing the colour red, but the red colouring of fresh tomato slices on crusty bread, drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with bla K pepper and salt might appeal visually...Just an example and probably not a good one. Anyway, it wasn't meant to be a hard question, in fact, I thought it was quite simplistic.

We have a poem called "Azul" blue in Spanish from a poet who lived in the other coast right in front of my hometown. It resembles how blue the scenery is from heaven to sky to mountains in the distance. It is also a love poem. Sad love. This reminded me of the subtlety of this poem. That rainbow in the middle is a nice thing. All colors represented here. Great photo!

Blue makes sense being part of most, almost joyful basic colour of all... Blue and Yellow = Green, taught at school now dispelled as myth. Blue and Red = Purple the mixed palette makes for fun in nature like your rainbow.
Blue, Green, Grey eyes battle more in bright sunlight compared to those with brown, colour can be personal making it fun to explore. BTW I'm a green eyed monster 😁

I use these types of colors in my clothes when I feel animated, or in a title of a topic to attract my attention. I have never liked opaque colors because it does not give me a feeling of joy, although I like black because it gives elegance when it comes to dressing. Although my favorite color is purple, very few things I have of this color. Anyway, I love all the bright colors, the sharp, strong colors! What color do you like?

We all are.bright colours in all things we do. So , loving is should be pure problem.
My favorite colors are shades of white, off-white, beige and grey. My dad always loved buying these colors for bedsheets, clothes and decorative items for the house. I used to think that it was boring but I quickly realized that I was wrong! These shades of colors can be associated with common themes of purity, peacefulness or cleanliness. On the other hand, it can also be associated with loneliness, coldness or a sterile environment.
Personally for me, I find these shades to be quite relaxing and it helps me with concentration as well. I think of these colors like a blank canvas, you can always add a pop of color to make it stand out.
I love these colors for my furnishing. I used to wear these at some point in my life.. but its back to blues, pinks and purples now.

Ah, white, the origin of all colours! Beautiful stuff. I don't like those plants, tho. When I see then fluttering around, I know it's allergy season. But the other examples make for some relaxing stuff. I love the white of a page waiting to be filled with art. Great choice!
Hahahaha I definitely understand you about the allergies part! Those plants make my skin itchy if I get in contact with them. This was actually my first time seeing it in a brownish color. I don't know what it is called but it reminded me of stuffed teddy bears 🤣 maybe because the plant looks like fur of a brownish colored bear lol.

The color blue to me is like the blue of the sky and the water and the green of the earth, and when we add the yellow, it's sunlight, it's nature or the universe we live in.
Green grass blue skies and sunshine make for a pretty nice day I think.

I'm not sure if it's possible to capture the exact change-moment; is it more of a transition from something to something else, physically or emotionally, or is it like a light witch going on or off. I do not know. With the doorway thought it hints at change that happens from one side to the other, but movement it required to make it happen, physically or emotionally.

What is going on with the blue
I know! I have seen many who like the color blue! I personally love primary colors, which for some cases with yellow, blue and red; or for other cases, green red and blue. In any case with those colors you can create the other colors! And that's great!

Yeah! Obviously the first image is the most colorful. As I told nineclaws above, I used it for a three-part story and I was putting an image for each part, so I was trying to match the lighting of each image to the gloominess of each part.
