This is the first time I've used the #weekend-engagement topic post in this manner and I wasn't sure how it would go, however I was pleased with the response from the community. I hope you all feel good about having promoted a new user and to supporting the community in this way! Well done folks.
We put almost 430 comments onto the blockchain this week and I personally followed several of the suggested accounts, as did many others I have spoken with, so I think we had a successful week. Thank you to everyone who cared enough to suggest a hive-user this week!

Considering all you legit hivers were feeling very community-minded this week I know you'll not mind me handing out the hive rewards differently...
This week, I'm splitting the prize pool between some of the users that were suggested rather than those who left the suggestion comment. I'm pretty sure you'll all agree that this is a better use of this week's prize pool, you know, reward a few of these lesser-known accounts!

The Engage the weekend Community was started recently as a place to drop anything weekend-related, so it's a pretty broad community. I'm hoping to build it up a little as the weekends tend to be a little slower here on hive; I thought it would be cool to have a place to drop weekend-specific posts of my own and also a place to go to see what people are up to around the place. We have attracted a few larger accounts as curators there already, and I'm sure with great content dropping in there more will follow.
You don't have to wait for the weekend to post, and if you're retired or don't work and everyday is a weekend then you're welcome too. It's a place for fun, to connect with others and to share your weekends with the community. I hope you support us.

Yep, I didn't think anyone would mind some of the people they themselves suggested got the hive this week. It felt good to hand a little out and whilst it won't make a massive difference it might be a nice little boost for them. I appreciated your input mate, grazie mille.

I wasn't sure how it would go this weekend as it wasn't a typical #weekend-engagement topic, rather, an experiment of sorts. It worked ok though and I really hope some of those suggested users find a little more activity on their feeds. I followed nine of them myself so they'll certainly pick up votes and curangel promotion here and there too.
Thanks to you also Tom, you show up each week, comment and engage and of course, sponsor. You might think it's nothing at all but having folks like you around helps lubricate the machine so to speak, keep the cogs turning. I appreciate it.

You make a good point. In my experience people get bored easily though and so I need to keep changing things up and hopefully keeping things interesting. I guess I can rely on people tell me if it's all sucking ass simply by not showing up.

I started the #weekend-engagement topic by default and never realised 14 weeks later it would still be going. I'm appreciative of the sponsors and the people that show up each week and hope that it's making a difference to someone, helping them engage more and build relationships.

It takes time to get established here. I started well over three years ago, with nothing, just a keyboard and my brain...I built my small account through engagement and posting so I know it can be done. Just keep doing what you're doing in your posts and engage, that's the way to build. You may wish to participate in the weekend-engagement concept each week also, getting your name out and about will attract people to you. Your choice of course.

Exactly, I have plans to do just that. And I'm actually thinking of partaking in the weekend-engagement segment. My weekends are a mixed bag of doing the things I usually make time for but I guess I can post about it sometimes.
The #weekend-engagement topic each Friday is usually a fun topic to get people engaging with each other, cross-engaging with other uses to help them build relationships. It's good for new people to start friendships in a light, easygoing manner. I pay people for comments, but the true reward is the exposure and relationships.
This week is a very simple topic and will be easy to enter...If you want to then join in, if not that's ok too.
If you scroll back on my blog there's a topic release each Friday over the last 14 weeks, and you can see what's it's about.
The engage the weekend community is designed for posts about weekendy things so you can post anything in there, any time, as long as it's about weekend stuff.

I've been doing this for a while, not just the #weekend-engagement but supporting others. I remember what it was like for me over three years ago so figure that in helping others I'm giving back.

We can all do a little bit to help the community, it doesn't always revolve around giving away hive...Making comments on people's posts is just as supportive as giving people hive...It shows people are there reading and is an acknowledgement of their effort. We can all do that...It costs nothing.
Agree with that, interaction with each other is the best way to improve the relationship in this community. I only just realized this later after I joined with you. Commenting is better than upvoting in the sense of hearing and sharing both side's ideas. Thank you for waking me up and more learning I understand how to grow.
