This is an interesting topic to discuss.
Modern society is a form of transformation from a traditional society that is more advanced in terms of technology, science, and ways of thinking. Now, that's generally good. But there are disturbing things about it. For example, social media is a technology created by modern society. With today's technology and social media, modern society has become dependent. This can take away my privacy and freedom as an individual. For example, a mobile phone number or SIM card must be registered with an ID number and family card. This data will be collected and can be sold by the government. That is quite disturbing to me.
Today's social media has also slowly eliminated cultural values. I see many teenagers on TikTok and Instagram who have forgotten their noble cultural values. They proudly show things out of bounds to get likes, followers, or the like. Where social media should be able to introduce cultural values and national identity to others, it has eliminated these values and identities.
In addition, modern society is also trapped in material values, consumption, and prestige. In my opinion, these three things eliminate non-material values, which is annoying. When I was working, my boss didn't care whether the weather was rainy or sunny. We were required to get to the office on time. When we were about to leave in the afternoon, the boss would sometimes tell us to work overtime to finish the job. The boss requires employees to be loyal to the company. This is very annoying because the value of freedom and happiness with family is eroded by work. Freedom and happiness are very important to me.
I also see social inequality in this modern era. Modern society is often trapped in the worship of power and position. That's why I believe in the term "God is Dead". The term does not refer literally, but rather to the subject of modern society being a slave to power and position. Many people are competing for power and position intending to enrich themselves and their families. Anything is done, no matter how dirty. A person will do anything to gain power. This is what closes the path to equality and justice for me.

Yeah, the privacy concern, I think everyone should be aware of this. The govt ones are beyond our control but there are many who give away their data to many third-party services which can be easily misused. The social media trends you did mention are harmful too, these social media name & fame tendencies also lead us to many threats.
