My fear of losing my memory / WEEK 286

Happy Sunday, everyone! To close out the week, I want to share with you a topic that reminded me of my mother. The main topic offered by @galenkp is:

My greatest fear is losing my memory of my life, as often happens as one gets older (my father suffered from dementia). Do you share this fear? If so, what things would you least like to forget and why?

Memory loss is certainly very common in older adults. I experienced this with my mother. At first, we did not know what was happening to her. In her case, she would create situations where she said something had happened and looked for someone to blame. She also forgot where she had put things and then claimed that someone had taken them. Over time, this led to many uncomfortable situations. Eventually, we took her to the doctor, who diagnosed her with senile dementia.

I have always heard that this can be hereditary, and I am afraid of living in a situation where I could lose my mind over time.

I would like to keep the moments with my parents safe in my mind, as neither of them are on this earthly plane anymore, and I would like to treasure these moments in a secret place in my memory.

Another event is the birth of my children, that is something I never want to forget, it is one of the best moments of my life.

I bid you farewell and hope to see you again soon.

Certainly, memory loss is very common in older people.

It is something very bad and regrettable.
