Hi friends!
Today I want to share with you a good holiday mood and sunny weather. We recently celebrated Christmas. In my country, Ukraine, this holiday is celebrated on January 7, according to the old calendar. Although many Ukrainians celebrate on December 25. So now we have two Christmas:)

Сьогодні хочу з вами поділитися гарним святковим настроєм і сонячною погодою. Нещодавно ми святкували Різдво. У моїй країні Україні це свято відзначають 7 січня, за старим календарем. Хоча чимало українців святкують і 25 грудня. Отож маємо тепер два Різдва:)
In our country it is a family holiday when close relatives visit each other. Everyone carols together, greets each other. In the morning, people mostly go to church. My sister and her family live in the village, I didn't go there this year. So, we had lunch in a small company: me, my husband and daughter. And then my daughter and I went to the city center to see something interesting!
У нашій країні це є сімейне свято, коли близькі родичі ходять один до одного в гості. Всі разом колядують, вітають один одного. Вранці люди переважно ходять до церкви. Моя сестра з родиною живе у селі, цього року не вийшло туди поїхати. Отож, ми пообідали у маленькій компанії: я, мій чоловік і донька. А потім ми з донькою поїхали у центр міста, щоб побачити щось цікаве!
The sun was shining brightly and it was quite warm, like winter, about 1-2 degrees below zero. We started the walk from St. Andrew's Church. And came across the performance of the Nativity Scene. This is a folk show about the birth of Jesus Christ. The young actors were quite talented. Among the heroes were shepherds, three kings, King Herod, Death, the Devil, a Jew. This tradition of driving a nativity scene is very old.
Світило яскраве сонце і було доволі тепло, як на зиму, приблизно 1-2 градуси морозу. Ми розпочали прогулянку від церкви Андрія. І натрапили на виступ Вертепу. Це така народна вистава, у якій йдеться про народження Ісуса Христа. Молоді актори були досить талановиті. Серед героїв були пастушки, три царі, цар Ірод, Смерть, Чорт, єврей. Така традиція водити вертеп є дуже давня.
Later we went to the Market Square and realized that there are a lot of people! This year, Christmas fell on weekends: Friday, Saturday and Sunday. That is why there were a lot of tourists in Lviv. It was very beautiful everywhere, the shops were decorated with toys and lights. The fair sold a food and souvenirs.
Згодом ми пішли на площу Ринок і зрозуміли, що там дуже багато людей! Цьогоріч Різдво припало на вихідні: п'ятницю, суботу і неділю. Тому у Львові було дуже багато туристів. Всюди було дуже гарно, крамниці прикрашені іграшками і вогнями. На ярмарку продавали всілякі їжу і сувеніри.
Above we can see the majestic Baroque Dominican Cathedral, one of my favorite temples. And below I am with the inventor of the kerosene lamp Jan Zeh, who once lived in Lviv.
Вгорі ми можемо побачити величний бароковий Домініканський собор, один з моїх улюблених храмів. А внизу я у компанії винахідника гасової лампи Яна Зеха, який живу Львові.
Later we went to the Opera House. Next to it is the most important Christmas tree in our city, which I wanted to see.
But during the day it was not very interesting. You should probably go there in the evening to see the lighted Christmas tree. There is also a fair with numerous wooden houses on the alley near the opera house. There was such a crowd that we felt dizzy and we quickly ran away.
Згодом ми пішли до Оперного театру. Біля нього стоїть найголовніша ялинка нашого міста, яку я хотіла побачити. Але вдень вона була не дуже цікава. Мабуть слід бути піти туди ввечері, щоб побачити освітлену ялинку. На алеї біля оперного також є ярмарок із численними дерев'яними будиночками. От там був такий натовп, що у нас закрутилася голова і ми швидко звідти втекли.
We decided to go back and drink mulled wine in the Market Square. Just on the way we met... knights. There has been a cafe here for a long time, located in an ancient tower, but I have never seen such interesting sculptures made of metal.
Вирішили повернутися назад і випити глінтвейну на площі Ринок. Аж ось по дорозі ми зустріли... лицарів. Тут вже давно є кафе, розміщене у старовинній вежі, але ось таких цікавих скульптур, зроблених із металу, я ще не бачила.
On the way we went to the former Jesuit church, and now it is the Garrison Church of the Apostles Peter and Paul. The priests of this church support our soldiers in the war in eastern Ukraine. There was a sermon in the temple. Thay recently finished the interior restoration and we admired the bright colors of the frescoes. The church dates back to the beginning of the 17th century and it is very beautiful, see for yourself!
Дорогою ми зайшли у колишній костел Єзуїтів, а тепер це є Гарнізонний храм апостолів Петра і Павла. Священики цієї церкви підтримують наших воїнів у війні на Сході України. В храмі саме була проповідь і також доволі багато людей. Нещодавно там закінчили реставрацію інтер'єру і ми милувались яскравими кольорами фресок. Церква походить з початку 17 століття і вона дуже красива, самі подивіться!
The tower of another church beckoned us from afar. This is the Roman Catholic Cathedral, ie the most important church of this denomination. It is very old, dating back to Gothic times, although with later additions. Inside here is very solemn and beautiful. High vaults, columns, ribs and lush paintings. There was no service, and the organist played the melodies of carols. We sat on a wooden bench for a long time and listened attentionally.
Здалеку нас манила вежа ще однієї церкви. Це є Римо-католицька катедра, тобто найважливіша церква даної конфесії. Вона дуже давня, ще з часів готики, хоча і з пізнішими прибудовами.Всередині тут є дуже урочисто і гарно. Високі склепіння, колони, нервюри і численні розписи... Ніякої служби не було, а органіст грав на органі мелодії колядок. Ми довго сиділи на дерев'яній лаві і слухали.
And here we are again in the Market Square. I drank mulled wine, and my daughter drank mead (it's not a very strong honey-based variety). We also ate donuts, which I baked myself.
Costumed characters walked around, music was played, and a guy was making huge soap bubbles. They looked so interesting against the backdrop of ancient houses from the Renaissance.
Twilight began and it was time to go home. I really enjoyed this walk, so I hope to go again next weekend. Thank you for reading!
І ось ми знову опинилися на площі Ринок. Я пила глінтвейн, а моя донька медовуху (це не дуже міцний різновид на основі меду), а. Також ми їли пампухи, які я сама спекла. Навколо ходили костюмовані персонажі, лунала музика, якийсь хлопець робив величезні мильні бульбашки. Вони так цікаво виглядали на фоні давніх будинків з епохи Ренесансу.
Починалися сутінки і час було йти додому. Мені дуже сподобалась ця прогулянка, тому на наступні вихідні я сподіваюся піти ще раз. Дякую вам за читання! Бажаю міцного здоров'я і успіхів у Новому році!

I'm astonished to know that in some countries, Christmas is being celebrated twice. I wish it was same in mine as well so I get to have that Christmas feeling twice too. Your images are beautiful and the cathedrals look amazing. You sure had a lot of fun doing those clicks
