Flavor of the Month!
Got Wood?
"Flavor of the Month" is an idiom for something currently trendy or popular but expected to fade quickly
That flavor is favor! Industries goes in and out of favor, stocks, even sectors go in and out of favor. Therefore, Splinterlands Land resources does that too. There was a time, I was told, "don't put high PP cards on your Wood plots, it doesn't pay". The statement was accurate!

Look at the plot below along with the plot above. The above plot is the boosted PP of cards people put on their wood plots. The plot below is simply the price of the same two resources.

Stone prices were anomalously high in May and June this year. Because coming into May, there were not enough:
- Stone plots online
- Not enough PP deployed on Stone plots
That created a supply shock, and stone was anomalously distributed. I own Region 10, and I have only 9 stone plots there in total! So price of stone rallied. To respond to higher price, people started to bring more and more stone plots online and put highest possible PP and boost into those stone plots. So by August Praetoria reached peak production of 8M stone (peak production for the 32% plots we have brought online). But by August, since we didn't really have any special stone utility going on, other than price action, price started to collapse. It took people a bit of a waiting game till October that Stone prices are too soft and not recovering, so they finally started to cut production!

There you have it, a simple supply and demand, in-favor and out-of-favor economics in its simplest form.

So What About Wood?
Currently it is going parabolic! We have a land Rare Land card Kinbound Druid, that is released and still currently minting. The card required just Cinder (which you get from burning old cards) and Wood. As of now, most people are out of their production stash, so currently a lot of people are buying wood from the market (Liquidity Pools) to fund the purchase and therefore creating major demand for the product. With tight supply and heavy demand, only one thing can happen to the price! It goes parabolic.

That is what we see from our trust grain factor plot! In fact, wood will reach the nose bleed height of 2X grain factor tomorrow. Only Stone did it in late May - early June, for a short period of time. I expect wood's time is short lived as well, until the rare card sells out!

Heck yeah! Wood and Grain are the only plots I own. Guess I better to do a harvest and make some swaps!
Well wood for DEC. That is money in the bank.
I swapped some wood for grain...
