Sigh of Life (Short Story)

in The Ink Well2 years ago

Happy afternoon friends of Hive. I extend to you a cordial greeting, accompanied by a sincere wish that you are well. Today I want to share a fictional story in this beautiful community that allows us to express ourselves freely and gives free rein to our imagination. I hope you like it.

Without prelude or preamble, Allan came to Maria's heart. Allan was a sigh that inspected people's hearts. Being very efficient in his work he had a busy schedule, however, when Mary's lungs and stomach sent him the request to inspect her heart, he was so moved that he put aside all his work and went immediately to evaluate the heart of this sweet maiden.

Mary had gone through sad experiences in her life that had affected every one of her organs. Her stomach complained of the multiple wounds she had and although she took refuge in her lungs for support, there came a time when they could no longer provide her with any help, as they were severely scarred and unable to function effectively. Maria's organs were constantly asking her heart for an explanation, constantly sending her a note asking her to do her job well, as it had not been years since her heart had been beating with intensity. It barely made slight beats that affected the work of Mary's organs.

The heart refused to respond to its friends, time after time it ignored their messages, it was really as if it did not hear the apotheosis cry that Maria's whole body cheered. The cells, the red and white blood cells started a massive protest against the heart, however, the heart continued to ignore all the signals from that group of individuals and continued beating with the least possible force.

Faced with such an emergency situation, there was no choice but to send a letter to Allan to come and inspect the heart. The letter was written by the lungs and in large, legible handwriting was written by the stomach, the letter read as follows:

"Dear Allan, We hope you are feeling well.

We know that you are the most sought after inspector in the whole county, but we urgently need you to come all this way. There is a big problem in Maria's heart, we call you, we send you messages and you don't answer us. Every day it beats with less intensity and we are suffering the ravages of this bad behavior. We, the lungs can no longer store the oxygen necessary for Mary and our faithful neighbor the stomach is contracted in such a way that it can no longer admit even water. We feel that we are experiencing a clinical death, and we are close to biological death. If the heart continues like this, we will die in a few days.

Please come quickly to see what is happening to the heart. We ask you to do so".

Upon reading the letter, Allan, the sigh, became extremely worried and immediately went to Maria's house. When he saw her cooking so calmly he thought he had been tricked. Allan said, "How is it possible that this maiden who walks, cooks and breathes so calmly can be experiencing clinical death. I think I got the wrong person or maybe her organs tricked me."

He stayed away from the maid and decided to leave, she showed no signs of being unwell. As he was leaving the house, Maria turned her head towards the exit and Allan could see Maria's eyes. When he saw her gaze he was terrified. Although that maiden was standing and breathing, her gaze was dead. Allan, disturbed by the look in Maria's pupils, entered Maria's body through her breathing. When they saw him inside, the lungs caught sight of some light and without the strength to speak, they signaled to him that the problem was in the heart.

Allan entered the heart quickly and there lay a dense darkness that did not let him see, as he could he began to examine thoroughly and realized the problem. There was no light in Maria's heart, scars could be seen everywhere, they were the ruins of what was once a healthy heart. The situation seemed hopeless, but Allan reached the heart of the heart and having it almost dead, he gave it mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and applied electricity to revive it. Allan was exhausted and saw no improvement, yet he continued trying to revive the main engine of Maria's body, until it came to its senses and began to beat a little stronger.

Allan was exhausted, but happy to have arrived in time. Maria was dead inside, she was alive only because she was breathing, but Allan's intervention gave life back to that dying heart that was drowning in the shadows without anyone noticing.

Since then, all of Maria's organs have acknowledged that they owe their lives to Allan. A tiny sigh that brought a great sunshine of illumination to a soul that was dead in life.

This is an excellent story that thanks to the personification of the organs, conveys a message full of empathy and solidarity.
"The fact that we see someone walking and breathing does not determine that that person is well" that's what I think with Mary's character and in Allan's case, how good that in the end he was able to come to his senses ☺️
Regards to you my friend @abisag 👋👋 have a much success with your publication 🙂👍

Thank you very much @cajiro for taking the time to read my publication. I'm glad you liked it and that you could see the lesson I wanted to convey.

Regards 🤗🤗🤗

Hello dear friend @abisag what a beautiful story, what beautiful feelings, how good that Maria could find the solution for her heart, despite the wounds she could heal, sometimes we can walk through life so sad but someone gives us a reason to return the light to our eyes. Very nice story, greetings.

Hello dear @nathy33 🥰🥰

I'm glad you liked my post, just as you mention, sometimes they bring light back into our lives, however, it is important to work to also be a source of comfort to those who are heartbroken.

Thank you so much for leaving me such a nice comment.

A big hug 🤗🤗🤗

Allan being there was a great time to Maria's life. This story shares a lesson that not everyone walking or breathing is free from sickness. Good she had people who cared about her.

That's right @marynn.

There are many people who appear to be fine but are actually groaning inside. We must be kind to all people because we don't know who is going through such a difficult situation but prefers to keep quiet until their body cries out for help.

Thank you very much for reading my publication and leaving me your appreciation.

Regards 🤗🤗🤗

Such is life. The good Lord will always promote and give us good health with sound mind.

@abisag I myself belonged to the medical department, but the view you produced was of a different kind, calling a doctor to examine someone's stomach and lungs, his heart, wow. The union of the organs has been formed, whereas in normal life when one organ becomes ill, the rest will also leave it.
Enjoyed reading.

I am very happy that you enjoyed the reading @fantom22 , comments as sincere as yours make me very happy.

The truth is that just as you say when one organ gets sick the others go away, imagine the people who are so in need of comfort, they often see the fading of supposed friendships and sometimes the apathy of family members.

How nice it would be to have true friends who support us at all times, from our own organs to the whole society.

Thank you very much for your appreciation.
Greetings🤗🤗🤗

😌 you are welcome @abisag

Thank you for sharing this charming tale with us in The Ink Well community. Allan “rescues” Mary’s broken heart with a sigh, the all too necessary emotional response. Your technique of personifying the organs works very well here and you capture our attention, hold us in your grasp and give us exquisite release with your remarkable conclusion. Nicely done!

Thank you for supporting other writers in the community.

I am honored to read such a refreshing and motivating comment. The fact that people who are such experts in literature say such flattering words to me makes me very happy.

Thank you so much for your support.

Best regards 🤗🤗🤗🤗

Hi!
Good story. I don't know why it reminds me of pinocchio, always looking for a human heart to become a real boy. Keep up the good work.

Thank you very much my friend for your appreciation. It's funny that it reminded you of Pinocchio. That's the good thing about fiction, there are so many edges that you can see from different perspectives.
